  • Hi friends. Today we're testing out Highlander Druid after the patch. The two meaningful changes to this deck are that Reno and Zilliax now cost 1 more mana. I will say that it does matter, but Druid's ability to ramp in addition to the rest of their tools makes the changes less impactful than on other classes. Rheastrasza remains an incredibly high value win condition, and with fewer Reno Warriors in the meta, there isn't much that will remove the Dragon Nest anymore. I haven't yet tested Warrior, but Druid seems to be doing just fine.

The nerfs were lack luster. Delaying reno by one more turn CAN have an impact, but the card itself is too ridiculous in my opinion

It changed very little for this deck, yeah.

Not sure how I feel about Toyrantus. Feels like adding another card on top of Zilliax that if it gets yogg'd and you have no answer, probably going to lose. If there was more removal/mass removal available to Druids I'd put him in. Maybe I'm just frustrated by the lack of control tools for the class.

I've considered taking him out, but not because of enemy Yoggs. I feel like I can do better with that card slot.

Those were nerfes before a patch, so I didn't really expected the ones that would change the meta significantly. Maybe in 2 weeks after the expansion release

Highlander decks tend to get better as the card pool increases and there's more flexibility in the deckbuilding. The tourist mechanic will give us a huge card pool to work with, so I expect Highlander will stick.

Blizzard HS team makes me laugh they nerf mana costs but the game is infested with mana cheating and charge and direct damage to face so wtf hypocritical or what.

Nerfing mana cost is usually Blizzard's go-to for nerfing cards. To their credit, it did slow down my Reno by a turn, but it was a fringe situation.
