Also, occasionally flip your sketch or painting. It helps you see your art with 'new eyes'. It helps you see flaws that you might have previously missed.
Awesome class everyone! I have drawing for a long time but felt like I never learned the core things that are so important to have a great painting. I am currently in the course that David is referring to and I am learning so much. I have no doubt that my paintings will be so much better, on every level. Just an FYI 🥳👍
I implemented these tips, mostly at the end- don't draw shapes draw things, and my sketching improved instantly. If you're drawing traditionally from an image on a computer you can hold your paper up to the screen and even if it's too small you can check your proportions.
thanks a lot for your tips and your videos (they really help me continue drawing even during a busy uni schedule ;;)! do you have any tips for someone who is struggling with the opposite of your last "before starting" tip? my sketches usually look like a mess, which is either difficult to decipher in the next sketching phase or just frustrating to finish :((
Hey Chelsea, in Procreate you can either open an image inside procreate as a reference photo (Actions menu .> Canvas> Reference). Or you can split your screen. Have Procreate cover the majority of it and put the image (in Photos app) on the other side.
Why do prices always have to be in dollars for most art courses except udemy ill get charged a fortune by my bank for conversation shame but never mind guess thats how it is ill just keep looking around 😢

Hi sir, tank you for brush your sharing in Facebook, I love it 😘
You are amazing
Currently, I only have Clip Studio Paint. Do all your courses apply to that software?
Can we do this in Procreate? Picture next to your new canvas?
