Back in February some of these Edgeworthia were in bud in Hatcher Garden and Woodland Preserve in Spartanburg.

I had one at my old house (PA zone 6), and the scent is wonderful. It froze to the ground one tough winter, but grew back. Currently have one with orange-tinged flowers. It's supposed to be zone 7, but hanging in there so far. It has buds, but won't be blooming for a few more weeks. My lonicera fragrantissima started blooming today! Another great winter scented shrub.

THANKS Thats a nice plant. I would like to see a Japanese maple planting video. From picking out a good placement to putting it in the ground. You can come down the mountain 20 minutes and plant it at my house.

I appreciate the note on shade.. I feel mine struggles as I can't give it enough shade but I always found conflicting advice on sun exposure.
