This "snow" can also be used as a fire retardant not very efficiently though cause it drys out but it will withstand a fair amount of heat due to the water layer in the molecular structure

I tried to add the coloring agents to the "NEX&CO instant snow" , the expansion made me surprised so much! It expanded in seconds like tiny snowy mountain eruption...
My grandfathe invented that stuff. One time he was at our house, and cut a piece of daiper, then put it in a glass of water. After it finished absorbing, he drank the gel, and I believe the two pieces of daiper that were around the powder as well. He showed how safe it was, but I do not recommend anyone eating or drinking it. Even if the powder becomes fully saturated, I still don't recommend it, because I am still not sure how exactly the body reacts to it. My grandfather, before modern sodium Polyacrylate was widespread in daipers, he made some sodium polyacrylate with radiation, which he said two hands combined and full of the stuff could absorb several thousand gallons of water. He was upset people didn't buy it because they thought radiation was dangerous. He didn't think it was dangerous.

@Muy You might have used a different form os sodium polyacrylate. In fact there are two main types of sodium polyacrylate sold commercially. The one used in diapers, mainly absorbs water but doesnt increase in size substanitally,(clear gel type) Whereas, the other type is used in instant snow, which does absorb water and increase in size substantially. So yeah. Hope that answers ur question.

I bought some, but I guess they were not crosslinked very much so they did not form snow. Can you show us how to make the polymer crosslink to get this effect
maybe different instant snow works different effect, I tried to add the coloring agents to the "NEX&CO instant snow" , the expansion made me surprised so much! It expanded in seconds like tiny snowy mountain eruption. So satisfy to watch.

i think different materials will have different water absorption strengths.such as the “NEX&CO instant snow”, is made of polymer powder, after swelling out, the particles will be distinct. But it's super fast to expand.
For any given polymer you can have chain lengths of vastly different sizes, as well as differing linking structures, which will define the bulk material properties. For any given material, too, its exact format can make a huge difference in its behavior. Diaper absorbent applications just want to hold water, so they use a fine powder, where artificial snows might use something more flaky, so it fluffs up more convincingly.

Is there a measurable difference in absorption between distilled and deionized water?

can it be dissolved in any common solvent to build a sodium polyacrylate block from powder (as it is usually sold)?
Hello,
How can we add that search thingy you added in solvent?

@@jsmith5443that’s so cool!!
Actually polysnow is very different to Sodium Poly where the SP actually turns to a gel where snow would turn to a well snow consistency
which one works best?
distilled water
demineralized water
or deionized water?
Please can someone tell me. Thank you
Distilled or deionized water
@@definitelynotyuribezmenov7611 thank you

Nice video!
So satisfy to watch. Can't wait to have a try!

So was this done w/ distilled water?
Does it make a difference tho?

Can you make a video to show how to make polymer for dipper, I mean like cotton one in dippers.
Is this stuff non-toxic?
Final Calamity No, unless you consume it.
@@monarchatto6095 I think you mean yes unless you consume it
It's non-toxic, and is sometimes used as an additive in bread, juice, and ice cream.

Does sodium polyacrylate can observe water or does it observe water and reduce the weight of water?
Can this snow eat ??

Can you show us how to make this? A lot of videos show how to acquire it from cutting open a diaper, but, that's kind of boring.
