    I use this for helping me to stop smoking. It give me the anxiety relief I’m after without having to pick up a cigarette. I know that’s not it’s function but it’s helped a lot and having it around my neck makes it super convenient to just use whenever. And I inhale through it like you would when smoking and then i exhale like normal. Just a side note as an additional thing it can help with.

    Had mine for about a year now. It definitely helps and i’d say it’s worth the money. Just keep in mind it depends on how severe the panic attack is. For me the super super bad ones i still have trouble focusing on breathing even if i force myself to but it does help 90% of the time. It becomes a part of you i wear it everyday. With covid being a huge thing i keep it tucked in my shirt or wear something over my shirt so other people aren’t getting germs on it and i clean it regularly.

      What specifically makes it better than a straw or a small piece of bamboo? Isn’t it just a hollow tube?

    • @Dillvn
      @Dillvn 2 года назад +2

      @@sine8811 you could use that but the size won’t be the same. Not only length but diameter of the hole. Your exhale won’t be as controlled. Then of course a straw wouldn’t last very long. Also it’s super flexible if you’re as little as gripping it to tight you will flex it and ruin the air flow. Also i wouldn’t want to wear a straw around my neck and buying straws all the time just to try to cut up but thats just me.

      It doesn't "make a noise" the way a whistle does if that's what you're asking. You'll hear some air whooshing through it depending on how hard you exhale, but I'd call it pretty discreet.

    I am not sure if the design is really what we think it is. I can never exhale all the oxygen in 6 to 8 seconds. Takes me about 45 seconds to exhale. did I do it wrong? even if I blow hard which is wrong. It still takes 15seconds to blow it all out.

    • @tylerjellis
      @tylerjellis  Год назад +1

      I just took mine to time myself and test it again since it's been a little while. Here are my thoughts:
      First off, damn you've got some good lungs! I don't come anywhere near 45 seconds 😂
      But it's totally okay if your exhale is longer than expected. The main thing is that we want our exhales to be LONGER than our inhales; because this activates the parasympathetic nervous system (which slows our heart rate).
      I'd say you might be exhaling a little bit too slowly if it's taking 45 seconds, but I also wouldn't exhale so hard that you're straining yourself, because that wouldn't exactly be relaxing at all. In your case though, I wouldn't worry too much about the exact number of seconds per exhale; just make sure they are nice long exhales that still feel somewhat natural.

    • @tylerjellis
      @tylerjellis  Год назад

      It's meant to prolong exhalation which helps to activate the parasympathetic nervous system (to calm us down). You could practice breathwork like this without the Shift, but a lot of people still have trouble with it, which is where something like this could be helpful. From comments I've read and from what the Komuso team has told me themselves, a LOT of people are having success using this tool to quit smoking/vaping (even though that wasn't the original intent behind the product). I recommend checking out some of Komuso's videos on how to use the product. They actually offer a short course along with the product that goes into much greater detail than I did on how to use the device to prevent or stop anxiety.

    • @tylerjellis

      Hmm.. not sure I've seen one that focuses on the inhale. The basic concept behind most breathwork techniques (even without an assistive device) is generally to prolong exhalation to activate the parasympathetic nervous system. There are some pretty sweet higher-tech biofeedback devices out there though - it's possible one of those measures inhalation.

    Dude, if you have anxiety it’s cuz you are likely operating on a lower frequency or lower vibration. To cure anxiety, you must be in a higher vibration not a negative vibe frequency like most people. Look up ways to raise your vibration. Things that raise it was being happy, being excited, sharing love and being positive. Things that lower your vibration or frequency is being sad or depressed, being anxious, having fear etc. The media loves to keep us all in a lower vibration so we have all these problems. Entities can’t operate in our world unless we are giving off negative or bad vibes. They feed on this negative energy! Don’t create and don’t allow them to feed off it. Then anxiety will be gone. But only if you raise your vibration high enough.
    I highly recommend you start getting spiritual if you want real answers or help! It’s the only way… cuz everything is spiritual so to say you aren’t very spiritual is a bad thing my guy 🥲

      Have you considered that this tool can help "raise your vibration" by reminding you to use simple breathing techniques. I don't want to disagree with you, but I do want to point out that your comment about the importance of spirituality is quite dogmatic and offers no guidance. If spirituality helps frame your world, great. Personally, if we are eternal beings, I don't believe we were given this limited experience in reality to achieve enlightenment. Folks can choose to be secular in their mindfulness practice and achieve the same clarity and peace as they could through intentionally spiritual practices. Your view is about as ego-centric as one who is against religion. The ultimate question is: does this device help people as a tool for mindfulness and anxiety management?
      Telling someone they need to "raise their vibration" is pretty useless advice when most of these tasks regarding mental health management and self care achieve the same goal. If it makes you feel better, you can frame it as a "tool to help you raise your vibration".

    • @jjeanedoe
      @jjeanedoe Год назад +1

      Also, there are cheap options available for this. Like 12-15 bucks. It's just a tool for mindfulness.
