I know exactly you're talking about. When it says error uploading to server or something like that thats an issue or 2k's end. The main servers are either down or overloaded.
But that's the error that you need to pay attention to the instructions and do it again. I've had that atleast 50 times. I've heard of people that that error means to turn your head slower. But that's even more difficult because it takes more time and I can't get my phone straight.

GENTO!!! It also depends on your face structure too! my face has had Great quality multiple times and it still sets my eyes under my 2k eyes and it puts my mouth on my chin cause my face structure

Try it with different lighting. You'll also want to only include your face in the scan (not your hair or anything around you). A common mistake is to hold your phone quite a long distance away from your face, screwing up the scan. I got you bro :)
Honestly its a pretty basic design, its not even that advanced. It involves just taking pictures of different angles of your face... It really isn't that revolutionary.
Turning your head super slow is the best advice. My scan failed like 40+ times then started when I did it real slow I got it in about 3 attempts. Came out pretty good.

Forreal the bathroom really do got the best lighting lmao but I tried over 100 times and got 2 great qualities in total smh. 2K gotta make it better. One thing that worked for me is not filling the oval with your face completely but giving it enough space where if you were to turn all the way to the left or right your face is still in the oval. Same here. Tilt your chin up w but more. The lips on the chin thing with beards seems to come from not tilting your chin up more than normal. I got it to work that way

I dont care what this dude says. some people will just struggle extremely to get this to work. I have tried to scan my face probably 50 times. Spent hours using different lighting. different days. My damn eyes are seeing spots cause I just got done baking my dome, facing the solar systemic powerful rays of our blessed sun and this dman thing is still giving me issues. I think the type of phone you have and or camera matters, maybe it works better on IOS than android, but whatever the case some people will just be absolutely screwed when it comes to using this feature,.
I tried several times over a 7-10 day period. Still though, I do have plenty of free time on top of that. I could have spent even more time trying but After 50 freaking tries I give up, its completely futile with my phone at least. I have only managed to get to the point where I can even see a messed up scan a handful of times. Most the time I get some kind of error message. Like I said, some people are just not going to be able to use this feature for whatever reason, it doesn't work for everybody or at the very least it will take a ridiculous amount of effort for some people to get a scan and its just not worth the time and frustration. They need to either fix the technology or find a different method.
I agree with people it doesn't work consistency well. However Gento is right that you need to use front camera, Natural light with your face facing the natural light source (maybe natural light from an outside window but stay inside, standing by a back door window for example) turn your head very very slowly and keep your hand steady as possible and make sure you have your head close to mid range away from the camera so your head is taking up most of the shape they give you and keep your face still and motionless as possible.
For that scan error follow instructions..blablabla.. heres what I did --- Faced the window for natural light and 'tilted my head up a little' - that part helped the most. goodluck.

My Nexus 6P front cam is better by 4 megapixels than my iPad and I got a great scan in minutes with the iPad. I could only get average after hours of attempts with Android. it's not your phone it's the app. it only likes iOS processing.
I did my scan today and got an Above Average scan have my LG, looks pretty good. You need as much light as possible. I stood facing an open window and held my phone at eye level and the circle was completely filled up with my face. You need to fill the circle all the way up (don't need to show hair) if you don't have an iPhone

This is somewhat right the eye thing though can be completely fixed if you DONT look at the camera the whole time. Try move your eyes with your head 2k says so in their tutorial and when I did it it fixed my eye problem. I've done like 30 face scans and as soon as I moved my eyes with my head I got a perfect face scan "looks so much like me it is scary" lol

This is a great tutorial but I struggle with the face scan app due to my cerebral palsy. I hope 2k makes the face scan app easier next year to where you take a pic and upload it instead of moving you're face back and forth.

Another advice is to put your screen brightness full whack when using front facing camera to have more light on your face. Sure did help for me

Rear camera works pretty good I got a perfect scan my first try! Only flaw was on the side of my face the skin tone was off because of the lighting
