A 2/9 88-91 Did a COT to 1/27 FA, MLRS. Stayed for 6 years that time. 15 years total. I LOVED GERMANY. In some places you'll think your back in the Middle Ages. The buildings survived. I lived in Schwabisch Gnuend. The house was built in 1450. We had all utilities except, no heating/ We had electric heaters in every room. The basement was cobblestone

This was my old unit from jan 74 to dec 78 and I have walked guard on this storage area many times ans sometimes for 30 days straight.
This was my MSA from 87 to 88 - I was in 2/4 infantry we guarded here. It was a stressful place. Always armed. Continually trying to keep infiltrators out. Lots of very interesting training.
D Battery 3/84 56FA Brigade 83-85. Jan 11th, 1985 at the Cassite at Camp Redleg we lost SSG John Leach, SGT Todd A. Zephier and PFC Darryl L. Shirley from C Battery.
