    Ok, this took way longer than it should have to connect to my network. I got it to work with much trial and error. It didn't work using Bluetooth, which I was convinced would have gotten this to work. It turns out the wi-fi (SAP Mode) brought me success. I tried each option multiple times, and it wouldn't work. In desperation, I looked to other sources. I read up on disabling 5Ghz on the router for legacy devices. Figuring out how to disable 5Ghz, I noticed progress (using Bluetooth). It still failed, but it was enough to try the other options again.
    Try these steps below; hopefully, they will work for you. Good luck; the setup wasn't easy.
    *Make sure the SERIAL NUMBER of the Wi-Fi Controller is entered in Settings*
    1. If your router supports 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Disable 5GHz in your router's settings. You can turn it back on after the wi-fi controller is connected.
    2. Factory reset the wi-fi controller.
    3. Open the app. Controller settings. "connect to wi-fi." Wi-fi Direct (SAP Mode). Go through the screen prompts.
    4. *IMPORTANT* Once it tries to connect. Let it sit and do its thing. It will go back and forth, saying "connection unknown." I had to wait 5 - 10min before it connected and applied the firmware update.
    5. The phone will show that it's trying to connect. The controller will show that it's connected, and the green light will be solid. *Hopefully, this worked. I know the pain*
    6. On the phone, select - continue without connecting (even though the outside controller says connected).
    7. Create a Zone Program. Follow all the prompts.
    8. Select Remote. Below "Manually Start a Zone," there's a drop-down arrow. Select the option "Zone Tester."
    9. Test out the zone, hit "start.
    10. Voila, you're all set.

    Please edit this video at 4:03 and add the instructions for entering the serial number of the WI-FI Wand. To complete the WiFi setup and ensure the status of the controller is green in the HydraWise app. The user has to go in the controller settings, click edit and enter the serial number of the WI-FI wand. I spent 3 hours of trial and error looking at multiple video before I found one that asked for the wand serial number to be added. It’s a simple step that would have made my life so much easier.

    The light on X2 never lights up..the LED is always off. What am I doing wrong?

    i bought a house who has this system but i can't register because the wand is link to another account which i think was the original owner of the house. how do I go about this so i can register? thanks

    It's not letting me connect to the WiFi via any mode it says incorrect ssid although I double checked and I'm inputting the correct one. i dont know what to do.

    What I have to do when my X2 displays says hello and the led is blinking in amber colour? The factory reset and new configuration is not helping. I have this problem after one year of using WAND, before everything was good.

      Same here, I try to connect even with Bluetooth and after entering in the pin my phone says connected but the wand does not go on to the next step. I have had my just over a year as well. I did change internet service but bought a 2.4 GHz extender for it and my door locks.

      yep - exactly one year later -- mine only goes so far as to get to the HELLO and green flashing lights - following all instructions that successfully connected me a year ago no longer work to get past this HELLO screen.

    For me it shows online with solid green. In the app shows controller status: “waiting for confirmation” and stays there and never changed. What should I do? Please help

      SAME! I even bought a wifi extender and it still isn’t working. 😫

    After following the connection wizard prompts, screen reads “done” with both WiFi and Bluetooth logos, but it’s still not connected. Spent over 4 hours unsuccessfully trying to connect. It’s worked for the past 2-1/2 years with the same router. I turned it off for winter, but can’t get it working now that spring is here. Very disappointed.

    Unfortunately, in my case the connection is unstable - immediately after setting up the application, watering is turned on/off through the application without problems. After a few minutes it stops, the X2-601-E controller displays “OFFLINE”. After resetting the WAND module to factory settings everything again successfully connects and watering can be started several times until it goes offline again.
    The wifi signal level in the Hydrawise app shows “High”. Internet access is stable.
    Perhaps anyone have had this problem before?

    My wand is just flashing green and amber and continues to do so even after restarting the X2 Controller and after holding the wifi button for 5 seconds. Absolutely nothing changes it. I can't find any information anywhere how to resolve the issue and get connected.

    It seems like when the wifi is connected it is turning off the pumps. It looks like everything is connected but cannot turn the pumps on from the app. So I then have to remove and use the device. Anyone else having this issue? Hunter panel works fine on its own but not when wifi wand is connected.

      I'm having the same issue. I can't get it to water from the app but the controller works fine and can water. Did you figure it out?

    After I connect to the Hunter X2 Wi-Fi on my phone I get the message:
    "Your Device is not connected to the controller, please go to your device settings and connect to controller Wi-Fi to continue."

      The X2 - WAND, when inserted into the side of the controller, will indicate different blinking LED colors to inform you if the controller is linked to Hydrawise through your wireless network.
