I am Jewish, a Knicks fan since birth and have not seen the Knicks win a Championship since I was 10 years old (1973). That being said, I have emunah and loved this video. May HaShem bless Amare Stoudemire and his family and friends. Truly an amazing guy in so many ways. Hopefully I will see the Knicks win the championship again, with Amar'e watching in the Garden.
He is humble he is serious with his beliefs and the fact that he talked about Shmirat Enayim I have more respect for him now, he is genuine I hope he finds a nice Wife soon
He's genuine????? What else would he be....it's his true nationality and culture!!!!!! Minus the Yiddish because that's something the European Jews pick up in Germany!!!
I have a jersey card of Amar'e that I got when I was younger and I used to look at it and it would always make me smile. It is my birthday and I needed a smile and I found this. This is remarkable and beautiful and makes me so happy. I think watching all of you brings me closer to Hashem, if I was there I would have a really hard time not asking Amar'e for his autograph. Absolutely love this!!!
What an amazing person Amar’e/Yehoshafat is! G-d bless him. A man who has chosen Hashem through his desire for truth and sincerity and isn’t afraid of it outshining his incredible talent and fame. Simply admirable. G-d bless🙏🏻
My favourite part in a Documentary I saw, was a scene of Amar’e towering over few little guys around the Bima, saying it was the first time he doesn’t feel out of place 😄How cute is that.
Fascinating interview. Kudos on your insightful questions. Knicks and Amar'e fan for many years. Loved watching his thunderous dunks and dominating the boards at MSG. Extraordinary his journey from 6-time NBA MVP living the lavish life to conversion becoming a devoutly religious Jew who puts G-d first above all. Life lesson in humility. Amar'e Stoudemire Superstar Mensch
As a sports fan and a meaningful minute fan. You guy do an amazing job each and every interview. I do think it was important to discuss his journey from the NBA to Judaism. However I do think there was a lot of questions asked regarding the NBA that was no necessary. Keep up the great work!
Hey Yaakov here. I seriously know nothing about sports. We did know that basketball plays a large role in Amar’e’s life and so many people were coming to this episode to hear about his entire journey. Thanks for the feedback! Hopefully the next time we have him on we’ll ask more questions!
Hi Yakov, thank you for giving the time to give a response and I fully agree with what you are saying and there are definitely a lot of people tuning in to hear about his NBA life as well. I do think (and I may be wrong) no one is tuning in to hear what he thinks about Jeremy Lin. Interviews In general are very difficult and you both do a wonderful job.
@@shlomosafdeye9730 I loved the part about "Linsanity"! It was a great overcoming story and Amar'e was so happy for him! It told us more about Amar'e's kind and positive spirit.
I am a huge fan of your podcasts. I was a bit skeptical and didn't think this would interest me. I have zero interest in sports. How wrong I was!!! This is over the top, just like all your other podcasts. You never cease to amaze me, and I think you are both so blessed. You have truly enriched my life. I am already looking to enjoy and be inspired by your next one! A great grandmother.
I have to hand it to Amar'e, it takes real courage to give up the fame, the money, the reputation, and just say some things in life are more important than all that, and move to Israel. And he clearly could have played for several more years in the NBA. Yes, he still was involved in basketball in Israel but it was a huge downgrade from the NBA.
What an amazing interview !! 💪💪🙏🏻🙏🏻 Round 2 if you can ask about his relationship with Nissim black and other orthodox black Jews that would be awesome
It's just an amazing move what he did, he was a huge player. I just hope he manages to withstand the many trials of converts. For those who have questions about these- ruclips.net/video/7UNKZZRBhOY/видео.html
The grandfather of Rabbi Tal, rabbi at the Sephardic Temple Teferith Israel in Los Angeles, introduced the game of basketball in Israel. His father was one of the Olympic basketball coaches for Israel. That’s how his parents met. I always think that that’s just such a beautiful ❤ story!
It's funny that some Orthodox Jews don't know to much about MalkiTzedek. I guess we don't teach about him a lot. In the Mystical world in and out of Judaism he has great importance.
Can you ask him who’s his rebbe now and what’s his current daily schedule like? Also who’s his chavrusa ? 😉 and are his children following in his path?
Absolutely fantastic interview. The rabbi is a real tzadik. It's written kashim gerim leysrael, after seeing and listening to him , we have to be better, lehitchazek in irath Shamim . Meu hashem send him a good woman and he should have a Jewish family.
I understand that yiddishkeit refers to Jewishness both in terms of practicing Judaism and the culture of being a Jew. However, I think its an important distinction that the term itself makes more sense in terms of Ashkenazi jewry. But there is Jewishness that is different expressed in sepharidic, Mizrahi, cochin etc circles
Interesting interview although I don’t believe that eating any dead animal is clean. It’s dead. I don’t believe we were created to eat animals. It doesn’t assimilate with our body. So on that aspect, I believe we are still very miss informed. But still I enjoyed hearing his amazing journey and he sounds like an incredible individual.
The so called black Hebrew Israelites are a racist Christian group like the kkk. They have the same theology. Stoudmire isn’t one of them. The ones in Dimona are racist towards the Jews and are getting deported.
@@MeaningfulPeople I didn’t know who it was, but maybe it was the pronunciation. I love that he likes to study midrash as well. Lots of beautiful stories in the midrash, they don’t always go hand-in-hand with the PARSHA, but they do have such a deeper understanding it’s my favorite part of study.
ask him if the israeli players learned from him from his courage to go religous if it rubbed off on them? as far as the knicks they are nowhere close to as good as when they had patrick ewing and bernard king and john starks and charles oakley
In Christianity in the Book of Hebrews MalchiTzedek is Something like an Angel, that had no beginning. It appears to me that he still has doubts in his faith. I'm in 55 minutes in, and this interviewer's haven't even asked one normal question about faith and Judaism. @@shhiknopfler3912 we know from source that malchitzedek was another name for Shem......I agree with you that I wish they would have asked more questions like that and less about sports.......I didn't quite get that. Could have read sports illustrated for that......more about the theological ques would have been nice although I guess they weren't gearing for that.
What an incredible man, how he synthesized Judaism in his life is beautiful, slow and steady to reach his goal, wow. Gosh, what a nice fellow.
