  • Vertical Jigging for Chinook (King) Salmon and other bottom species. I got onto a Salmon pattern pretty early into the morning which made for a great kayak fishing trip.

    Another Wonderful kayak fishing, I hope I can see you kayak fishing in West/North Vancouver sometime soon. 😃( cuz I live not far away from there ) I wanted to move to Chiliwack from Burnaby before but after I watched your kayak fishing videos, I have changed my mind moving to Nanaimo 🤣 ... Did you use L'il Nib Jigging Lure? If not, what did you use? If so, I would like to know what SIZE of L'il Nib Jigging Lure did you use? 2.2oz? 3/4oz?? or 5oz??? 😁

    • @BCFishingJournal
      @BCFishingJournal  Год назад +1

      Yes, using Lil’ Nib 2.2oz. If your fishing deeper with more tidal current, use the larger one.

    Thank you for the video! What brand is your kayak? Are there any pedal kayaks that you would recommend?

    • @BCFishingJournal
      @BCFishingJournal  Год назад +1

      Hey! Mine is an Old Town (brand). Salty 120 PDL (model). I’m looking to make a video on the full breakdown on my kayak and accessories. It really suits the type of fishing that I do on the ocean, and it certainly more than enough for any lake.
      As for recommendation, I’ve never tried any other pedal kayak than an Old Town. But I love their peddle drive. And I like the price point compared to Hobie, which was too much for me at this point.

      Thanks for the feedback!
      I have 40# braid as my mainline which is important for fishing deeper and no stretch in the line for hooksets. From the mainline I have a duolock (swivel) that connects a 20#-30# fluorocarbon leader (roughly 4 feet long).

      Launch out of Charlaine Ramp (near Pipers Lagoon). Easy access to the water there and parking available. You can go right out and fish or kayak along the coast.
