**update 23 Oct 20** Top eye's ceramic ring, which is not oval, has fractured. Oval ceramic rings fine so far. I have ordered replacement top eye rings from ebay (shipped from China)...quality of eyes down to 3 stars.
Tom used a replacement ceramic insert taken off a 8mm x 3mm Fuji replacement top eye to insert into the existing top eye, that's missing the ceramic, in order to fix. So replacement ceramics should be 8mm for this rod. He hasn't measured the diameter of the tip of the blank.
***update 29 Dec2020***There has been no other broken ceramic eye issues on this rod.
The oval guides are supposed to best match the shape of the line profile as it passes through when casting with a fixed spool reel as the line comes off in coils which are pulling apart by the force of the cast.
Great video 😊 thanks a lot of precious information 😊 make me make my mind 😉 got the same rod...... thanks again .
People go for brand names of rod but decathlon caperlan has brilliant stuff I was very surprised with the results.
Yes this symbios range of rods is very well made and is much better than rods of the same price.
Is it good for river fishing?
This rod is too long to fish on a river. It is also too stiff. Something like a 12ft float fishing rod would be better.
Lovely couple fishing ❤❤❤❤
When a 400-gram fish is hooked on that rod, is it visible on the rod as it pulls or is it invisible?
It will definitely register as a bite. A will pick up a bite from a 20 cm whiting which is about 50g.
Just searched for 16ft beach rods and this popped up. I fish surf Beaches in Ireland, in moderate conditions 60 yards would be the furthest cast. But when it's pushing in a swell of 12 ft plus or even double you need to hit far as the fish don't come in as close. 4 foot walls of foaming surf hitting the bank at high tide.
Hope you don't mind me asking what would you recommend me at a budget price. I have been lure fishing for year's. I've good old 13 ft century tip tornadoes and conoflex rods. But I'd like to try an affordable fixed spool rod.
This 16 ft rod is of very high quality build and under £100. 16 ft rod can allow for much further casting if you have the technique...it can be tiring on the arms reeling in though.
nice fişh bro 🐟
