    Hi Mark
    It was so nice to meet you at Dyers Bay earlier this week :)
    I'm really looking forward to catching up on your channel.
    I asked dozens of people about the state of the Georgian Bay. You are the only one that explained the Algie bloom cycles. It was exactly the information I was looking for, and couldn't get an answer anywhere.
    Thanks and best

    As a paddler and a sea-doo'r those guys were F'd had they not had your help (or someone else's). I have rescued paddlers and others and sea-doo's are very effective at moving quickly and providing aid - a boat would have taken 4x as long and may not have gotten the gear right to where it was needed. Well done Mark. A reminder that always wear your life jacket too.

    • @MarkForrestAdventures
      @MarkForrestAdventures  5 месяцев назад +2

      Right that is what I was thinking if I was not there then they would have been in big trouble as there was no one else around they would have had to call in rescue. Ah that’s great that you have stepped up and saved people as well that is what we need to do one the water be there for each other. You are right a boat would have had a very hard time as well with the movement of the water and amount of gear that was dumped. Exactly always have to have a life jacket on for sure. Thanks again cheers!

      I'm going to echo this. I'm an avid paddler as well... these guys were definitely in a pickle. It would have been quite a lot of work to recover from this. I've done many such rescues whitewater paddling, the Sea-Doo definitely makes it faster! lol I happened to save a man last year at Lake Mazinaw who was close to drowning. He was onshore to paramedics very quickly thanks to this machine. :)

    • @MarkForrestAdventures
      @MarkForrestAdventures  5 месяцев назад +3

      Ah thank you so much! yes thinking back on it they would have for sure needed to call in a rescue as there was no way they would have been able to catch all that gear before it went out into the bay. Yes being on the seadoo sure did help for sure. Oh wow that is crazy great to hear you were able to help them out. Really that is what it is all about when on the water being there to help each other out no matter what. Great to hear all that cheers!

    they must have been inexperienced flipping on the still water like that. I know it can be tricky with gear, but the conditions could not have been more favourable for canoeing.

    • @MarkForrestAdventures
      @MarkForrestAdventures  3 месяца назад +1

      Oh they were all just high school kids on a outdoor trip. But what you don't really see in this video is the rapid they came down. The inexperience was missing the portage and then going down the wrong shoot. They were going to flip no matter what. The one they wanted was to the left and then went down the wrong one! only good thing is there was this flat water area to catch them or all their stuff would have been gone and in way bigger trouble. Just goes not matter what mother nature will always win. Thanks for checking out the video and for reaching out Cheers!

    Curious as to when u were on the bad. I'm on the upper French and the water level has been at summer time low at least for two weeks. So the outflow to Georgian Bay I would think wouldn't be that bad.

    • @MarkForrestAdventures
      @MarkForrestAdventures  5 месяцев назад +3

      This was from the first week in June. So the flow was still up but the bay level was low so just made it quite fast and they were just a school group so were not really prepared I think. But even I was not confident trying them that early in the spring with no one around. But happy it all worked out. All the best cheers!

    Whew! Now that's an adventurous day!
    You've got good timing.
    And your channel is underrated.
    I'd wager you would bring in quite a few viewers if you made some shorts with gripping titles, with link to the full video.
    like "saving capsized canoes"
    Or "Emergency canoe rescue"
    "Danger for stranded Canoe group"
    "Canoe Crisis"
    Pretty sure the RUclips algorithm promotes key words like that because people always pay attention to crisis.
    Anyway, Solid rescue efforts on your part!
