Revealing the full extent of the damage to the stone walls - Finca restoration in Spain

We're still working on the old 'chicken shed'. The stone walls are in a terrible state, probably the worst we have seen anywhere else in the building. They have broken down terribly, mainly due to a previous use of gypsum based mortar. However, we are going to repair them using a traditional lime construction.

Could you put some rocks to use up on the wall from the outside? So you don’t have to haul them up the ladder. The base of that wall looked so unstable! But after you fixed it, looked great.

Tilley is getting bigger every day! Can't you use your other bbq grill rather than the smoker? You're one of the few people I see 'pinning' stone's in as you restore walls, but that seems the right way to go about it to me. I saw on another YT channel put a bar into the hole where the ladder rungs meet the rails and hang a bucket from it; Seems a useful idea if you're ladder has holes in the rail's.

I love seeing the progress you are making with these crumbling walls, and once you point them wow what a transformation it makes. These things cant be rushed and what a difference you are making to your house and for the better keep up the good work Andy and as for the bbq i agree about oiling it as to painting it its referred to as seasoning cast iron if this helps you x
