I saw Rachel Z together with Vertu (Stanley Clarke, Lenny White, Richie Kotzen & Karen Briggs) and became an instant fan. Daryl Jones will always be one of my favorite bass players, he was great with Miles Davis & Steps Ahead plus also managed to take the Rolling Stones to another level. Omar Hakim is a true beast on drums, but I rather hear him play a real snaredrum like back in the day with Weather Report or Miles Davis. He remains impeccable though and easily top 3 from his era (early 80's) together with Vinnie Colaiuta and Steve Smith.
I think you'll find he has enormous fun playing with the Stones too!! 😄 (Bill's demeanour was once memorably described as being 'like a friendly undertaker' !! 😂)
