    The Story :
My friends started this band called Radaghast in 2022, and on Sunday, March 5th, 2023 they performed their first live show in St. Petersburg, Florida at WEEF at Heiress Gallery.
I brought 5 different cameras to the show, passed the cameras out to my friends, and said "film each song all the way through, otherwise do whatever you want, and if you get bored just pass it on to someone else."
    The cameras used were :
    - Sony A7sii
    - Sony Handycam Video 8 XR
    - Sony Handycam XAVC S 4K
    - HD Sony Handycam HDR-XR260
    - Canon PowerShot G7X
The audio was recorded on the internal microphone of a Tascam DR-40 Linear PCM Recorder. I placed it on a platform about 2/3rds of the way up the wall in the right back corner of the room. Audio has never been my strong point, but I'm pretty happy with how the sound ended up. The mix includes some of the audio captured on the cameras as they were moving around as well.
Pros : The mix definitely captured the sound of the room. I love the little off camera conversations that meld into the song. The recording, in my opinion, scratches that LoFi-DIY feel that lends itself perfectly to the film style of this project. It's funny how synchronicities work out.
Cons : Certain audiophiles will immediately stop watching this video. Its hard to understand the vocals sometimes. Most complexity is lost in the LoFi-DIY drone. (I am not an audio person at all, and have no clue what I'm doing lol)
Why did I do this project? And why in this manner?
Music is what all other art aspires to be. It's the quickest to be understood, to mobilize, to inspire. If there's no music scene, then there's no scene whatsoever. Myself, personally, I realized a long time ago that my friends are who/what inspire me the most. I love them to death, and without them this creative drive I have would die. The most fun I have ever experienced is creating with my friends, and with this project I wanted to push that concept. As an independent film director I've learned that if I want my crew to be the best it can be, then I should, to the best of my ability, remove as much stress as possible from them so that they can solely concentrate on the task they most excel at. So for this project I didn't even tell anyone I was doing it, not even the band. No one had time to be nervous, I just approached friends who came to the show, passed them cameras, explained the quick idea, and then told them to have fun. They didn't have to worry about the edit, or what the finished project would end up being. All they had to do was have fun holding a video camera. Which, as a camera operator, filming in this style gives one the opportunity to experiment, get crunchy, get weird, and maybe accidentally find something new to use in a more produced project in the future.
I hope you enjoy or enjoyed the video. This is the third posted but the second song in a set of five. Each song will eventually be posted separately, and the entire set will also be eventually posted as one video.
"Perfection is for gods and failures."
    - Filipe Bergson
(P.S. we already have another project like this on the editing block, and the audio was actually recoded by the musician. It sounds so good!)
