- Rainbow War is a dazzling 20 minute film in which three kingdoms, one Blue, one Red, and one Gold, fight a colorful battle for supremacy. Paint buckets, brushes, and rollers are the weapons in their splashy slapstick struggle. But in the end all are winners. The confrontation transforms into collaboration and colors blend into the first known rainbow.
Rainbow War was nominated in the "Best Live Action Short" category for the 58th Academy Awards by the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS).

OMG I haven't seen this in ages! I always remembered him flying in the big hula-hoop leaving those 80s streaking effects.
The first time I saw this movie 10 years ago, I thought this is the most beautiful and amazing short film I've ever seen. This is what art and beauty is really like and should always be like.
Omg I've been looking for this movie forever, I kept thinking it was called The Color War! I remember checking it out from the library and watching it when I was tiny. Does anyone happen to know if its up somewhere to watch it online?

I remember this from Expo 86, it was awesome.
Red, yellow and blue, i enjoyed this when i was a kid.

It's odd how as children certain things mesmerize us for some reason, isn't it? For instance, the Snitch from Harry Potter seemed like the coolest thing ever to me when I was young. I wanted it so bad! But now, while I still think it's cool, I no longer have a strong desire to see it in real life.

@Yokonono99 I can always spot Ryan - I guess he just looks so goofy that he's hard not to spot - but I can never find Colin.
I'm quite proud of this being a Canadian film. Canada has long embraced the idea of diversity, that a rainbow is symbolic of Canada's constant principle of multi-culturalism that there is no such thing as one type of Canadian, but as of today there are almost 35 million different types of Canadians, no one being dominant over the other.
