If your diamonds get caught in a house fire it will burn and change color forever (the lighter isn't hot enough) vs is the sames situation has a Moissanite stone in it you will be able to recover that stone and it will look like nothing happened due to it being able to handle heat better. This test isnt a good representation and can be deceiving because even if something is 1% less hard, the harder object will be able to scratch the softer stone. With Moissanite getting better and better it can sit up to at 9.7 moh on the hardness scale. People are waking up to the scam of diamonds. The diamond district has about 5 years max before they start seeing a significant drop in sales.
