It’s great to finally see some investments in the Pier…. I really hope Mellers Group are true to there word and extend the pier out to sea, just think how big this market come become at Christmas. Great for Skegness.
I think it will. The pier is finally owned by a group that wants to invest in it. Mellers group operate Nottingham winter wonderland and they is a great success year on year so I have no doubt that this is a working progress and it will be bigger and better each year. Once the pier is rebuilt to the old length this market could be amazing… Mellers group need to buy Bottoms Pleasure beach now. There is so much potential with that site but the current owners don’t have the vision, imagination or funds to develop it.
Personally, I think they've ruined the pier. The 2p machines have everything miles from the edges & it's all generic tat. They don't have fruit machines anymore, the games are all overpriced. The pinball machines are £1 a ball for example which is insane. It's a shame because even the kids aren't interested in the place.
