Not too bad. I had good results when I sprinkled a tablespoon of sulphur and the same amount of chicken manure over the seed potatoes in the container before covering them with soil. Love watching you playing in the ground! Mavis Re
The reason the potatoes are so small are likely due to being over watered and/or just too wet to often. Potatoes should only be watered in a container like that a few times a week once the foliage is up. Also you can boost your harvest by adding agricultural lime to the soil when you plant. Good luck on your next batch!
Hi Scott! I think it's a decent harvest overall. Maybe the potatoes are small, but they look very healthy. I'm growing potatoes for the second time this year and hope to do well. Thanks for sharing your experience!
I don't know if it depends on where you get your potatoes from!! But its getting harder and harder to grow potatoes these days I reckon!! I reckon its to do with the pandemic!!
Did you allow the plants to die completely back ? Those last 2-3 week are important for the growth of the taters. It’s best to allow them to die completely for optimal growth.
Yes, some were completely dead, and some were 90% or so dead. I really believe part of the issue with some of these containers was that they were packed in too close to one another, we’re of various sizes, and some (smaller ones in particular) had their vegetation smothered by plants from larger containers after a couple of early storms beat them down.

I had to put a fencing around my container plants, just to keep the critters from digging them up! Never thought it would be good for the wind!
That a good harvest. I would love to get such a harvest
Great tip didn't know about washing potato's after harvest. Thank you Scott
