I found out Lumix G9II does not have animal-detect autofocus in 4K 120fps, but is that a deal-breaker? I tested it out at the local beach, and was surprised by the results.
A bit experimenting with the 300 FPS on my G92. It’s all manual focus but the focus peeking really helps . The focusing capabilities at 120 was one of the big reasons I upgraded from the G9.
I too own a G9ii and have done multiple tests at 120p and found it too slow when the subject isn't moving much such as ducks swimming, it is better suited for birds in flight and other subjects moving quite fast. 60p is my go to for slower moving animals. Good job with the video though. Cheers
I enjoy the filming with music and then the explanation later. For myself, concentrating on the subject at hand makes for a better photograph/video. Thanks for the birdy footage 👍
Love the cat lol. Interesting observations on the new camera. I’m presuming it was all shot hand held? If it’s impressively stable loved watching the water droplets falling from the beak of the swan and the droplets on the neck of the other birds catching the light. In truth the animal deters tracking wouldn’t have made much difference as the animals were not varying position a whole lot especially toward or wash from the camera but the Af in general looked spot on. The water droplets glistening in the sun was my favorite I did everything handheld. The IBIS is so nice. I’ve been thinking about a gimbal for walking shots, but I’m intimidated by the complexity of balancing it My next goal is to try Vlog and try color grading.
