Non Final Fantasy Fan Reacts To FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn - A New Beginning REACTION

A Realm Reborn is just fascinating. FFXIV before this was a complete failure of a game. At the end, they handed the reigns over to a new game director, Naoki Yoshida, in the hopes he could salvage the disaster that was 1.0. He decided it wasn't salvageable as it was, and ended the game with a special event. That being the Red Moon falling from the heavens. When it finally fell, the game closed it's doors and the servers were shut off. But then players were greeted with first half of this trailer, after which being told the game will come back, reborn. They literally remade the game from the ground up after literally burning the old game. It became so successful that, 10 years later, it's still going strong.

This trailer was shown right after 1.0 died. FFXIV wasn't doing too well technically, the current team have been tasked to redo the entire game from the scratch. For those online at the set for the end of 1.0, the image cut to this trailer, when the red moon finally felt on the land. It is an introduction to the new story, while the old one was just crushed and burned, as shown in this trailer.

The world of the game Final Fantasy XIV 1.0 was destroyed in this epic battle which you see at the beginning of the trailer. Final Fantasy XIV 2.0 is A Realm Reborn because they literally destroyed the game and made it anew.
Just to be clear, the main character does not travel between worlds until Shadowbringers. That comment you got reacting to the Shadowbringers trainer was kinda full of spoilers, as you would expect. Hopefully continuing to watch the trailers in order will help clear some things up.
