  • ** Important to not store your "Pool Shock" / powdered chlorine chemical anywhere where it can get damp or just a little bit wet. It's reactive and corrosive, off-gassing dangerous chemical gasses and even starting fires. Keep it stored away from metal and moisture, and don't store it where it can get over 110 degrees F. And have parents make the sanitizing solution in the little jars for their kids and keeping the rest of the powder somewhere else, stored safely.
    Using WHITE VINEGAR is another option for your putting in your sanitizing jars. It's easy to store, doesn't go bad, and isn't dangerous.

      I did too; had to laugh at her saying (at the end((no pun!))). "You're good-to-go."

    I'm glad she showed using toilet paper as an alternative to the cloth I would still have to throw those things in the washer.

    I have the heavy duty black rubber gloves because they can last a very long time without breaking or tearing. I remove the center cardboard tube on a toilet paper roll and squeeze the roll into a quart sized zip-lock bag. I was able squeeze 17 double sized 2 ply rolls into a waterproof ammo can.

    There was SO MUCH cross contamination going on...! This process can be done bettet---HINT: THOSE GLOVES are So contaminated; they need to be discardedll. .kudos for explaining the bidet usage; it's cute you used that buuny to gat the idea across--- 👍👣

      Hi Alva. Nope, those gloves are no more contaminated than your hands every time you go to the bathroom and then wash them with soap, which is what this process has you do with the gloves on - wash your gloved hands with soap.

    Love your video and am putting kits together for every member of the family. There is a better way, however, to turn your gloves right side out again without getting them close to your face. I hope I can explain clearly---you simply turn the glove as much as you can as you do in your demonstration the instead of blowing the fingers out just spin the opening shut then squeeze the trapped air into the fingers.

    Just a tip on bottles. Gardening bottles have a bent nozzle on the lid and are cheap to buy. Cut off the narrow end of the nozzle for a good strong spray. The bent nozzle makes it easier to reach those delicate parts for one's own body on the toilet.

    good video! she's an expert, i've started doing this using old shampoo bottles and don't trust myself to get totally clean unless using about 2 whole bottles of water (total of 1/2 liter). still getting used to not using TP, but glad to not have to line up early in the morning trying to find some on the store shelves. saves a lot of money in the long run.

      Then use vinegar for your disinfectant. It's simple, safe, and replenishable.

    I think this is a bit more complicated than it needs to be. You can use a perineal bottle of warm water to squirt to clean yourself & then just dry w/a washcloth. You can get bottles of perineal spray just like hospitals use that do not require rinsing.....spritz a little on a cloth, use to clean yourself. No gloves needed. Using regular soap is going to require a thorough rinsing.
    Perineal bottles are the poor man's bidet & the nice thing about them is most have a nozzle which simplifies the process.....fairly inexpensive. I got mine for $7. each.
    Food for thought: why are so many of us content using just dry tp after going to the toilet? Would we be OK using just dry tp to clean off #1 or #2 if it was anywhere else on us ? Probably not. We'd want water. Water cleans better.

    Nice video, where can you purchase the SPA chlorine chemical and about how much does it cost?

    • @3stepsorg
      @3stepsorg  9 лет назад

      Amazingly, you can get it dirt cheap through walmart online (not in the store). Go to their website and do a search for "pool shock". The one that comes up on the top for about $65 is 12 one-lb. bags, which are then less than $5.50 each. Buying a pound individually costs a lot everywhere. So we did a group buy between friends and got several cases and split them up between us. Each pound is packaged individually. Swimming pool supply stores also have it, but I don't know how much it is there.

      @@3stepsorg I made these three years ago after watching your video. When I pulled them out the metal ring on the mason jar was totally corroded, like almost completely gone. i noticed that you had a metal screw ring on your mason jar have you had any problems with that?

    Talk about over complicating a task. All you need is a good squirty bottle and a bit of dry cloth. Get a grip guys.
