Hello everyone! I've missed you all, how have you been? While today's video isn't a return to making regular content, it's an opportunity for me to slowly regain my spark so that hopefully over the next month or two I can return to a usual cadence of content creation. There's still lots of Star Wars to discuss... I hope you're all well, and bring on 2025!
I KNEW I played Plo Koon! I had this faded memory of playing Plo Koon with a yellow lightsaber. But for decades i had no idea if my mind made that up. Feels so long ago, it was like another life.... I'm old, gandalf. Like butter spread across too much bread.
Same with Adi with a red lightsaber, because it wasn't only a Sith color in super old canon from around Episode 1's time. This was before we got into synthetic vs natural crystals and the Jedi, except Luke with his green saber, having a preference for natural
I can’t tell you how many hundreds of hours I spent playing this as a kid on the PS. Finding out after so long you can unlock Darth Maul was crazy for me.
If I remember correctly Darth Maul used a single blade lightsaber when unlocked in the ps1 version. If that was the case across all versions it's a nice detail they added. The texture wobbling made the platforming extra hard back in the day. I look forward to replaying it. It's by far not a great game from a gameplay standpoint but I have fond memories of overcoming its challenge and unlocking new characters.
This was one of my favorite PS1 games! It was the first time I saw a yellow lightsaber (plo koon) and it became my favorite lightsaber color ever since!
Welcome back my friend😁it's good to see another video from you👍this game looks awesome but again as always it needs to be available for me download on mobile app to play. I hope you're feeling well and look forward to more content from you. May the force be with you always my friend
i still have the og prima strategy guide and i always sucked at this game but my most vivid memories of playing star wars as a kid was this game on PS1. All i ever wanted was to play as Darth Maul lol
I was shocked when I heard this game was being remastered. I played it so much back then on PS1 as a kid and never beat the second level. About 4 years ago I played it on my PSVITA and got to the gungan boss but that’s about it. Amazing game!
Good to hear your voice again! I hope you're doing better! I only played this game once in my childhood, but it was just a little too arcade-y for my liking, like Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue. I would love to see Aspyr remaster the Episode 3 game next.
Downloaded it a few days ago and started playing today! I don't have 100% of things unlocked from the go, so that may have been the copy they let you have access to. I don't have any of the gungans or mercs. I do have Padme, Panaka, Maul, and the B1 battle droid, though. When the game started and that opening cut scene started, I was livid. Adi Galia and Plo Koon had BLUE sabers! WHAT? WHAT? WHAT? lol I do enjoy that you can select the saber color from the character select screen to be original game accurate or Clone Wars accurate. They even did it for Ki-Adi Mundi! His TPM figure came with a purple saber, but he has a blue on in Episode 2 and on. Love it! Of course, I'm playing through right now with 'Ol Molasses (Plo Koon for how slow he is) and his yellow saber! Can't wait for ELECTRIC JUDGMENT! :D Great review, solid points, and a timely release!
You need to complete the final mission and get access to new game plus, then you'll get all the bonus characters they introduced like Jar Jar and Rodian etc - By all things unlocked, I mean stuff from the original game (ie Maul, Padme etc)
My friends and I played this all the time when I was a kid. I always loved this game and am glad it got a remaster. This game introduced me to Plo Koon as well. Because of this game it always felt wrong with me to see him with a blue lightstaber instead of yellow.
We're back! Also first time even hearing about this game. 😅 I never had consoles when I was younger so that might explain it. Also no internet to know about things.
don't kill the queen on 4 Gungan ruins is a nightmare..beware the water. the combat is slightly different....you can't block out of run. you have to skid to a stop first ...and the droids will punish you for it. the blaster shots are faster and the droids have amazing accuracy. Corasant is the easiest level now....the enemies play fair. Maul is tough
Good to hear and see you again! I have never heard of this game before but it looks like one of those old ones that retain a certain charm that lives on no matter how old it gets. Think I have to check it out at some point
Nope can't say that I have. The first Star Wars game I was introduced to was Star Wars Episode 1: Racer, followed by Rogue Squadron and Shadows of the Empire, all of them on the N64. After that I found my way to the Dark Forces/ Jedi Knight Series.
nice to see this vid, i somehow always had this unbelievably deep nostalgia specifically of this game... sitting on this ugly ass 2000s sofa of my dads, playing it on an old tube-television... i always handed my dad the controller bc it was (is)god damn hard- man those were the times, thx for ur vid tho :)
I don’t think it looks very good but I’m buying regardless. I hope my investment in LucasArts remasters means they’ll make more, and hopefully I’ll get the ones I do want like Jedi Knight, Shadows of the Empire, and Rogue Squadron.
The main thing I would like patched is the input lag, push a button and it takes several seconds before a strike, which really makes the gameplay feel frustrating at times.
After seeing the absolute glowup Raziel got in soul reaver's remaster... i'm quite disappointed that aspyr didn't go further in improving character models here.
Нравится твоя подача и четкие детали, которыми не могут похвастаться другие ютуберы. Но я все еще жду когда появится новая информация про ремейк старой Республики.
Why give Star Wars video game development rights to companies like EA, Aspyr and Ubisoft LOL. They’re some of the biggest clowns in the entire video game history…
What I don't like is that this the Dreamcast version. The PS1 version, despite having a lower visual quality, had better details in the scenarios and characters but it was also more difficult. I would have preferred a remaster of that one.
@100StarWars To be fair, I think showcasing some of the characters, or at least talk about them, is what most players want. But you said we wanted to know the graphics. Just like in SWB 1 & 2 remasters, very few channels said "graphics" this or that, when most wanted to know multiplayer stability. In short, graphics don't matter, especially since some devs use pixel graphics or text adventures.
The game looks like it did on Dreamcast, just in higher resolution, and with maybe a bit more lighting. Play the Dreamcast via HDMI through a RetroTINK 4K and it doesn't look that far removed from this re-release.
Honestly bro, people can do what they want, obviously. But I will never again give Disney another dime. Especially since they, time and time again, want to profit off of material and ideas they didn't make and willfully de-canonized. All they are good for is profiting off of other people's hard work, creativity and success, all because their own material isn't good enough to stand on its own. I don't support or respect that way of thinking or operating and tbh, I don't think anyone else should either. Don't buy this shit.
The original was harder. They've made some of the levels easier platforming and mini-boss wise. Maul is still a bit annoying on the Jedi mode though there are notable differences with the other game. I loved this as a kid and played it a lot. Even the modified version feels like muscle-memory. Nearly completed all the achievements overnight. On another note; I turned giant bobble heads on by complete accident whilst playing as a Battle Droid, and don't know how to turn the damned thing off because it neither explains it to you nor has any prompt on-screen. I can see this being patched. I always wished they'd done a Jedi Power Battles II for PS2. Alas, it was not to be.
0:51: Ehh, I expect this get a Halo: Master Chief Collection on the PC-style redemption. Playing the OG versions and the lackluster, unambitious modding community is just getting tiresome. 5:59: Notice the Lightsaber Color prompt for some characters, especially Mace Windu. 7:10: OK, that can be a dealbreaker. 7:42 seems a mistake, akin to how the aforementioned MCC unlocks all the armor customization already, no need to achievement unlock 8:27: Ah, perhaps you should find and unlock the cheat codes in the game levels (or perhaps finishing them) first. Some old games tend to do that, surprisingly. Overall: I doubt I will be adoring this game as much as X-Wing and TIE Fighter, Republic Commando, the Dark Forces Saga/Jedi Knight series, and the still unre-released Revenge of the Sith video game and Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader, but I must say, 100% Star Wars, you succeeded in piquing interest for this. And I could even be bold to say that this may be a far more worthwhile remaster than even Nightdive Studios' The Thing... the preceding movie is still better, sorry, and the game just felt surprisingly generic and still unpolished. As an aside, I might like to see that Episode I: The Phantom Menace video game adaptation to get the polished PC rerelease treatment too. Flawed and frustrating it is, but there's just something about it that interests me much, and it's a crime to keep it a karking console exclusive.
Just emulate the Dreamcast version, and use the money for some other game. This is literally the dreamcast came with widescreen enabled, and in moments like 01:55 OP is using the the PS1 version as the "base version" with which to compare this "remaster". Anyone who played the Dreamcast version will instantly realize how p1ss poor this "remaster" is.
I never played this but had hears of it yrs after its release on yt. Cant say I'd buy it full price but maybe on a sale. @100% Star Wars do u think you'll do any updates on the state of the classic battlefront collection? Still disappointed at the state of that game at launch, im just glad i got my refund Either way cool vid, hope ur doing better man👊🏾
Not that any kind of restoration effort could make this game playable, but this looks like yet another barebones AI upscale that introduces a bevy of new bugs and issues not present in the original (aside from the occasional visual hiccup), from one of the worst developers in existence. As expected of Aspyr. Edit: Also, somehow 100% Star Wars returned. XD Thanks for the review dude. Glad to see you.
What were you expecting from an over two decade old game? This was a game I myself played back on the Sega Dreamcast when I was just an uneducated, borderline illiterate brat. This ain't something that is going to appeal to most "modern" gamers. Hell, even I had issues adjusting to some of the jank present in this old game.
Video games are nothing like real life and realism doesn't actually make games better. But you can have your opinion. It's fine. I'm gonna play this on PS1 tonight.

I KNEW I played Plo Koon!
I had this faded memory of playing Plo Koon with a yellow lightsaber. But for decades i had no idea if my mind made that up.
Feels so long ago, it was like another life.... I'm old, gandalf. Like butter spread across too much bread.
Nope - The Man, The Myth, The Legend with his Yellow Lightsaber was a core member of this game's cast!
I know exactly what you mean
Star Wars+Lord of the Rings? Based
Same with Adi with a red lightsaber, because it wasn't only a Sith color in super old canon from around Episode 1's time. This was before we got into synthetic vs natural crystals and the Jedi, except Luke with his green saber, having a preference for natural
@General_Kenobi_212 Did you just refer to Ki Adi Mundi by his middle name? You absolute psychopath.
I can’t tell you how many hundreds of hours I spent playing this as a kid on the PS. Finding out after so long you can unlock Darth Maul was crazy for me.
Time to relive those memories ;)
To be fair in the original ps version he only had one side of his saber active when you played as him, something have corrected here.
Day one purchase, this game was my childhood
Enjoy!
Im sorry
He‘s back! 🎉🥳🥂🍾🎊
And now….. finally…. He has returned **revenge of the Sith music plays**

Welcome back Luke! Hope you are keeping well so far. Looking forward to what's next.
Thank you, I appreciate it!
If I remember correctly Darth Maul used a single blade lightsaber when unlocked in the ps1 version. If that was the case across all versions it's a nice detail they added.

I was really hoping they’d be able to add online multiplayer. That would’ve been epic for this game.
Yeah it's a shame...
Glad you're semi back mate.
Fast recovery.
Much appreciated!
Wonder if Plo will be easier to beat Maul in this one (hopefully not). The satisfaction when I finally won with him was unimaginable.
It's the same sadly
It's still very damn hard lol...
Played the first level tonight as plo koon. Took me back to when I was 5 years old
Man.... THIS game at five years old? Wow! I was playing Super Mario Bros 3 when I was 5.
It's one hell of a nostalgia trip for sure.
I only ever got to play the demo at a friend's house as I never had a PS1. So looking forward to booting it up 😊
I hope you enjoy it!
This was one of my favorite PS1 games! It was the first time I saw a yellow lightsaber (plo koon) and it became my favorite lightsaber color ever since!
SAME
Wish they kept his Yellow Saber in the The Clone Wars tbh...
Welcome back my friend😁it's good to see another video from you👍this game looks awesome but again as always it needs to be available for me download on mobile app to play. I hope you're feeling well and look forward to more content from you. May the force be with you always my friend
super excited to play this again! Glad to hear you and see a video. Hope you are doing well.
I remember my cousins and I played this religiously when we were little. We never beat it because Darth Maul always beat our ass at the end 😅
Darth Maul still beat my ass in this Remaster 25 years later ngl lol
I’m going to give this remaster some time to fix the audio issues as I hook my Dreamcast up 😅
Also I love that you get to hear the actual incredible John Williams score from the movie while you play.
I like the remaster. There's audio missing and audio bugs in places, but the overall experience is great
Yeah defintely some audio issues here and there.
i still have the og prima strategy guide and i always sucked at this game but my most vivid memories of playing star wars as a kid was this game on PS1. All i ever wanted was to play as Darth Maul lol
Nice! I got that strategy guide, too. With its sealed pages of secrets!
Did you ever unlock him even with the guide?
That seems very expensive. This should be a $5 game
I was shocked when I heard this game was being remastered. I played it so much back then on PS1 as a kid and never beat the second level. About 4 years ago I played it on my PSVITA and got to the gungan boss but that’s about it. Amazing game!

holy shit didn't know they remastered this insta buy such a fun game in my childhood days!

I can't believe you've never even heard of it haha
Tatooine level had a nightmare part when you had to jump on pillars to cross a gorge. Clipping was horrible and you were lucky to get passed it.
don't kill the queen on 4
Gungan ruins is a nightmare..beware the water.
the combat is slightly different....you can't block out of run. you have to skid to a stop first ...and the droids will punish you for it.

Power Battles was during the peak of the Phantom Menace hype.
You know, the Dreamcast is one of my favorite systems. (Hot take, i know) but i seriously didn't know this released on it. Had it on the PlayStation.
I got a Dreamcast copy brand new on my shelf. I play it on PS1 when the mood strikes.
(Dreamcast is my favorite too)
Thanks for the review! Will share!
Thank you good sir!
I swear, EVERYONE (myself included) played... and beat this game as Qui-Gon Jinn 1st!
Unless they had a friend, then it was Qui Gon and Obi Wan!
Never played the original but thinking about getting this to play with my kids. Looks like a fun game.
It's a lot of fun in coop!
It's hilarious that they added Ki-Adi Mundi and gave him a purple saber yet Mace still has a blue one 😂
#MakeMaceBlueAgain
You can change the colour of lightsabers. Mace can have a purple one.
@@DodgeMan74 oh sick. Didn't know that. I only guessed from what I've seen in this video 😅
In Legends canon, by the time of Episode 1, Mace's lightsaber was blue and Ki-Adi's was purple.
Welcome back luke!! And to quote Jedi power battles "wE bEeN wAiTiNg FoR yOu"
Thank you!
To me, this game was worth it. Much more than the lazy, power rangers beat em up that just came out
What power rangers game was that?
The Legend is Back!
❤️🙏🏼
I am SOOOO HAPPY FOR THIS REVIEW!!! before dreamcast lol I played it first kn the ps1 og. Lol. I miss it sooooooo much hope it's good
My dreamcast was my baby haha
@100StarWars forgot to ask. Is there multi-player capabilities? Either through online or double plug in via computer?
Yeah it has couch co-op (local)
I remember this game on ps1. It was pissing me off so much. Especially with the damn jumps
The biggest challenge was the platforming, for sure.
It can still be a pain in the ass for sure xD
This game was fun when I was younger
It still has its charms today!

Yeah, even though it wasn't the best I have a deep nostalgia for it too. Will you be picking up the remaster?
@ absolutely even tho i loved the old polygon design also i remember the OG beeing much more dark? or lets say the lightning was different
Yeah I noticed the lighting being q little different too.
welcome back m8!
Thank you good sir!
They gotta rerelease the ROTS game sometime soon.
It is the film’s 20th anniversary after all.
Yeah I'm surprised it hasn't received anything....
I don’t think it looks very good but I’m buying regardless. I hope my investment in LucasArts remasters means they’ll make more, and hopefully I’ll get the ones I do want like Jedi Knight, Shadows of the Empire, and Rogue Squadron.
This was one of my favorite star wars games I've ever played. Excited to get it at some point.
I hope you enjoy it when you get around to it!
Glad to see you back. I’ve been going over many of your videos again through my replay of Kotor 2.
Thank you, it's good to be back! Hope you're enjoying KOTOR 2!
You’re back! Hope you’re doing okay.
The main thing I would like patched is the input lag, push a button and it takes several seconds before a strike, which really makes the gameplay feel frustrating at times.
My brother and I still quote the "hmmhmhm" sound that plays when you get a health boost 😂
The Yoda sound effect? 😭
@100StarWars yeah dude as a kid I used to think it was Qui Gon 💀
Aspyer is amazing at what they do, their work porting kotor 1 and 2 is amazing
I played this on playstation 1 . Loved it back then.
Will you be picking up the remaster?
@100StarWars maybe, if they fix those bugs you presented.
After seeing the absolute glowup Raziel got in soul reaver's remaster... i'm quite disappointed that aspyr didn't go further in improving character models here.
I think Soul Reaver's remaster was a lot more hands on.
I loved it. It was so much fun. Super easy beat em up, but have great memories playing it
Super easy?? You mad man
Good to see you bro
Good to be back!

Would love it if they could remaster the Rogue Squadron games or it's amazing yet slept on cousin Battle for Naboo
Yeah I'd love Rogue Squadron. But I think those need more than a little Remaster. They need a proper touch up.
It’s old and janky but fun enough to be worth it. Only problem is the one save slot
What I don't get is you can get Revenge of the sith on xbox but not ps5?
Some re-releases do be like that
Why give Star Wars video game development rights to companies like EA, Aspyr and Ubisoft LOL. They’re some of the biggest clowns in the entire video game history…
Aspyr, i dont think they should have any future contracts....
I want kotor remaster or 3. Start making star was great again.
Dang this game looks like a GameCube game with all the quirks of unfinished modern games. Thanks for the straightforward review!
This game is older than GameCube.
I have it on PS1 and Dreamcast.
Glad you enjoyed it!
This was the earliest one i remember playing on my PSone as a kid. Don't think I could ever make it past level 2 or 3 🤦♂️😂
Why are all the levels unlocked from the get go?
I have no clue.
this game is awesome, played it yesterday and could not stop :D
Glad you enjoyed it!
I loved Jedi Power Battles as a kid.
Will you be picking this up?
@@100StarWars I did plan on it
Somehow Jedi Power Battles returned
LOL
What I don't like is that this the Dreamcast version.
The PS1 version, despite having a lower visual quality, had better details in the scenarios and characters but it was also more difficult.
I would have preferred a remaster of that one.
Jedi Power Battles walked so the Star Wars Episode III game could run.
i had a blast yesterday with a buddy.
but it had many bugs.
controls are awsome, i have the original and its so bad :DDD
greetings from germany
Jedi Power Battles is sweet! I have it on PS1 and Dreamcast!
Are you planning to pick up the remaster?
@100StarWars I prefer retro games. So, no. But I did get the Dark Forces Remaster because the PS1 version is terrible.
That's fair, I've still got this one on the shelf downstairs next to my dreamcast 😏
Dang, all I want to know are how many playable characters. But apparently every reviewer and video on the topic is ignoring that question.
There's over 20+ playable characters.

You think you could share the cheat codes so that others can try them
OMG this is the first time I'm hearing of this amazing game's remaster attempt. Is it on steam or????? TAKE MY MONEY!
Yeah it's on steam and all major platforms.
Fun remaster for sure. Now if we could get the Kotor remake/remaster/reimagining. That would be great.
Just saying.

Wtf I didn't know this game was getting a remaster LOL
Now you do ;)
I just want episode 3 already
Don't we all man...
Hopefully they will remaster ep 3 and force unleashed
Indeed!
If you love Star Wars, it should be a hard yes
Wish they would have added kit fisto
This game came out before Kit Fisto was created
Yeah not until it gets a huge bug fix/patch and goes on sale for 50% or more lol. Never buy ANYTHING from Aspyr at full price. Never.
Not paying for a $20 remake. Would’ve loved for it to have been emulated for PS plus classics though…
The original was harder. They've made some of the levels easier platforming and mini-boss wise. Maul is still a bit annoying on the Jedi mode though there are notable differences with the other game.
I hated this game back in the day. No interest in it now.
:((
I pre-ordered it fuck it😂
👀
Meh yoda isn't playable
This game fucked me off growing up
Time to let it fuck you off as an adult ;)
No Online-Koop is a EXTREME big L for this Game.
Lightsabers are baseball bats in this game? Not playing it.
Aren't they in like almost every game? Only Jedi Knight games make them cut thru
Video games are nothing like real life and realism doesn't actually make games better.
But you can have your opinion. It's fine. I'm gonna play this on PS1 tonight.
Lightsabers are baseball bats in KOTOR too.
@@Walamonga1313 No, they're baseball bats in a large chunk of the games
