I’m over 55 hours, and not even thinking bout finishing the game yet. If I do, I wouldn’t probably go to NG+. So I better enjoy it, then finish the story.
It’s been a while that I stopped playing games rushing its story. Perhaps getting older allowed me more patience while playing a game. Who knows? Also, with games getting more expensive I need to make that money worth it.
FYI: Press square to put a whole stack and even multiple things at once from your inventory to your bank. I see to many people manually choosing the number of their mats to put away.
put all your heavy mats on a hired pawn, dismiss/brine them and hire a new one, their stuff goes to your storage automatically. Do this next to a rift stone for maximum efficiency
People are free to treat pawns as they like of course, but other than those inflicted with Dragon plague I always dismiss a pawn and give a valuable or at least useful gift and usually a thumbs up, because I want mine to be treated well so I do the same to others.
I just found out about this today, if you press the attack button with an archer character while running your Character will do a slide attack which does increased damage compared to when you're standing still and it's a really good way to enter combat with some of the weaker enemies

Love the "how to make this game fun" videos. For the record I kinda like the game but its bad design if the player is forced to go through a checklist of stuff to make the game fun to play. If your world is fun, you don't need to worry about people fast traveling too much. My god. Game design has come a long way since dd1 and that is a GOOD thing.
When using an oxcart if you bring a material from a cyclops in your inventory, it seems to significantly lower your chances of being attacked on the journey.
One thing I do to minimize the travel annoyance is pre-plan my questing. For example if I have multiple quests that bring me from check point rest town down to Battahl I will hit all of them in one trip down then if I need to go back to checkpoint I can just ox cart. Kind of obvious but not having to run to the same area multiple times is nice

If you can’t find an NPC where the quest marker says they should be, check the morgue, talk with the attendant and for 5000g they’ll show you what NPCs have died and can be revived for the cost of a wakestone
I keep 2 camping supplies 1 on 2 different pawns, no more than 2 oil, but I keep about 20 Mighty Rodants because it takes 3-4 to get back to full health, 20 Fine Harspud Rodants for stam only, and as many Miracle Roborants as i can make (usually around 10) and 10+ ferrystones with at least 1 Portcrystal because walking long distances and getting lost or encumbered sucks, so I drop a portstone teleport to sell, then Immediately port back to where I was.
On missing NPC's: If resting, and save/load doesn't bring them to where they should be, check the morgue/chattel house of the nearest main hub city, and see if you can find their body. You don't need to pay for this, just walk through and check each casket until you find them, then use a wakestone to resurrect them. Always keep a wakestone or two in storage for this purpose, because oftentimes, monsters will follow you into town and murder a bunch of folks if you try to just run past them.
Something that makes you really fast for all my "big boinkers" aka *Warriors:* The skill Goring Lunge (lvl 2)/Ravening Lunge (lvl 5) makes you run _really_ fast! I believe it's the fastest you can run in the game. In its advanced form (again, hitting Warrior vocation rank 5) it costs even less stamina. Lunge away, my boinking friends! PS: Watch your pawns trying to keep up with your insane speed on the minimap - it's hilarious!
...I carry 4 camps with me at any time, because I thought they were single use items. I've walked through the night and kept dying cause I didn't want to use an expensive resource.
Damn bro. Elite is the best. I just put one on the hired pawns and that'll last you awhile. I don't think I've had one break. Especially if you clear the general area you won't have an issue with raiding.
As long as you aren't spam resting and being sure to clear the general area before camping you'll be fine a majority of the time. Sometimes shit happens but you should always have the elite camp on your main pawn. I also thought they were one time use until realizing otherwise lol
Pro tip: for players still going through their first playthrough, I suggest farming drakes for wyrm crystals as a thief vocation. You'll be glad you did. 😂
@@SM-McKraken Also the sky is blue and grass is green, lol. I'm talking about stamina *Recovery*, the aged meat is the Only one that does this unless the Recovery ++++ is for healing.
Man they really made it hard to go solo in DD2. You could easily do it in DD1, but it seems like everything is made to force you to use pawns. Camping gear being that heavy should be a crime😂
I’ve found the most broken stamina management hack is being a Warrior with the Ravening Lunge skill. I just spam that and run willy nilly super duper fast.
Sara, Brokkr's apprentice seems bugged sometimes...after you talk to her she follows you around 😂 you can't upgrade/buy anything from her...I need to sleep outside the city to respawn her back the smithy
Here my tip: Replace your main vocation with warfarer, equip the same skills and augments as your main vocation, DONT equip rearmament skill, you can switch weapons anytime from your item menu without rearmament, the cons is the weapons weight. You could bring the lightest staff with you so you can use levitate for exploration and heal yourself anytime without being a mage/sorc.
I created a very small character so I’ve been way in too of inventory from the start. It’s gets annoying some but also combining ingredients lowers your carry weight.
I thought these were more game breaking things to do than tips for efficiency. XD Totally expecting something like "raise affinity of the entire Vernworth so there's always a massive brawl outside your home" type suggestions. LOOOL OH seriously though, do it. Get the affinity of a bagillion people in towns up and it's chaos at it's finest! >:)
Love this game and I can’t wait to see what they add and put into it in the future. It does need the auto save fix and stopping the can’t create a save game problem. But I am having so much fun and am immersed in this game and I haven’t felt that feeling of adventure and awe in a WHILE❤❤❤🎉😊
Many great tips for people. Im a look forward to the wayfayer one once i decide to lvl it up. Im enjoying this game a lot and i hope they do dlc for it.
Also I have my (large) main pawn carry the camping kit and I also have another pawn carry a 2nd camping kit cause one time my main pawn died and had the only camping kit so I couldn’t camp and was down my healer.
As much as I'd love to agree, because I'm enjoying the game a lot, it shouldn't be that type of mentality. Games can launch perfectly and being patched/updated with new content feels like paying full price for half a steak....the rest will come in the mail
Bring two camping kits. It's a pain in the but when you get raided in the middle of the night and now you're stranded in the darkness with no backup. Carry two of the lightest you can find and always use the heavier of the two first.
Keep one on your Arisen, and one on your main pawn. Avoid keeping your only camping kits on your main pawn only, if said pawn gets brined back into the rift (no body to ressurect) and you're far from the nearest rift stone or Inn, you can find yourself fighting thru the darkness (and it's tougher denizens) to get to a rift stone to summon the main pawn back and then get to a camp fire.
I would love to know the difference between very light, light, and medium weight loads. How much does it effect stamina drain and move speed? I can tell a huge difference between medium and heavy but can hardly notice a change between light and medium so would be cool to see a comparison.
Has anyone tried to walk around with a cyclops eye in their inventory while traveling by ox cart to check if the monster encounters rate drops? Also I noticed that when using the skill to avoid attacks when traveling, the in town monster spawns increases.
I think I’ve chucked about 20-25 pawns into the ocean. Honestly I feel that’s the most annoying part of this game is when they don’t shut up and keep bothering you about crap you already know. 🙄
The game's great, just too many people out there that can't play a game without their hand being held. This is to open people's eyes to how things work so they can enjoy it more, makes sense to me
@@DissidentDissonance I can definitely agree it came out earlier than it should of in terms of optimisation. However from software games, while somewhat complex they are still fairly linear. Besides, my comment was referring to a certain cohort of people which you clearly don't fit into so don't take that personally
one thing I will never understand is strict inventory capacity in open world games… what is the gameplay reasoning behind it? force players to go back to city more often? why?
the downside with this is you have to kill your main pawn... which lowers affinity with your pawn making them much more susceptible to dragonplague (higher pawn affinity reduces their chance of getting dragonplague so your rewarded for treating your pawn better)
Why not try to solo with all the classes? All hack and slash can get kinda boring after a while. Not to mention, succeeding solo while playing a squishier class, just means the player's that much more L337. 🤔😉
@@arcanumelite4853 well yes and no. For me there is no downside because my pawn was only 2 times in the game, Nr. 1 at the beginning and Nr. 2 for a few sec. In the true ending xD
Is there like a ring that can grant us levitate? I've to skip some tokens because i'm on a class that has no traversing skills and it's quite annoying to backtrack, especially with just 5 map markers.
Depending on the walls/platforms/mountains you need to scale, just bring a Fighter/Warrior that has the Shield/Sword Catapult ability so they can launch you. Obviously anything that's too far however, you'll need a mage or be the mage yourself.
@@MarluxiaX2 I've yet managed to figure out how to make my pawns do those things on command.. They want to launch me constantly against goblins, meanwhile they stand there and tank 3 of them instead of attacking >.
It really sucks that weight decreases with upgrades, I avoid upgrading my gear to keep the game challenging, but I am a warfarer with heavy armor and could really use the weight loss. q.q
I didn’t know/am not sure if camping kits ever go away? I’ve had the same one my entire game and into new game + so idk there man. I think they’re infinite use.
I was trying to forge replicas of those Beetles but I get the same trash as with ferrystones and wakestones, but one of my pawns said something like, they are worthless for us, but maybe not for someone else, so that sounds to me like, if I gift the replica to the pawn of another player, it will be a normal item to them maybe? Can someone confirm something like that? Otherwise I can't think of a reason, why my pawn would say something like that. It vendors for almost nothing.
what does it change to upgrade stuffs in one town, and the rest in an other // i mean there is a few icons on it // does it actually change something ?
I think the difficulties managing stamina and cary weight are extremely exaggerated, it’s really not that hard and get easier and easier with every single level up
Anyone go to play and open from last save, only to have the game brought you back to a previous save? I lost about 17 hrs of progress with no fix available. If I continue on and it happens again. I may eject the disk and hold a lighter to it.
I like when oxcart gets interupted, especially when it is boss type, good for badge hunting, normal enemies for mats and you get some affection with everyone who was in fight too btw weight is not problem if you eat beetles regulary and if you didnt make some crazy small and thin char, even my pawn who is 166cm 61kg can now hold more than 55kg :D but she is badass archer nuke sniping bosses with her meister skill :D
They should make a system where your main pawn can enter the riftstones you find in the open world to store items and return back to you. Would've been such a qol feature.
@@bradr2567 I'm aware it takes a while (surprisingly so) but I definitely used way more than 3 oil refills (still have 50 in storage now though. Tend to find more than I need, or get the materials to craft them from rotten stuff).
@@ExileTwilight So I dont feel like I rushed, but given the time I completed my first playthrough in, people would probably assume I rushed. I didnt rush or anything, kind of just naturally found my way to the true end game. Completed my first playthrough in 41 hours.

Does anyone know where Wilhemmina goes after you finish her questline? I can't seem to find her anywhere even checked the morgue and the gaol and she's just seemed to disappear from the game completely..
The various Camping Kits have different weights and durability ratings. Aspire to acquire the lightest kit you can find with the best damage resistance to camp ambushes. It might be my imagination, but it really "seems" like the better the dmg resistance to ambushes, the less likely one is to be attacked at camp. I feel like since carrying the Elite Camping Kit, I don't get ambushed anymore. Maybe I'm just too good at clearing the area first tho? YMMV. 😉Another tip, is to upgrade every Roborant to the highest you can, by combining said Roborant with more mats, to yeild the MIghty or Exquisite Roborant, which heals a mugh greater ("great/astonishing") amount of hp and stam. They're much more efficient and weigh no more than the lesser Roborants. Last tip... everytime you manage inventory and are considering what to deposit or sell... lookover every item you have in your pack and decide if it's something you a lot, occasionally or almost never. Don't let potions, spellbooks and other items build up numbers in your pack, if you don't use them often enough to justify it's weight. Do the same with your pawns. If you find yourself encumbered frequently, you should do this more often.
Good advice except i disagree about rings… they weigh 0.01, almost nothing. I keep a bunch on me for different reasons. I gotta say, maybe cause I made a larger character or maybe cause I always use my pawns to hold stuff but I really don’t have carry weight issues. Also, I generally carry 2 camping kit, I get raided often and I give them to the pawns.

I just have 2 thief paws with the appropriate skills. They put in work.
Aged scrag meat helps with stamina recovery I think
Any non-rotten meat eaten at camp will help with stamina the next day for a while.
@@SM-McKraken Also the sky is blue and grass is green, lol. I'm talking about stamina *Recovery*, the aged meat is the Only one that does this unless the Recovery ++++ is for healing.
Nice video, cheers from Germany
Man they really made it hard to go solo in DD2. You could easily do it in DD1, but it seems like everything is made to force you to use pawns. Camping gear being that heavy should be a crime😂
I play Sorc. You do not have to worry about stamina. We have infinite recharge skill that refills a full stamina bar in literally 3 seconds.
Warfarer can get that too, with the added plus of comboing skills of other vocations so you can kill dragons (and other large enemies) in seconds.
REALLY helpful thank you
You don’t have to open the inventory to use heals and stamina potions 🧪 use up and down on the D pad when you use the RB to turn lamp on
Beast equipment enhances also increase the weight, it isnt just dwarven that increases the weight.
No one can stop me from bringing elemental weapons with me
I created a very small character so I’ve been way in too of inventory from the start.
I actually never used another camping set, in my first play through I used the one I started with and I never lost it
Also I have my (large) main pawn carry the camping kit and I also have another pawn carry a 2nd camping kit cause one time my main pawn died and had the only camping kit so I couldn’t camp and was down my healer.
This game received too much hate for how good it actually is. No game is perfect right away, give it time and updates will come.
As much as I'd love to agree, because I'm enjoying the game a lot, it shouldn't be that type of mentality. Games can launch perfectly and being patched/updated with new content feels like paying full price for half a steak....the rest will come in the mail
I’m lvl 40 and I’ve yet to do the “break point of no return” quest with the guard captain, I’ve mostly just been running around and exploring the map
I love the advice people give about this game
I never really had a problem with stamina or storage.
I would love to know the difference between very light, light, and medium weight loads. How much does it effect stamina drain and move speed? I can tell a huge difference between medium and heavy but can hardly notice a change between light and medium so would be cool to see a comparison.
U can store all materials for upgrade. You dont have yo carry it to your character when going to the armorer
Bataahl smithing also increases weight, not just dwarven.
Has anyone tried to walk around with a cyclops eye in their inventory while traveling by ox cart to check if the monster encounters rate drops?
Also I noticed that when using the skill to avoid attacks when traveling, the in town monster spawns increases.
i was attacked like twice camping in my literal 100 hours of playtime
I think I’ve chucked about 20-25 pawns into the ocean. Honestly I feel that’s the most annoying part of this game is when they don’t shut up and keep bothering you about crap you already know. 🙄
Locate and use those campfires! Always have at least one Tent on you or your pawn.
On ps controller you can select multiple items to deposit by pressing square.
Pro tip, when you go to the un moored world, all of the meats and fruits in your stash will rot. 😭
You know a game is good when you have to make not one, but TWO games on how to instruct players how to play AND have fun.
The game's great, just too many people out there that can't play a game without their hand being held. This is to open people's eyes to how things work so they can enjoy it more, makes sense to me
@@secspest the game is half baked bullshit. I don't need my hand held at all, I've played and beaten all of the fromsoft games
@@DissidentDissonance I can definitely agree it came out earlier than it should of in terms of optimisation. However from software games, while somewhat complex they are still fairly linear. Besides, my comment was referring to a certain cohort of people which you clearly don't fit into so don't take that personally
A video being made on how to make the game fun… is how I know the game just isn’t fun.
the game is very fun..just that some parts of it are intentionally less convenient... though i know your just trolling... still...
Agreed my brother
one thing I will never understand is strict inventory capacity in open world games… what is the gameplay reasoning behind it? force players to go back to city more often? why?
Great thing to do is to play without any pawns and to play as fighter without a shield (ofc just for those who like the challenge).
the downside with this is you have to kill your main pawn... which lowers affinity with your pawn making them much more susceptible to dragonplague (higher pawn affinity reduces their chance of getting dragonplague so your rewarded for treating your pawn better)
Another way to have more fun. Mods.
The game is a top tier ps3 game at best, that’s why there’s so many videos trying to tell you how to make it fun.
It really sucks that weight decreases with upgrades, I avoid upgrading my gear to keep the game challenging, but I am a warfarer with heavy armor and could really use the weight loss. q.q
I havd over 110 hours game play and i used ferrystine msybe 3 or 4 times only
I didn’t know/am not sure if camping kits ever go away? I’ve had the same one my entire game and into new game + so idk there man. I think they’re infinite use.
Is there a benefit to playing Dark Arisen before this?
I was trying to forge replicas of those Beetles but I get the same trash as with ferrystones and wakestones, but one of my pawns said something like, they are worthless for us, but maybe not for someone else, so that sounds to me like, if I gift the replica to the pawn of another player, it will be a normal item to them maybe?
Can someone confirm something like that?
Otherwise I can't think of a reason, why my pawn would say something like that. It vendors for almost nothing.
what does it change to upgrade stuffs in one town, and the rest in an other // i mean there is a few icons on it // does it actually change something ?
Different enhancement styles do different things. dragonsdogma2.wiki.fextralife.com/Enhancements
Don’t care I will keep picking up every single item I find
I think the difficulties managing stamina and cary weight are extremely exaggerated, it’s really not that hard and get easier and easier with every single level up
Anyone go to play and open from last save, only to have the game brought you back to a previous save? I lost about 17 hrs of progress with no fix available. If I continue on and it happens again. I may eject the disk and hold a lighter to it.
Happened to me also. Lost a day's worth of playtime. I always make sure to save and go to title screen before I quit playing now.
I still can't get the elf at the inn to give me the scroll to understand elvish. I gave her 100 flowers by now.
So in short: stamina and weight management
I like when oxcart gets interupted, especially when it is boss type, good for badge hunting, normal enemies for mats and you get some affection with everyone who was in fight too
btw weight is not problem if you eat beetles regulary and if you didnt make some crazy small and thin char, even my pawn who is 166cm 61kg can now hold more than 55kg :D but she is badass archer nuke sniping bosses with her meister skill :D
I have 99:56 hours so far and I'm nowhere close to being done. I'm probably 25%-40% done.
They should make a system where your main pawn can enter the riftstones you find in the open world to store items and return back to you. Would've been such a qol feature.
Wait the golden beetles increase carry weight forever??
Yes for both you and your main pawn
I went through the entire game only having to refill my lantern 3 times, so yeah it isnt like the first game running out of oil constantly.
Did you rush the ending or did you never go out at night? :s
@@ExileTwilight Neither. I didnt rush and I went out at night a lot, it just takes a very long time for your lantern oil to run out.
What GPU are you using?
Being a minimalist is a wonderful thing when all you play are RPGs. Why people hoard everything they see or start their journey with 200lbs worth of shit is beyond me.
Does anyone know where Wilhemmina goes after you finish her questline? I can't seem to find her anywhere even checked the morgue and the gaol and she's just seemed to disappear from the game completely..
She seems to re-appear in the bordelrie in the 'true endgame'. You'll know it when you see it ^^
The various Camping Kits have different weights and durability ratings.
Agree on rings, although i just finished my first play through, 120 ish hours, level 77 and I didnt have my camp raided once.
How do you get a lot of ferry stones
