I have this bike. As in all these bike ads, the quoted range is complete rubbish, a ride I took this morning of 19 miles using mostly the two lowest settings left me just able to get home with low power level in the red. To get any reasonable range you need to be on Eco on level ground and weigh the same as a jockey, use it to power up a hill and it sucks the battery dry. One of the reasons it's light is that it has a small battery in the frame. It is a nice bike to ride though.
Range is always overstated. I have a Magnum Peak T5 (not available in the UK, it's a 500W motor) that I chose because it's s generic battery pack. Came with 15Ah but I bought a 21Ah for extended range. I do 30-40 mile rides on weekend and no range worries, using tour and sport settings (eco is the lowest, just offsets the extra weight of the bike).
I know a lot about bikes, been a keen cyclist since I was a kid. I also have a Super 73 RX and many other bikes in my Garage. Sur Ron Ordered too to go biking on trails.
We live in the Highlands and have two e-Ranger Bikes from Lincolnshire. They have been fantastic. Yes, heavyish but really powerful on these steep hills and a 60 mile range . Very happy indeed. Nice dashboard too ! All the information you need ! As for Electric Cars I'll keep to my Isuzu D'max pick up truck ! Bike won't tow the animal trailers ! 🤪
Great video lee, but can't be better than your super 73, put this bike in a cold shed or garage over winter and your battery will die for good, these e bikes with fixed batteries are useless.
Be very very careful Lee. Ebikes and Escooters are a lot of fun but only ever charge whilst awake and store outside in the rare but potentially catastrophic results should it self combust.
An excellent review of a Fiido ebike Lee. Looks a proper practical ebike too. glad to hear about the optional mud guards and the bluetooth lock! Awesome. Thanks for the heads up!
I also have this bike and the range is as limited as others have said. I do have the range extender battery as well though which overcomes that issue. It really is a fun bike to ride and, unlike other brands I contacted, the customer service was actually very good and responsive when I had issues connecting the extra battery. I would and do recommend it. Got me back on a bike after surgery.

My Raleigh Mustang Elite is that weight, less 3.5kg when I remove the battery to lift it onto the roof bars. Nice to ride, long range and handles well - carbon front forks and mid-drive motor. Good and healthy to assist at my age and health - wouldn't get out and about otherwise!
Hi Lee no back mudguard one will get soaked in the wet, also my friend I have watched all your EV bike videos and correct me if I am wrong but you have endorsed each one.🤔❤️
A rear pannier would carry bags and keep water from the road from staining your clothes... Pannier bags are a game changer for doing everyday things. Even, here where it is usually dry, rain and snow is a serious issue for regular clothes. I couldn't imagine using an e-bike. Cycling is the best form of exercise. But, I'm stubborn; I even use a dumb-phone. I recently lost a 1982 Huffy 10-speed, best bike I've ever had.

Mr.Lee, you are a good salesman, the Fiido is a neat looking E - bike... I will stick with my TREK 6000 MTB i need the excercise due to our cold NSW winter in Oz 😩 Au
I have had one for a few weeks. Agree it is nicely subtle. In reality you can get about 15 miles. But it is light. Mudguards are a pain to fit. A lot lighter than my last one, I just hope it lasts as long.
Ahead of winterised full mudguards, just fit a small plastic 'Ass-Saver' under the seat. You might also want a suspension-seatpost on that or ride with a wrap-around lower-back protector, such as a motocross kidney belt (I use and recommend a Leatt 3DF Kidney Belt).
18kg is not an ultra light bicycle, it is a very heavy bicycle. My steel tourer (across countries) weighs 15kg. Still, it's a good looking bike, 250w is the same as the Orbea "just enough" bikes, but l'm not convinced, l'm 60 now and after 30/40miles in the Dales l'd like a bit of help in my last hour back home making it less of a chore, but that's offset by having 8kg more to peddle around prior than my normal road bike. Good review though, like to see you do more. 👍

18kg is light? My de Rosa bike weighs 18 pounds not kilograms and that's not light by today's road racing standards. Riding a cycle makes you fit. If you're going to put a motor on it what's the point?
Motors do have a point: my knees suffer sometimes and if I don't take glucosamine, they pack in! So I've just fitted a Swytch kit to my Dawes discovery (£500) and I now have the confidence to ride again. The motor helps whilst I warm up or go up hills. I use it on level 1 (like eco) when out for leisure or 3 when I want to ride for a purpose like an appointment.
Would have one in a minute BUT in my area these electric bikes are stolen at an alarming rate along with motorcycles. Visitors beware keep your motorcycle away from the Edinburgh area.
Well after the Labour government announced they have to lower the country's debt currently around 20 billion , the announcement of adding road tax to EV's , how long will it be before they tax Electric bikes ?

@@TheMacMaster That's really interesting, because I was wondering if I could get the one I've ordered into my MG4. I presume you're taking the front wheel off? How easy is it to get that off and on again? And how easy is it to lift the bike in and out of the car, given that I'm not six-feet-stupid and a little old lady to boot? Do you realise that if your fancy Porsche has vehicle to load, like all decent EVs have, you can recharge the bike from the car while you're out and about? Ah, the joy and versatility of EVs. 18kg is light? My de Rosa bike weighs 18 pounds not kilograms and that's not light by today's road racing standards. Riding a cycle makes you fit. If you're going to put a motor on it what's the point?
18kg would be heavy for an 80`s full suss!
What is the point? To get from a to b of course you silly fart!!
I too have suffered from poor knees. Both knees have meniscus tears. It was cycling that helped by strengthening the quads.
Don't charge it in the house it might void your insurance
It's fine not that type of battery.
Would have one in a minute BUT in my area these electric bikes are stolen at an alarming rate along with motorcycles. Visitors beware keep your motorcycle away from the Edinburgh area.
Hey hun that bike looks fantastic and easy to ride . xx❤
Do you have Health-Insurance ?
are you sure they're hydraulic brakes? are they not cable?
Yes 100%
review a Raleigh Grifter! lolol
Well after the Labour government announced they have to lower the country's debt currently around 20 billion , the announcement of adding road tax to EV's , how long will it be before they tax Electric bikes ?
Fido emailed and said do you want to test an electric bike. I emailed back and said that's not an electric bike. They emailed back and said it is. I emailed back and said it doesn't look like an electric bike. They emailed back and said it is. I emailed back and said really? They emailed back and said yeah. So I emailed back and said no way. They emailed back and said lol. I emailed back and said 😂. They emailed back and said so... I emailed back and and so what? They emailed back and said do you want to? Etc etc
Fido is a famous name for pet dogs. I laugh at this.
A bike is supposed to be affordable you spend on the bike and repairs no fuel cost but e bike pay to charge
“A bike is supposed to be affordable” who made that rule up? The imagination police?
@@alexpiptom which capitalist made the rule it’s supposed to be expensive

Will it pack into a Taycan?😊
It does. 👍🏼
What I really want to know is whether I can ride the thing across the Corrie Yairack pass. I suppose the only way to find out is to try. If the battery dies at the top I can always freewheel back down.
