oh yeah, i've definitely used this when i was younger. but the packaging was different back then so i guess they revamped the packaging to look more modern. i think i remember it being very comparable to reeves so the fact that you've scored reeves lower makes me feel like renaissance or the chinese manufacturer definitely improved their formula over the years. great review as always Allan!
Thanks Vee. 😍 it could also be that the Reeves set I reviewed was kind off an old set. Bought more than a decade ago, and so the binder separation was terrible. This makes me think of re-reviewing Reeves. 😊 and thanks for sharing about your Renaissance experience. I thought it was a new brand. 😊
Hello!! Another wonderful video from you! I always love how you can paint wonderful sceneries even with cheap watercolors, proving that skills are the most important of them all! And also paper qualities Lol
Allan, another great video. Your reviews are informing and comprehensive. If I may request, would it be possible for you to post a video showing how you paint your gorgeous landscapes? Maybe a step by step video?
Hi Mark. Thank you for appreciating my work. 🙏 for the landscape videos, i have made some tutorials and put them in a playlist. These are in a bigger paper, though, but still loose style painting. Hope you could check it out. 👉 ruclips.net/p/PL5Jo61Gq_J89Yca9ajT2uZqUCHgpRDp_a
I purchased these colors about five days ago, and the reason is because i watched a review about renesans watercolors.. And since they did not show the package but only the tubes and i only heard the name i assumed they were referring to this cuz it's quite popular where i live but unfortunately i was mistaken... And i only found out now while watching your video, uhh.... Well maybe that's a good thing im fairly new to watercolors ive only used watercolor pencils cuz they give more control, and nice details but also blend well with little water. And when i first used these i found them really hard to control and blend, so maybe i should practice with these first before getting expansive ones. Maybe not so bad after all! Great vid btw, thank u for letting me know :)
Hi Katy. I'm sorry to hear you didn't get what you were expecting. 🙏 but i think you're right that this set is not a bad set at all for beginners. These aren't bad saturation wise. Watercolor being free flowing water-based medium is really the hardest to control among all mediums, in my opinion.. and that challenge is one of the mysteries of why artists fall in love in this medium.
Hello kuya Allan, can you do a review on semi art artist grade watercolor. They claimed it's a Artist grade but I've never try it myself. I'll be great to hear your thoughts as a watercolor enthusiasts. Salamattt po
I live in an urban area, 15kms from Manila. Nothing special hahaha. I guess I'm just "fortunate" we have neighbors who raise roosters and that they have a Java plum tree that birds love to stay in. 😊
Did you mix the paint with water? Because i like my paint to be thick. Here in ko pagnang i can only buy this Renaissance paint. No oil. I dont know....
Yes, indo mix them with water to actually make them translucent..more of the traditionally waynof painting with watercolors. Nothing wrong with using them thickly, but maybe for that style, gouache paints would serve you better.
Yes, nareview ko na un. Ung full range pa nga that time. Kaso, heavily damaged na ung swatch na un dahil kinain ng langgam. 😔 eh wala na sakin ung fulk range ng tubes ng PWC kasi nabenta ko na.lol pero irereview ko soon ung Shinhan PWC at SWC. Comparison nila. Pati Shinhan Pro and Shami which is ung student grade nila.
Thank you for the review I really appreciate making reviews on unknown or cheep brands. Also I love your paintings 😍
Thank you so much. 💓 🙏

Sir allan... Again why don't you include shinhan pwc watercolor in your comparison...?? Na review mo na Yun dba..?

Ahahaha... Sabi na...... Basta chinese made paints halos pare-pareho ng quality.... Hehe
Yes. Hehe. Nag step up lang sina Paul Rubens/Owin Company tlaga.
Parang berkeley cguro yan? 🤔
Yes. Di kapareho, pero Kalevel lang niya.
