I'm a 91 year old USAF Vet, retired. I'm disabled and housebound, in Akron, so I thank you for this video. Many years ago, in Seattle, I met the Blue Angels pilots at the Museum of Flight. Their F 18's could go a lot faster than at the show -- how about Mach 1.8 @ 40,000 ft. almost 1400mph
Agreed, amazing airshow! However...Burke needs to be closed. You could put Cedar Point there and still have over 80 acre. The airport is basically private for the wealthy that can't do the 16 minutes from Hopkins. The land is owned by the Citizens of Cleveland and yet they can't use it. Cleveland needs to close Burke and develop the Lake like Chicago or Toronto. As much as a I truly love the Airshow, I would rather be able to enjoy the area year round.
@bobybob…..the idea sounds good, looks good on paper too….problem is the bums, homeless and criminals; they will flock to whatever attraction is built there and ruin it!
Thank you so much for posting this. I have disabilities that make it hard to go to the airshows. The drive from Akron to Cleveland and then be at the airshow is just too much. You posting this allowed me to see the Blue Angels. It means the world to me. Thank you!! ❤
The day before while Nathan Zegura from the Browns was flying with them, I was on the Blue Angels base getting stuff done. I live in Tampa but from Ohio, was on vacation near the base. The second team practiced that day on base. Great video!!
Thanks for the post. Never get tired of them! One crowd comment: Why do people that have FRONT ROW seats feel the need to stand? It only blocks the view for others.
My gf (at the time) and I volunteered for our local air show down in Bloomington IL back in the mid 90's. Just so happens that was the year the Blue Angels picked us for one of their performances that season. As volunteers, we got to attend an appreciation meet-and-greet dinner with all the pilots the night before the show, and I and my gf got to meet each one individually. Not only are they awesome pilots, but they're also awesome human beings! Anyways, got to watch them perform both days of the show while working tending bar at one of the VIP tents (we were only serving beer, which I had to constantly sample myself, of course, in order to ensure the proper temperature was being maintained. . .). The cherry on top was that the Thunderbirds were performing up in Chicago that very same weekend, and after Sunday's show was over and most people had left, they did a low level fly-by of our airport on their way home in a "salute" to their Naval counterparts! One of the very few times both the Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds ever made an appearance at the same place on the same day! Anyways, that was an awesome weekend! ;)
Could see some of this while waiting in line at Progressive Field and also once we got to our seats. They flew very close to the field a few times which was awesome to see.
Thank you for posting the video. I've been to Burke for t j.g e airshow a few times but i was out on the boat for this one and directly under the high speed pass....excellent show❤ much respect for all who defend us on land and in air but sorry Thunderbirds....the Blue Angels are my favorite.
13:02 I was at the air show and I had to say, both those sonic booms knocked my socks off. Was paying attention to the first one, and the second one took me completely by surprise. Would hate to be the enemy my goodness
Was there Monday. Number 2 had to land at the beginning due to a mechanical issue. He got in Number 7 and rejoined the performance. Wonder if he hit a bird?
I didn’t get the chance to go this year but I did decide to take a nap Saturday between my errands and got woke up by one of them whizzing 100 feet over my house…sometimes I feel like I live a little too close to the lake…
Amazing video, Kyle! I'd like to chat with you about speaking to the North Ridgeville Arts Council (about 20 minutes west of downtown Cleveland) about how to photograph and/or video the Blue Angels or other "stunt" aircraft. I just sent you a LinkedIn connection request to start a conversation.
I’m a little disappointed in the crowd’s reaction, I mean this is not something everyone gets to see and it is phenomenal, especially when watching it live.

When did the high speed pass happen,
Take a look at 13:00
What happened to the dirty roll on takeoff? Their whole routine sucks now. They got rid of several profiles they used to fly with the legacy Hornet.
@@kel50pp I believe they switched out BA#5 with BA#7 at the last minute, causing it to not taxi with BA#6. At least that is my best guess!

To each their own but I myself prefer pilots that can land on moving landing strips in the dark of night.
