When Mooncat first started posting swatches, I thought Molten Lava would be too similar to Flight of the Monarchs. Seeing them side by side really makes me glad I went ahead and bought the full collection! That one will probably be my favorite! 😍
totally get that!! I know sometimes it can be annoying to release a very similar color back to back, but thankfully these were wildly different (definitely easy to justify having both 🤣) I can’t wait to see it on you!! 🌋
OMFG. Mooncat is killing it. I hope they never change. These collections are getting even more creative and I just need these vibes in my life. I did a full gallery-style inventory of my nail polish using Notion on desktop and found that I have more greens than any other color by far, so Tyrannosaurus Hex is definitely for me! Also going to get Molten Lava and Tectonic Shift now that I can see that I thankfully have nothing even remotely similar to these in my collection. As always, amazing video, just love, love, love your channel and how fast you are with these releases.

I am super drawn to the ultra fine flakie formulas in tectonic shift and molten lava! My mind was blown when you put on that third coat of tectonic shift. So gorgeous with all of those contrasting colors. I hope they formulate more of them!
What a pretty collection beautifully presented. I really like Mooncat‘s approach of composing collections and how appropriate for Earth Day. I really feel terrible to have to say this but I instantly had dupes for four of these polishes in my mind. Or this just proofs that Mooncat‘s creations really are my jam 🤓🌎🦕🌏🦖

Lilypad „That‘s a pretty ugly sweater“ for Velociraptor, Atomic Polish „Cloud Confetti“ for Sabertooth , Clionadh „Rain-Bows, for Tectonic Shift Rogue „Fall-in Leaves“ for Pangea (of course Pangea doesn’t have these flakies) and now those that are less similar but in my humble opinion catch the vibe: Cadillacquer December 16 from their Advent calendar 2022 for Raaawr! , BKL „Syria“ for Molten Lava and Paint it Pretty „We‘re not in Kansas anymore“ for Tyrannosaurus Hex. Triceratops is the most unique and really one of a kind. I am aware that ALL polishes I listed are LE‘s and not available and since I have them all in my collection I give these a pass. But I find this collection nevertheless very beautiful and temptingly edgy

I love this theme! But I agree, I am such a seasonal wearer I’m not triggered to pull the plug on these immediately. So it is nice to know they are not limited edition. I really love the finishes on tectonic shift and molten lava! So different! But I think Pangea and Velociraptor have my heart! The only one I don’t love is Triceratops. And it makes me sad because that is my fav Dino!

yeah thats totally fair! Its possible these may thicken up over time like with other matte shades. but for what its worth, my bottle of Rue Morgue which is also matte, still applies beautifully after having it for maybe 3-4 years now! so fingers crossed these will hold up. I guess the other concern is that matte polishes tend to chip a lot faster, so i’m curious about wear time on these too

honestly I wouldn’t be mad at that! theres SO much depth to that shade bc of how sheer the jelly base is, so I think in other colors it would be even more amazing 🤩 but yay, hope they get to you soon!! 🦖💚

Sabortooth for one, when wet its like this perfect opal and when matte, I don't know what to think but I can't stop looking at it - but I also feel like that about all of them. I feel like the pics do not even do them justice and based on the photos online I was only going to pick up like 3-4 shades but after seeing you video l`m afraid I will have to buy the entire set :D I hardly have any jellies/crellies in my collection so that`s gonna justify it, right?! ;) Also, they all look really good with a glossy topcoat so thats really cool too ;)

Once again a great swatch and comparison video! I love your swatch videos! I did have a question though! Did they change their brushes too?? I feel like apart from improved formulas, brushes may have played a role in easier application too! I could be wrong but I wanted to check with you!🥰
they apparently did!! I’m honestly kind of embarrassed I didn’t notice LOL because yeah I wasn’t the biggest fan of their brush before, it was a little too thick in the wrong direction and definitely held a lot of polish! so yes, totally agree that these new brushes likely helped with application!! @sunbeamnails on Instagram posted an old vs new brush comparison if you wanna see :)
I was wondering if this was the collection where they took formula suggestions. I thought it was too quick of a turnaround time to consider feedback, but I'm glad that these polishes have a great formula. I want Sabertooth but I'm waiting for a sale to purchase.

Great video! I didn't pick up any of these, although tempted with techtonic shift and molten lava. I like Pangaea too so was interested in the recreations. Ooh I loved the rue morgue and con artist look, I'll try rue morgue or 13th hour with scorched earth. I'm undecided on the Matt finish. I got the previous 4 Matt polishes, but feel they don't last as long without a top coat protector. Interesting that you put a matt tc on and that makes sense to smooth out the flakes. Hmmmm juries still out but thanks for this vid
Thank you!! Ahh yes those ultra fine flakies are soo magical! I especially love Tectonic Shift ✨ and yess the recreations for Pangea were so fun to try! Yeah Matte polishes are so divisive I feel, people either really love them or hate them 😅 they definitely do tend to chip faster, but I thnk if you do a QDTC first and then a matte top coat it’ll last longer! It looks cool sometimes but I’m usually team glossy myself ✨
My biggest problem with live love polish, was that it chipped after a day. They rebranded, and made their polishes more expensive. I’m afraid to spend almost $20 on mooncat, if they still chip after only a day.
I completely understand! I only have a couple of the old Live Love Polish shades, but they didn’t chip any faster than other brands for me so I would get the usual few days of wear time with them. were you also using their base coat? If the chipping happened only when using LLP, maybe it was a body chemistry issue so I wonder if using a different base coat would’ve helped!

no not at all! I use an acetone tub for removal so thats why flakies/glitters get everywhere on me 🥴 assuming you do proper removal you’ll have little left on your skin. but they were all easy to remove bc of how thin they are :)
I think the difference between Tectonic Shift/Molten Lava and Pangea might be the base colour is more similar to the flakies for Techtonic Shift/Molten Lava so it blends better, where as with Pangea the flakies stick out so you can tell exactly where the flakies are. Also, Velociraptor is exactly what I wanted Haunted Forest to be like. Would be interested in a comparison there, but I'm guessing the shade is quite different. Verdigris Jelly over Solar US looking much more like Velociraptor than Pangea (Maybe Navy jelly over Solar US instead?). I'm loving the formula in Techtonic shift/Molten Lava. I hope they do a purple one XD P.S. I love the fresh wet hair look today!
ooh thats possible!! theres definitely more of a contrast in Pangea and the base is just so much darker too so it might be covering up the flakies more. maybe if they tried to use more flakies it would’ve affected the formula or something 🤔 sadly I don’t have Haunted Forest, but judging from the photos I think theres a much more prominent green flakie with somee of the red/purple sprinkled in, while Velociraptor is mainly red/orange/purple, but little to no green. I think the bases are similar though! and omg youre so right, idk how I forgot about Navy Jelly for Pangea and using Verdigris Jelly for Velociraptor!! I’ll try and share that on my stories later today but you can DM me if you miss it! :) I’m with you on wanting more colors in that ultra fine flakie formula!!! and thank you so much hehe 🥰💓
I wish I would have saw your video on all these swatches as it’s being applied rather than just a random finger picture on their website, I would have bought the whole collection, instead of the “safe” colors I thought I liked, but I actually like them all
Why why why do companies release matte finishes? If I want a polish matte, matte top coat is sold pretty much everywhere. I would love these in a non-matte finish, but since they're forcing matte on us now it's impossible to get that true jelly look even with a glossy top coat over the matte. Huge bummer.
yeah matte isn’t my preferred finish either, but idk these all still seemed very squishy & jelly like to me once I put the glossy topcoat over them! 😬 so I do wonder how these matte + glossy topcoat would look next to ones that dried down glossy 🤔
I think the greens are beautiful. But I don't buy from this brand because I find them to be dishonest. I'm going to try to get the green from the new ILNP collection instead.
I know mooncat has suffered a pretty bad reputation from their over edited website photos, but I really do believe they’ve listened to the feedback they’ve gotten and have been working with more swatchers to show off their shades more accurately (I don’t know if the same is true for other brands). I definitely would love to know if there’s anything else you find dishonest about them though! but the green from ILNP is definitely a great option too :)

I’m honestly kind of embarrassed I didn’t notice LOL because yeah I wasn’t the biggest fan of their brush before, it was a little too thick in the wrong direction and definitely held a lot of polish! so yes, totally agree that these new brushes likely helped with application!! @sunbeamnails on Instagram posted an old vs new brush comparison if you wanna see :)

I was wondering if this was the collection where they took formula suggestions. I thought it was too quick of a turnaround time to consider feedback, but I'm glad that these polishes have a great formula. I want Sabertooth but I'm waiting for a sale to purchase.

Great video! I didn't pick up any of these, although tempted with techtonic shift and molten lava. I like Pangaea too so was interested in the recreations. Ooh I loved the rue morgue and con artist look, I'll try rue morgue or 13th hour with scorched earth. I'm undecided on the Matt finish. I got the previous 4 Matt polishes, but feel they don't last as long without a top coat protector. Interesting that you put a matt tc on and that makes sense to smooth out the flakes. Hmmmm juries still out but thanks for this vid
Thank you!! Ahh yes those ultra fine flakies are soo magical! I especially love Tectonic Shift ✨ and yess the recreations for Pangea were so fun to try! Yeah Matte polishes are so divisive I feel, people either really love them or hate them 😅 they definitely do tend to chip faster, but I thnk if you do a QDTC first and then a matte top coat it’ll last longer! It looks cool sometimes but I’m usually team glossy myself ✨
My biggest problem with live love polish, was that it chipped after a day. They rebranded, and made their polishes more expensive. I’m afraid to spend almost $20 on mooncat, if they still chip after only a day.
I completely understand! I only have a couple of the old Live Love Polish shades, but they didn’t chip any faster than other brands for me so I would get the usual few days of wear time with them. were you also using their base coat? If the chipping happened only when using LLP, maybe it was a body chemistry issue so I wonder if using a different base coat would’ve helped!

were the flakies in molten lava and pangea also hard to remove from your fingers during removal? like you mentioned it was the case with tectonic shift
no not at all! I use an acetone tub for removal so thats why flakies/glitters get everywhere on me 🥴 assuming you do proper removal you’ll have little left on your skin. but they were all easy to remove bc of how thin they are :)

I think Pangea kind of lives up to it's name. You got more of a scattered flakies effect rather than the packed flakies from Molten Lava.

that ones so up there for me too!! i love the slight coral/pink tint it has, but its really those flakies that make it shine ✨
I think the difference between Tectonic Shift/Molten Lava and Pangea might be the base colour is more similar to the flakies for Techtonic Shift/Molten Lava so it blends better, where as with Pangea the flakies stick out so you can tell exactly where the flakies are.
Also, Velociraptor is exactly what I wanted Haunted Forest to be like. Would be interested in a comparison there, but I'm guessing the shade is quite different. Verdigris Jelly over Solar US looking much more like Velociraptor than Pangea (Maybe Navy jelly over Solar US instead?).
I'm loving the formula in Techtonic shift/Molten Lava. I hope they do a purple one XD

ooh thats possible!! theres definitely more of a contrast in Pangea and the base is just so much darker too so it might be covering up the flakies more. maybe if they tried to use more flakies it would’ve affected the formula or something 🤔
sadly I don’t have Haunted Forest, but judging from the photos I think theres a much more prominent green flakie with somee of the red/purple sprinkled in, while Velociraptor is mainly red/orange/purple, but little to no green. I think the bases are similar though! and omg youre so right, idk how I forgot about Navy Jelly for Pangea and using Verdigris Jelly for Velociraptor!! I’ll try and share that on my stories later today but you can DM me if you miss it! :)

Why why why do companies release matte finishes? If I want a polish matte, matte top coat is sold pretty much everywhere. I would love these in a non-matte finish, but since they're forcing matte on us now it's impossible to get that true jelly look even with a glossy top coat over the matte. Huge bummer.
yeah matte isn’t my preferred finish either, but idk these all still seemed very squishy & jelly like to me once I put the glossy topcoat over them! 😬 so I do wonder how these matte + glossy topcoat would look next to ones that dried down glossy 🤔
I think the greens are beautiful. But I don't buy from this brand because I find them to be dishonest. I'm going to try to get the green from the new ILNP collection instead.
I know mooncat has suffered a pretty bad reputation from their over edited website photos, but I really do believe they’ve listened to the feedback they’ve gotten and have been working with more swatchers to show off their shades more accurately (I don’t know if the same is true for other brands). I definitely would love to know if there’s anything else you find dishonest about them though! but the green from ILNP is definitely a great option too :)
