The last few years using the "man with a harmonica" from Once Upon a Time in the West makes this song one of the best live concert moments since Van Halen or Queen
This is sick man. It always blew me away thinking of how Matt Bellamy can write and perform such masterful music. I mean the part where he’s harmonizing his voice along with the guitar is just insane.
I saw the guitar and I was like, great let's see how this is gonna sound. Then this guy pulls out natural tremolo without the bar and it is better than any cover on RUclips even with a bar. Nice job, bud.
Baka Makes a difference in sound depending on what strings you’re playing. So if he played this riff on the 19th fret but played all the correct notes you’d see no problem with it???
@@fanieldox Well, then it'd make a difference because that'd be a whole octave higher. However, sometimes a riff that's played on the low E string can also be played on the A string. I've seen people flip out about that before.
On some covers people just use the usual tabs where the hand doesn't move at all. To me it sounds sloppy and doesn't have that 'pull-off' sound. Plus, pulling off the right notes actually looks cool, appearance wise.
I am learning this and seeing your movement to reposition fingers while already playing is an eyeopener. I am teaching myself and using rocksmith to learn, and this was cool to see.
Come ride with me Through the veins of history I'll show you a God Falls asleep on the job And how can we win, When fools can be kings Don't waste your time Or time will waste you No one's going to take me alive Time has come to make things right You and I must fight for our rights You and I must fight to survive No one's going to take me alive Time has come to make things right You and I must fight for our rights You and I must fight to survive No one's going to take me alive Time has come to make things right You and I must fight for our rights You and I must fight to survive
My one criticism is the constant jumping between camera angles, which I know is the current school of thought in media schools as they think the average viewer gets bored with the same view after 3 seconds, but this is an instructional video and I would have quite happily watched the entire video from the third camera angle (the one from the pickups looking up the fret board) as this gives the viewer the best view of where the fingers are placed.
I'm a Muser and i can tell he nailed that masterpiece with his Gibson Le Paul guitar. Even the trompet is present in the backround (live version), a must.
If this song really makes it to the RDR soundtrack, it's really cool, it really feels like a cowboy, especially playing RDR while listening to this song.
the skills required to play these bits individually actually aren't that complicated, by far the hardest part as with any song though is putting this all together and being able to switch between them fluently and get the song done without fucking up, which brings the difficult up from fairly easy to really quite difficult
Thanks for the comment. I wish I could start making these videos again but unfortunately they take so long to make, I don't have time any more thanks to my 9 to 5. Hopefully one day I'll get back into it, it doesn't help that the record companies slap ads on the them and take all the revenue, I've never made a penny from these videos.
I have been coming back here for about 3 or 4 weeks, but the song is finally starting to come together nicely. The part after the barre chords and the 5-4-2 3-4-4 2-2-2 part is still a bit off, but I'm gonna get there. Superb video, thank you for the inspiration!
Nice one, that's good to hear. This is the trickiest part for me as well, it can be hard to stop the right hand becoming too tense. Try doing some hand stretching and focus on keeping it relaxed, it helped for me when I was learning. Good luck
What are you using for the fuzz tone lead at 0:41? Neck pickup seems like it would be the move but youre using the bridge in your video, did you double track it with the neck pick up?
I'm starting to learn guitar (with a teacher). For 1 month now. I'm just starting now Aura Lee and Oh when the saints :D. Still far from this level of skills but I hope to get there sooner or later! Matt Bellamy is probably the one who made me want to learn how to play guitar haha
I was just starting out last year too. I think I'm coming along nicely. I suggest learning pentatonic scales, and how to connect them up and down the neck, if you want to get into playing rock music.
This song live is EPIC, I still having goosebumps
It is amazing live! Best song of the night when I saw them.
Muse was a blur of epic, start to finish, when I saw them in 2017.

@@callummacey983 why are you starting a fight over a space in a word? Let's just enjoy the music!

It's so ironic that you hasn't a tremolo, and your cover is the best around RUclips.
I see you graduated from the Alanis Morissette school of irony! 😉
pretty sure the original was the same but i could be wrong

The intro to this song is absolutely amazing. It’s one of my favorites from any band. It’s the reason I became a muse fan to begin with.

Wow!!! 🤯
That tremolo... and that extra fast picking at 3:30 are crazy!!! 👌
This is by far the most epic guitar cover by the Muse I have ever seen! It's my favorite track on the album. Thank you for sharing this bro!
I was desperate for the camera to pan up at the end and show Matt Bellamy sat there grinning!

finally someone who gets the positioning in the riff at 3:58 correct!
As long as the notes are correct, I don't really see why the position matters.
