I've been through this type of work a few times, and I would say this, if one is going to reinforce the sides, I believe the reinforcement should extend back to the lift strut brackets. Notice, it bent right at the end of the plate reinforcement. That is not a particularly strong area to stop at. There is a lot more structure at the lift strut bracket area. But no matter what, a bad enough landing will bend anything. Get it fixed and get it flying. The Kitfox 4 is a nice airplane. And keep up the videos!
Today is 15 Feb. 2024 and I just found this video. It is hard to find how to repair different problems on Kitfox airplanes. on the internet. I started a channel too to show what and how I repaired stuff on my plane. I like Teamkitfox but sometimes the info one needs is not there. I can't figure out how to load repair vids on Teamkitfox. Anyhow I subscribed and can't wait to see more videos. Don't worry about video editing, All my videos are just plain raw.
I can relate. There’s so much info on teamkitfox it’s hard to sift through it all to find exactly what you need sometimes. Plus, I like visually seeing it. More vids are on the way!
