Going to install some polished stainless oval Delkevic cans on my '97 Trident tomorrow and really appreciate the thorough how-to videos. They were very helpful. And thanks for making cool exhausts for a 27 year-old British bike!
Ha! Yep, there were plenty of bloopers and entirely my fault too, my co-presenter was a paragon of professionalism. Thanks for getting in touch and letting us know what you think, always glad to get feedback. Glad you like the video, even happier you like our products, spead the word and don't be a stranger! :)
Thanks for the great feedback, glad you like it and if you like the baffle in that's no problem, we test the exhausts extensively with and without the baffles fitted, both ways are fine.
Having found no information relating to torque settings, either in the generic guide on delkevic uk website, nor on the specific Suzuki dl650 mkI guide, I torqued up the clamps with an educated guess to 9Nm on both my DL and more recently on my new RE Hunter 350. Only by chance did I just come across this extremely helpful tutorial (but mentioned nowhere in the delived packages) and now find out that 8Nm is the correct torque for the clamps. Well, nothing snapped, so I'll leave both installations as they are. I assume they should be ok. PS, the 350mm oval sounds great on the V-strom and the more open 225mm oval sounds absolutely fantastic and befitting of the plodding long-stroke Hunter single ...and without even being overly loud (both with baffles in for a more refined and warmer sound).
Great news you won't be disappointed and we always advise our customers that if they are not confident in fitting the exhausts it's always better to seek professional assistance.
I just mounted a carbon 450 oval on a k1300gt, it just sound deeper than the original, and a bit louder ( i left the DBin for now). Perfect ! A little detail, i wasn't sure what the exhaust sealant was for, so i didn't applied it yet, is it bad? shall i unmount it because it would leak or not, i can give it a try and see how it goes ? Thanks again the finish is great and it is already a huge gain in weight, can't weight to give it a try ! Nice video too - cheerful and clear, reassuring before to do the mounting
Thanks, glad you like the video :) Leave the exhaust on now you have fitted it and see how it goes, when we test fit and try the different exhausts we don't use the sealant, if the pipes are fitted correctly they generally don't leak.
@@DelkevicExhausts thank you for you prompt answer. i have been quite careful about it. I did have a chance to drive it more, it's very nice, just deep nice sound, not too loud/tiring too , Perfect, it really adds up some pleasure to the experience, thanks !
I just installed a brand new delkevic tri oval for my 2014 fz1. The strap bracket for the exhaust does not fit flush and it caused a lot of scratches on my new exhaust. Someone on the forum mentioned the strap should have a black rubber piece but mine doesn’t have one.
I'm sorry to hear about this, there definitely shoudl have been a black rubber strap with your exhaust hanger strap, I can only imagine it was an error on the part of the person packing the exhaust, fopr which we apologise. Please call your local office to discuss this further.
Help! I got the Delkevic mini 8" w/ headers for 2015 Ninja 650. I installed it and it ran great for several months. Now, the link pipe pops off at the connection to the headers if I throttle a bit hard. I've tried everything (especially tightening everything again) and have to manually press it back on as it loosens off. Is it a bad idea to put a small tack weld on the backside to keep it in place?
That doesn't sound riight, all our exhausts connect and are held together with either clamps or hook & springs. You haven't mentioned a clamp, does it have the clamp on it? If there is a clamp, is there a gasket that should be on there that isn't on there? Some kits have them, some don't. I have fitted plenty of exhausts to various configurations of the Kawasaki 650 family and never had the issue you're describing. Please call your local office to discuss with someone in person.
Generally you put the carbon gasket inside the larger tube first, then put the smaller tube inside that. As you tighten it, the gasket will crush slightly and create the seal.
Just bought a Delkevic exhaust for my 1992 CBR600F. There are absolutely no instructions included with the exhaust which I found very disappointing. Finding this video has helped but the complete lack of any form of instructions is pretty poor really.
Further to this comment. I have now fitted the exhaust after watching the video and thankfully all went well. The tip about where the sealant should be put was really useful as I would have put it in the wrong place otherwise. The exhaust looks great and sounds fabulous.
Hello Delkevic Team . I intend to replace the OEM exhaust for my Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT 2020 model. Did you have an homologated exhaust for my motorcycle? I understand that the V-Strom 650 XT 2017+ with Euro 4 , has the catalyst inside the exhaust and a slip on exhaust does not pass . Being from Romania , an EU country, any exhaust modification must be legal homologated and CE certified . Thank you
Hi, we don't offer a CE homologated slip-on with a cat inside, most of our customers want exactly the opposite and to get rid of their cat and that's why we develop the products we currentl offer.
@@DelkevicExhausts thank you , understand that . Unfortunately it's illegal here in Romania without a cat and you'll have for sure problems with Police and other authorities like TUV or so...
Mine came with no fitting instructions. E-mailed Delkevic asking if they could be sent Email and didn’t even get the courtesy of an acknowledgment. Very poor customer service.
I'm sorry to here this, which locale did you buy your exhausts in? UK or USA or Australia? I knwo all the guys and they usually very quick to respond and very helpful, I can only assume your mail was somehow missed. Which bike was for?
No, you don't NEED to do anything else, all testing is done on stock OE bikes, BUT of course you will benefit from any tuning as any bike would because everything will be optimised.
I just spent 300 dollars on a Delkevic exhaust for my Suzuki Gladius . All it does is leak ! I’ve tried everything. The Delkevic does not fit over the Orem carbon gasket. The red silicone just gets everywhere. Not happy with this purchase at all
Hi, I'm sorry to hear you're having problems fitting your exhaust. This particular one, has been produced as essentially the same exhaust for a couple of decades for the various iterations of the SV650, it has many years of development and refinement of the product behind and I'm VERY surprised to hear there is a problem with the fitment of one, we just don't get issues with this one and in general, almost all of the issues are down to incorrect fitment or technique whihc is why we decided to produce these videos, to help out with that. Can you call the US number listed on the website and in various videos? Someone from the US office will be willing and available to help you out in anyway they can. Thanks for shouting out for help, better to do that than suffer in silence or try and battle through it on your own.
Very pleased to see this video as the Delkevic exhaust I bought for my Yamaha Diversion came with no fittting instructions. Tried email but got no response.
We sell all over the world and in the US, many people are confused by the term silencer and prefer muffler/exhaust. Thank you for confirming that pedantry is thriving out there on RUclips, keeping us all honest.... ;)

Just found you guys channel and I love it. Just bought a 2020 1050 xt and I'm replacing the stock exhaust with a delkevic. I can't wait🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Great idea, the 1050XT responds well, I particularly liked developing the system on that bike, it's a great engine!
i bet the bloopers were hilarious, i couldn't stop smiling and chuckling brilliant great product by the way :)

The Delkevic Titanium is fantastic on my K1300R. I left the baffle in for now.

Very helpful vídeo to install my new 8” mini on my Triumph Trophy SE ! Cheers 🍻

What you have here are silencers, not an exhaust. As representatives of Delkevic you really ought to be able to understand the difference.
As far as I can see, it's worded for the US market: I read it as a muffler kit for the exhaust system. And I'm not even American 😁
We sell all over the world and in the US, many people are confused by the term silencer and prefer muffler/exhaust. Thank you for confirming that pedantry is thriving out there on RUclips, keeping us all honest.... ;)
Thanks for your comment @alexugurie, you are correct, we sell an awful lot of exhausts/mufflers/silencers in the US.
