Imessage is through internet or data, the green texts are regular text messages, you can hold down on the blue bubbles and click “send as text” and it will then become green, its never had anything to do with android.

As an iPhone user, I am unbothered. I was never bothered by the blue bubbles either. These are all gimmicks to get people to move from one OS to the other. On a normal day it really doesn’t affect us that much.

Years ago, the first time someone liked one of my text messages, I thought they were being a smart ass. I thought they had actually copied and pasted my message in quotes and said liked. It wasn't someone i texted often and didn't have a close relationship with. I messaged them back explaining i was confused and felt a little silly when they explained to me what it meant. Felt like an old person lol. As an android user, I've never been annoyed or bothered by how the text reactions come through as separate messages (except that first one). It really doesn't make a difference to me.
Never once have I seen one of those texts from an Apple user and thought "man I should really spend 4X what I spent on my phone so I see an emoji instead of text."

This is an issue between iPhones in non-iMessage group chats too. When someone else likes a message, all iPhones receive the reaction line of text instead.
IMO there are times I get different reactions that the sender might have reacted late, and to have a text telling me which text got what, I actually like it.

For those who aren’t caught up: basically, google, found a way where you could send reactions between phones that are iPhones and androids, but Apple decided against it. Basically, Apple wants to make it inconvenient for any kind of cross-use between Apple products and other products, but Google said “bet” and uno-reversed on them
When did Apple decide against it? Google just translates SMS text to reactions automatically. Apple never said anything about it. Because SMS doesn't support iMessage Reactions, Apple will convert it to SMS text.

Just so you know, when in a group chat, they get all those messages too. So it’s more likely that people are reacting more than normal to create intentional spam. Usually it’s only a matter of time before people start reacting to the reaction messages.

I've avoided all Apple products after learning about their war against right to repair years ago. Back then those guys would rather you go to a dealership to have your car serviced over a mom & pop mechanic.
Years ago, the first time someone liked one of my text messages, I thought they were being a smart ass. I thought they had actually copied and pasted my message in quotes and said liked. It wasn't someone i texted often and didn't have a close relationship with. I messaged them back explaining i was confused and felt a little silly when they explained to me what it meant. Felt like an old person lol. As an android user, I've never been annoyed or bothered by how the text reactions come through as separate messages (except that first one). It really doesn't make a difference to me.

For those who aren’t caught up: basically, google, found a way where you could send reactions between phones that are iPhones and androids, but Apple decided against it. Basically, Apple wants to make it inconvenient for any kind of cross-use between Apple products and other products, but Google said “bet” and uno-reversed on them
When did Apple decide against it? Google just translates SMS text to reactions automatically. Apple never said anything about it. Because SMS doesn't support iMessage Reactions, Apple will convert it to SMS text.
