  • We are in Norfolk at the lovely church of St Mary in Baconsthorpe. The tower holds 9 bells, 8 of which being tubular and the other being the clock bell which is hung with a lever.
The tubular bells were cast in 1892 by Harringtons of Coventry and are hung in a standard timber tubular bell frame. The clock bell was cast in 1701 by Charles Newman and provides hourly chimes for the clock. The tubular bells are rung by means of an Ellacombe frame situated on the ground floor of the tower.
