Since I was in township schools, I couldn't practice my English with other kids from primary to early years of high school. This meant I had to learn to speaking English by converting my thoughts to English. Now, it is my most preferred language because it is more elastic and it is deeper than my Xhosa language. There are many words that isiXhosa doesn't have, and English is more deeper in that sense. It is not as deep as the greek and hebrew language but it is deeper than our limited african languages.
Your language of ease determines your audience and reach. For Nathi his target audience is the Xhosa people and there is nothing wrong with that at all but we are not all the same because we are not here for the same purpose. I'm more comfortable and fluent praying in English because even the books I read and my bibles are English books. That is not something to judge anyone about, because I don't have your level of fluency in Sotho or Xhosa but that does not mean you're not intelligent. Not being fluent in English or not being able to read and write doesn't mean you are not intelligent.

Our subjects at school are taught in English, so the mind and tongue get used to this language. Also God does not discriminate according to language.

Language is very powerful, try this, pray in foreign language and then in your mother tongue and see the difference

Don’t be defensive. ‘Innerstand’ what he is saying. I converse with friends and family in English all the time because of having pvt school education forced on us by our parents who were and it was the trend at the time and still is if you want to give your children and better chance in life. Good English opens doors because we are forced to exist in this superficial world. But spiritually it is the language of our ancestors that opens doors more easily.

All these languages were given by the same God so He understands them all perfectly,no discrimination bro please!! Love you

Great discussion, I respect this brother's views.
On talent, we overlook how family doesn't support their talented child but want them to go find work and make money because they don't see that talent as something sustainable. In some cases, families want to be the negotiator for their talented child and ruin their chances because they want to benefit off the success when it happens.
On english and confidence, it depends on where you are. People who move from a Tswana or Sepedi speaking community to Zulu, Xhosa or any other community also face the same language barrier. English is more accesible and doesnt have to sound perfect or meet hollywood standards, if you are confident in what you are saying it ususally translates despite you not sounding like you grew up in the surburbs.
On praying in your own language, many black churches in townships have been praying in their own language but nothing has changed for them, but there's a language of the heart and I belive when we are still and quite, the messages that come through our spirit defies language, culture and any other barrier to accessing the God within us.

Tjoooooo! Nathi! Imagine praying in Xhosa saying: UGquma barwaqele, uThixo oziqu zithathu emnye. In English you simply say: You thunder and people fear, you are Triune. Uyabona imfutshane kanjani? uThixo understands all languages kaloku.
