What? I live in Korea but I have never felt a threat of war.I have not been threatened since the Korean War 70 years ago.North Korea's serious provocation is annoying, but there is no sign of war.North Korea doesn't even fight nuclear. Korea has similar economy, military, and per capita gdp as Japan. Korea is safe and public security is the top 10 in the world. Like Singapore. The perception of South Korea is not North Korea, war, danger, etc. It is a bright and safe country at night.

Chinese has a powerful cultural heritage that spread all around Asia. No countries can take that from China. They are the most powerful in culture, politics and economy, there were a big income gap and disparity between the population but its getting better .
Japan is the most westernized and most developed between the 4 nations also influenced by Chinese culture. Even though, Japan has a very unique culture trait.
South Korea is now considered a developed nation with a comfortable life level. It has a very strong soft power and communicate well about its countrie's image worldwide.

the most crucial factor that led to economic success was the

an important role in triggering Korea’s compressed economic

from Japan. Even in the late 1980s after Official Development
Assistance (ODA) from Japan to Korea had ended, as much as
30 percent of total imports still came from Japan. In addition,

China is different from Europe. Even in minority autonomous regions, the proportion of Han people is more than 50%. There are also many ethnic minorities in the areas where the Han people gather. Although there are different cultures, the overall gap is small, and ethnic minorities can enjoy many preferential policies (as Han people, I really want to be ethnic minorities! Then the college entrance examination will be easier! God, you don't know how much pressure China's college entrance examination is)

I hope people in S.Korea, China and Japan like each others someday. We experienced complicated histories. So, I understand that some people still hate each countries. But, we also share many cultures. Now is time to focus on the future. If we cooperate, we can achieve more than what western countries did.
    From South Korea🇰🇷

    • @seungk2349

@JT Yang Well, although the economic scale of east Asia is larger than EU and America, the relationship between the three countries are not stable enough to make an organization such as EU. Therefore, the importance of America is still high. It is also true that America has cooperated with S.Korea and Japan for decades. But, it doesn't matter to improve the relationship between the three east Asian countries. China also cooperates with Russia. The union of east Asia does not mean that being against to western countries. By improving the relationship of us, we can be against to Asian discrimination and increase the importance of east Asia. But, I also agree that America doesn't want the cooperation of these three countries. Thus, S.Korean and Japanese governments should be more brave to make a new era.

As Chinese, I could speak very frankly that I do benefit from the economic growth a lot, and I am very appreciative towards these measures. But I won't shy away from our country's problems either: growing wealth gap, economic structure reformation, territorial disputation with Japan and India, internal demands for political reform(as the number of middle-class citizens increases) and most realistically, the inevitable conflict with the US. But I honestly wish our nation could come over with these obstacles on the way and build a better and long-standing relationship with at least south-east Asia countries in the world!

Jun Its true that south Korea’s economy is a miracle. Maybe 10 years later the GDP per capita of South Korea will surpass Japan. Although South Korea is not so powerful in the world as USA or China, the country is making progress in an amazing speed. And if one day the two Korea reunite ( north and south, in my opinion they will reunite again for their similarity of ethnic and culture, it’s a inevitable tendency if Korea are still making progress just like now), the country will be economically strong with nuclear power, it will be a very powerful and potential country like Goryeo country and become one of the most influential countries in the world. I hope east Asia great again.

Japanese median wealth per adult is higher than the most of western countries and sure higher than poor Korean. In addition, income comparison is a joke, because western countries, especially Germany and Northern European nations have also heavy taxes.
And when it comes to the comparison of mean wealth per adult, at least Japan ranks at higher than Germany, though Germany is one of the lowest-ranked one in the developed countries. (Of course, S.Korea ranks at lower than Germany)
And PPP is not such a reliable index, because PPP calculation really lacks of consideration of many important economical factors, such as price competition among the same category products or taxes imposed on each goods.

@Pinkpunch Japan's 1975-1995 were truly amazing. This gave a rise to the notion of Japan being super expensive. Yes, at that time Japan's per capita income was higher than ANY other country with the exception of Switzerland, Norway and Luxembourg (all put together with population less than 10% of Japan). Unfortunately, Japan's work culture which worked well for , at that time, a developing economy - does not bode well for a post-industrilised country with a rapidly aging population. Japan now, in 2020, is FUCKED. Children (i.e. 0-15) are only about 10% of the population, the elderly (65+yrs) are already 31% (and rising quickly). GDP is at 1990 level. Graduate salaries are at 1987 level. The wage difference between bosses and junior workers is increasing. Japan is perhaps the first country of very rich grandparents with young people 20-30 who are actually really poor (poorer than most young Europeans). Average salary is only about 200,000yen for young people here and DOES NOT rise. Many people just do 'baito' (part-time jobs) and this is before the corona virus hit in an economy where the gov't debt stands at over 250% of GDP (the highest on the planet). Immigration is a new thing here (from Vietnam, Phillipines etc) but it's tough - language and especially the culture. Japan is highly racist, or rather than racist I should say xenophobic, you will NEVER be treated as a Japanese person. Japan is utterly doomed. Very sad. I dont see how it can possibly recover. It does not think the Western world does. Japan will be glad if it can even maintain a flatlining GDP levels.
