ShartimusPrime Biography:
Inspired by watching boring Transformers action figure reviews, the ShartimusPrime youtube channel was launched in 2008. Engaging the audience with an edgy sense of humor for adult collectors, action figure collecting has never been this fun, and videos are posted daily! Unexpectedly, the channel became more popular for Marvel Legends reviews and Spider-Man, Avengers, and X-Men collection display videos. After a few years, the channel has branched out to review other figure properties aside from Marvel Legends and G1 Transformers Masterpiece. Hot Toys, Star Wars, Diamond Select Toys, DC Collectibles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dragon Ball Z, Attack on Titan, Godzilla, Evil Dead, and The Walking Dead toy lines have all been added to the roster of nearly 2,000 video reviews. Japanese import figures from SH Figuarts, Bandai, Figma, Square Enix, and Medicom MAFEX have been favorites as well. More recently, Kotobukiya Statues (including the very sexy Bishoujo line) and NECA Toys have become more prevalent on the channel. Being a big fan of movies such as Spider-Man, Batman, X-Men, Iron Man, Captain America, The Avengers, Evil Dead, Pacific Rim, Aliens, and other films has lead the channel in the direction of also reviewing movies, movie trailers, blu ray releases, and tv shows. News updates for 2016 releases and beyond are also posted. Audience engagement is a big part of this channel, with giveaways and fan mail being read publicly once a week in the PO Box Pick-Up videos. Impressive “Shart-Art” is shared via social media and included in the opening theme song. The audience is also kept up to date with any changes to the channel, along with recent comic book pick-ups, unboxings, and action figure hauls. Stop-motion segments punishing the popular meme of the Big Time Let Down Spider-Man close most of the comparison segments, and are compiled together for guaranteed access to patrons. Lastly, all figure reviews close with a slideshow featuring dynamic poses of the figure inspired by ACBA, with the added bonus of music performed and recorded by ShartimusPrime himself.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems to me this is the first spider-villain with bombs, a glider and a butterfly articulation.
The first would be the ToyBiz Sinister Six Green Goblin in 2004, although they were really weird butterfly joints. But this would be the first Hasbro Goblin-type villain to meet that criteria.
I think it depends, the animated series Spider-Man can’t really be seen as anything but his animated appearance because of the cell shading, unlike the Renew Your Vows Spider-Man is more open to interpretation and can be placed in any part of your collection/display. Great review Shart!
wow, never thought I'd ever see this figure, so cool. I love the Jack O' Lantern villiain. Jason Macendale who is Jack'O also later becomes Hobgoblin who is my favorite Spider-Man villain.
I wish Hasbro would make the Goblin gliders and this Pogo platform a little bigger.
At least for Jack o lantern this is to scale to the books look. Even when was working for Red Skull.
I have to go with the animated Spider-Man. Renew your vows buck, while great, feels like an older Spider-Man. I always want my Spider-Man to skew a little bit younger, thinner, etc.
Solid review of an awesome figure! Believer it or not, Jack O'lantern is my favorite Spider-Man villain. I remember when I first saw him as a kid. I was in junior high school and saw him in a machine man comic. I thought he would be a replacement for the Green Goblin. He never lived up to that but I still thought he was cool.
You ever read Agent Venom? He's got a really good arch at the start of that series.

Hasbro put the figure's upper boots on the wrong legs. 1:20 Daniel Salas, who worked on the figure, has Jack O'Lantern renders on his ArtStation that show the wrinkles of the back of the boot cuffs on the opposite legs.

I just got mine this week and loving how it looks. Glad I didnt skip this one.
They could have easily bundled him with that stand and marketed him as a deluxe but they didn't do that. For $24.99 we get a definitive version of this character! Unlike some releases that are inaccurate or have pins the first time around. So awesome.
Also I really do like the animated spiderman. It's a shame that he's kinda impossible to get. Hoping for a pinless mcfarlane look though with lots of paint.

A "spectacular" review as ever, Shartimus. The new Jack O'Lantern looks awesome. He's definitely on my to get list. I want to replace my old one with him. My favorite Spider-man IS the Renew Your Vows. Imo he is the best ML Spider-man so far.

Love this Jack Lantern figure! Definitely in my Spider-Man Rogues Gallery shelf in a prominent pogo pose! As for the Spider-Man, RYV version gets my vote.

Just bought it and watched the video and i have to say its really a great figure. I feel he fits in with the rest well and that the renew your vows spidey works best.

I will get this figure eventually, but most of the Spider-Man villains on my shelf are green. My shelf needs more diversity. Plus I already ordered 2 Scarlet Spiders from the wave.

Animated walmart Spidey is my fav of the two. Near perfect if he only had the toes.

Since this is the Levins version of Jack I’m definitely grabbing one for my Ghost Rider shelf since Lucifer possessed him and Johnny obliterated him by tearing his heart out, setting it on fire, then pushing it back into his chest
As much as I love the 90s cartoon I gotta go with the renew your vows the articulation just makes me love it
I think he looks great and will eventually scoop him. Those chain mail arms into butterfly joints could definitely be used for a future Captain America.

Very glad I didn't cancel this preorder! In hand it is very striking and stands out in a good way. Can't wait for Hasbro to utilize the chain mail butterfly joints on a future Cap figure. Also I have not opened my Animated Series Spidey, however I do like that figure's buck over the RYV Spidey (though that one is great).

I remember having a character called Halloween jack when I was a kid. It had like a wolfman mask and gloves that attached to it. Anyone else remember what I’m talking about?
I don't know anything about this character but I'm tempted to buy a few to use as goons for Green Goblin.

The animated version is a vastly superior toy. The blues are how they should be on Spidey and the chest emblem is not huge as hell. Not to mention he isn't as muscular in the chest area.
Jack O'Lanten is cool I guess. As for your guess about him being Hobgoblin, yes, but he was Hobgoblin for like 10 years. After the original Hobgoblin disappeared, Jason picked up the mantle of Hobgoblin and made a deal with a demon to become one during Inferno. After a while, Jason hated being a demon and him and the creature separated, creaing Demogoblin. Jason continued to be Hobgoblin until the original returned.

The top elbow joint has been a problem on several recent figures I’ve gotten. It shouldn’t be that tight. They have to change whatever they’re doing with the ratchets.
I bought a DemoGoblin BAF Flight Stand awhile back on the aftermarket when i 1st put in my pre order for Jack O Lantern..i figured that they might be harder to get once the figure was released.. btw the price was fairly low 👑

Og Spectacular Spider-Man is low-key my favorite title. It ran from 1976-1998 with 263 issues + 14 annuals. It's focus is mainly on fleshing out spidey's supporting cast and lower-level/ more obscure villains like Jack o Lantern, Boomerang, Tarantula, Tombstone. Spectacular is also where/when Spidey and Black Cat starting dating from issues 84ish-100

Hasbro needs to get rid of that dumbbell neck joint.
They need to design it correctly. It's an infinitely better joint in every way, 90° bending in any direction you could ever want. Hasbro just can't design it properly, same thing with their diaphragm joints
