In New York there were Puerto Ricans using the N-word in the 70's. In the 80's the N-word was being used among other latinos (dominicans, colombians, cubans, ecuadorians). In the 90's it became very common. In the 2000's it almost became the norm. There's a video on youtube from the mid-80's of Hector Camacho using the N-word on live tv after a boxing match.

Words cannot describe the love I had out there even with all of my struggles in life I could always find love and care out there and it really molded me into the loving and caring man that I am today or atleast try to be I recognize that ALL people simply lack understanding of one another but we must push hard to bridge those gaps and being communities together for the right reasons

As a black native Texan who is now residing in Florida i will say he is telling the truth. I was shocked when I realized that hispanics down here put their guard up around me and i had to check myself because it offended me. I expected to feel the same love, acceptance and 'home' essence that Im used to feeling with Mexicans at home (H-town on dat nawf 44), and was devestated and disgusted that i received the opposite here. I had to learn a different culture to understand 'why' things were different. Even though i understand Florida's history with hispanics now, which is why hispanics are different here, i still miss my Texan hispanics. Where there is love and respect in our culture (generally speaking), there is an extreme and blatant divide in Floridas (generally speaking). It really is an acceptance of culture thing, all hispanics are not the same just like all black people are not the same.
In Texas hispanics and black people are one. In Florida we are VERY different.
The best part, for me, is when Floridians ask me where Im from. I swear my heart swells with pride lol. Houston baby...fuck wit me.😌

@@RuthlessGK745it’s not, I’m bron and raised here and Hispanics and Zoe’s 🇭🇹 all reside in the same neighborhoods because we’re poor, we live by the intersections like I-95 going north to the south, from Miami to Jacksonville, and even the Yankees which black Americans who are way different then Zoe’s who are island people. We all show the same parks, same school, same blocks, corner stores. Yes some Hispanics Tend to be MORE racist than whites, they feel superior, Salvadorians , Hondurans and Mexicans DONT GET ALONG. They always fight at bars, nightclubs and soccer games, machetes vs bats, and sometimes they go at it amongst there self’s. Florida is basically every race, ethnicity, cultures in one state, everyone comes here to hide, run, get away, vacation, work, for it all, FLORIDIANS born here, no matter the race, don’t like New Yorkers , Georgia (ATL specifically) Cali, and most states that gang bang because they come here thinking they gone press they line, not knowing EVERY Floridian carry’s and we gone claim self defense EVERY-TIME. We are conservatives who will protect our land from out of states that want to establish anything, yes we have gangs like Zoepound, Top6, Bloods, Latin Kings , MS13 18st but they all watered down washed out and it ain’t the real thing, no ese’s , Folks , just drug dealers and crackheads, and rich billionaires retiring by the water while we all tryna survive with our 9-5s and extra side hustles like construction jobs and car detailing, all that. That’s Florida for you in a big paragraph 😂you don’t have to read it g I just wanted y’all to get a glimps of Florida, pretty chill out here, everyone scared of sheriffs for the most part, unless you in Jacksonville or Miami

@@RuthlessGK745 From what I've learned, each minority group has a horrible story to tell when being introduced to Florida. Integration is happening yet the process is slow due to scars running deep.
For example, Cubans weren't allowed to rent, work, or exist in what was considered 'high end' areas. They had to be strong while enduring open racism while still being grateful for sanctuary somehow. They were forced to become fortified due to routinely being treated as 'less than' or 'trash', all the while mourning the loss of their home. So they came together and handled their business. The execution was FLAWLESS and I love it!! Cubans established beautiful communities where respect and love were taught instead of 'you are less than' (shout out to Hialeah 🖤💜🖤💜). They were trying to heal. This beautiful, pure love was justly defended but became corrupted ultimately growing into defensiveness throughout the years. Being from Houston, I'm used to 'spanglish,' and being immediately accepted when I see Hispanic people. I couldn't understand why most were so standoffish or would flat out refuse to acknowledge my presence upon first meeting in Florida. I felt rejected and was so insulted and hurt I yelled at a woman in spanglish one day while crying, asking why they hate me. Her and I still laugh about how I snapped to this day🤣😂🤣 my lil heart was broken yall 🤣😂🤣She responded back with firey tears and shared her cultures pain with me. I'm a black woman.
      I understand.
Another one, of many cultures unfortunate introductions to Florida were Haitian people. For example, some parts of South Florida used to have, what I personally call, haitian beat-up day. It's EXACTLY what it sounds like. Their used to be, community accepted, days where high-school kids would physically assault all Haitians they could find after school.
A lot of families had to come to Florida for safety due to corruption and violence. Haitians were unjustly met with so much more corruption and violence by black floridians it's infuriating.
There's so much pain in Floridian history, the change is beautiful to witness yet so unimaginably slow it can hurt.
Its like I'm out here doing the lawds work in S. Florida when all I want is some tamales and corn carnitas tacos with tomatillo and a couple slices of lime from a taco truck. Now, my energy be like: "It's the HOLIDAYS THOOOOOO...yall gon give me some dayum tamales and tacos dammit.....SoOoOoOoOoOooooooooo go ahead and be my friend bc I know some yall making some tamales tonight. Aye! I got some masa in the Truuuuuunk...sOoOoooo let me get in the assembly line bc I know yall could use an EXTRA pair of hands. Hmu when yall get out of Mass ok?🤣🤣🤣

I would actually recommend learning Nahuatl if you’re so interested in Native American history. I’d like to share something interesting about “Indios”, the name given to the Indigenous peoples. It was originally “Gente en Dios.” Columbus traveled to this region with 2 Hebrew translators. This name later was shortened to “En Dios”. Then later bastardized to “Indios”. Probably by English speakers trying to say “En Dios” pronouncing it “In Dios”. India didn’t officially take its name till centuries later. But I digress. Yes, the land Texas has was once Mexico. Idk why people like to be reminded that Mexico lost. I’d try to forget if that were me.

I agree with the respect shown and received. It’s stronger to recognize real and not cross a line which has been established out of respect. Even if someone else tries to tell you “it’s okay” etc., it’s not okay internally, and that shows maturity to not indulge in a fruit nobody should eat from. No disrespect to culture etc., but there is strength in restraint. It’s not even tempting at that point, it’s internalized law. It is a culture thing in Texas
Personally I was raised in the hood went to a all black and Hispanic Elementary, middle, and high school.
For me it really all started in middle school I was introduced to the hood hood. I saw drugs, children of dope dealers and junkies. when those type of kids are around you and embrace their culture to you it grows on you and it becomes the way you talk.
I learned to love the black community for their culture, music, artist, etc, but I never lost my true roots. I’m a Mexican from heart but was raised to be respectful and humble. It really is a Texas Thang we got love and show love ❤️
I think social media fucked everything up now you got average ass people who wasn’t raised in the hood talking all this slang and acting like their from the hood. It’s weird seeing it now that I’m grown but ey that’s social media for y’all.

As a black guy, I see Mexicans using the N-word as a term of endearment to the culture. Most of us Afros don't care about Mexicans using the n-word. All that stuff is just internet politics from people that got nothing else to do but look for things to criticize. Those types are in every race. People shouldn't be offended by somebody else calling themselves the n-word, that's really not our business, to think we own words people use as terms of endearment to and among themselves. But again I think it's just internet politics and a non issue in real life for most of us.
