    Didn’t know I need this comparison, but I’m glad you guys did it.
    Currently considering a new daily trainer, to add to my small rotation.

    Loving my Mach 5, awesome lightweight daily. Only negative for me is that it starts to bottom out in the mid foot after 14 miles

    Got my Hoka mach 5 on Thursday ,bought half size up and put in a shoe stretchers for a day to stretch the width.
    First 10km run this morning …amazing….found them more comfortable than my nimbus 25!!!!

    Kieran is an Evertonian 💙💙UTFT👍🏾👍🏾 Good Lad! Now I know why I always concur with your reviews. I ran 20 miles last week from the new stadium @Bramley Moore back home... In the Speed 2 though, echoes of the Danube marathons, none of these. But it's the Mach 5 all the way for me...COYB✊🏾💙

    Would love to see a comparison between the Hokas and the Cloudsurfer.

    I don’t like the heel bevel on the Max. I wish they had given it a standard heel like the original tempo. That being said, I use it for tempos, and I land square on my midfoot, so I don’t notice it at the paces I use it for.

    • @atheosmachina

      How does it compare to the original Tempo? I never got on with that shoe, too rigid for me.

    Guys, what about the Vaporfly Next% 3? Usually the Run Testers are the first to release a review. Why the delay?

    You guys never do any Topo shoes. Are they just not as well known there? I’m split between the HOKA Mach 5 and the Topo Phantom 2 for a daily.

    I tried the Mach 4 and I was a little surprised at how inflexible the rubberized EVA outsole was. I assume the Mach 5 is the same way. Is the Hyperion Max also as stiff as the Mach 5?

      The Mach 5 I found much softer then the Mach 4. I couldn’t where to Mach 4 it felt firm to me also

      The mach 5 is a different shoe to the 4 , the 4 was awful for me couldn’t wear it. The five is far softer and much better at rolling thru your gait

    Well done Run Resters. How would you compare the Max with the Hyperion Tempo? Which should I buy? The Tempo is discounted now and has the DNA Flash. Should I go for the Max due to its cushioning and design?

    • @jasonacosta1457
      @jasonacosta1457 Год назад

      Max has a significant rocker. It feels a bit smoother and faster. The fit is also slightly better as the upper is stretchier and more accommodating.

    Nice, subtle differences. Thanks for the clarity. Would be curious comparing the Hyperion Max and the NB Rebel V3 for faster-paced intervals and/or track work ... thoughts? Was about to grab some Rebels (BTW: I love my Mach5 & Triumph20 which I switch up all the time for my easy runs).

    • @TheRunTesters
      @TheRunTesters  Год назад +1

      Max vs Rebel is an interesting one. I think most people including myself would say the Rebel is much livelier, bouncier, but I’m not sure it would be strictly better for intervals. Brooks is pretty effective on the track! Both good, Rebel is more fun though, and cheaper, though would expect the Brooks to last longer

      Love my new Rebel V3s for intervals. Crazy light too. Glad I pulled the trigger, as they were on sale for $130CDN / $99USD. What luxury having a shoe for specific workouts! Thanks again for the guidance.

    Comparing my mach5 with hyperion tempo , i just feel that dna flash pick up the pace so easily , the mach5 is too soft and feeling like lagging when going fast....and leg feel more tired with too soft foam for high speed

    • @paddywiggle
      @paddywiggle Год назад +3

      Not only is it a lower drop but the heel compresses quite easily, so when you’re running, especially if you land closer to the heel, the shoe is probably closer to 0 drop
