    So many custom cards have the idea of giving you little hints of what cards the opponent has in their hand.

      IMO the problem is that the meta has generally favored solitaire-style decks that win quickly without caring much about what your opponent has.
      Having knowledge of what your opponent has in hand is realistically only good in slow metas of control and combo decks (with ample disruption tech).
      And seeing how little cards like Chameleos, Mind Vision, and Madame Lazul were played is telling of how incompatible the metas have been with this kind of mechanic.

    Yogg should never be stooped to the level of always helping you. It is you who must hope Yoggs whims align with your own. If it was changing to only destroying friendly minions it would be far more flavorful, but I doubt it would see any play then.

    • @GeekProdigyGuy
      @GeekProdigyGuy 2 года назад +10

      I think it'd work with friendly minions if you replaced it with "cast random spells equal in number to the minion's cost" i.e. a 10 cost minion would cause 10 random spells to be cast; therefore this Yogg could potentially cast up to 60 random spells but it would usually be in the 1-10 range.

    • @solaariel2692

      Perhaps Yog could be something along the lines of "cast a random spell at each minion equal to its cost". This also has the added benefit of rewarding players who know the game, as they can predict how likely a targeted spell is likely to be removal or a buff at each mana cost.

If you're talking strictly about ladder than I agree with all of the critque, but the idea of having that card in the game and being able to have insane super combo decks against friends (since you can both agree to play the card) is really fun.

    Regarding Cho'gall, my firat idea was "Start of game: destroy all cards from other class in your deck", but then I realise, that it will help to build more consistent deck. So I came up with another idea: "Start of game: if this is not un your opponent deck, DESTROY HALF OF YOUR DECK!". That will ruin most of the combos, and drystickly reduce you chances to win. But tou will still have some chances, because some of the combos might survive the purge.

    This might be an upside to combo decks but what if Cho'gall destroyed the cards from the other class as its start of game effect? Then you of course have combo decks who are happy to either thin their deck out to just the cards they need or they get to add in mage draw cards or guff. Also thief rogue would be insane with Cho'gall. Just only run the thief payoff cards and cards from another class.

    I do see some potential for the rookie detective. Maybe change the name to crooked detective or sly info broker. The potential I can see is if rogue gets a ton of ways to add secrets to their hand, then this does become a mind games card where you can either bluff with the unknown card or bait the fact that you have an unknown card while playing a useful secret considering your opponent knows you have more than those two secrets in hand. Alternatively, “add 2 secrets to your hand, one that even you dont know what it is!” Would also likely be a good step forward.

    I disagree with the assessment the the Toki card is overpowered. It is only going to hit 1 card realistically, and even then not all the time. Your opponent had to have cheated the card out recently, and within the first 10 turns. Alot of mana cheat is more about the volume of cards in a turn rather than one high cost card. Alignment point was good, but its a very narrow counter card in that case. And usually alignment is a combo deck, your counter is coming down after the combo is already off most of the time.
