I agree. I’ve experimented before and haven’t quite nailed the tone and also some of the finger tricks. The closest sound I’ve had luck with was running a Hofner violin bass with flat wounds and/or my p bass with hybrid strings thru a tubed guitar amp lol I know it sounds crazy but it worked.

Yes he did! Roger and Pete helped him with some backing vocals. You can see him singing this song on Isle of Wight live footage, right at the beginning
good stuff.. definitely recommend dr high beams over rotosound strings.. they'll last longer and you don't have to replace em as much with that same bright tone

Haha I was only 4 when John passed away... I agree though, Pino is indeed a good bass player but John was a lead bass guitarist
