I like long beds, but also crew cabs to give you inside safe storage. I was following a pickup and a 5-gallon water bottle slid right out from under the net.
Just came across this post and you have a great truck. I will always have an eight foot bed on my truck. One way to beef up a net is to lace some 3 strand line through it to take up the stretch, do it horizontal and vertical if necessary. An extendable boat hook is also handy for retrieving items in the bed. I remember when trucks came standard with eight foot beds, boy time is flying. Good post. Thanks!👍⚡️
Home Depot sells plastic trays. Talk in the back , short in the front. About 4 yrs ago $15. Two fit almost perfectly in my 2020 F150. I use a cargo ratchet bar to hold them in place.
“Plastic stackable bin” at Lowe’s for $20 each. 2 of them will EXACTLY fit across the back of the bed by the tailgate. Just hook’em together and to the walls…put all your groceries/stuff securely in them. I love mine! You’re welcome!
They've come in handy over the years. The net is finally wearing out and I'll have to replace. Here's an affiliate link to the bed attachments amzn.to/3FnKMyU
Good question. Maybe just a plugged drain hole or maybe some sort of bar? Never really thought about it. Probably obvious answer to someone in the know.
Softopper. There's a video on my channel about it. Everyone asks that and it is waterproof. Very good. Corners where it meets the bed some water can get in but that's just positioning. It comes with a bottle of waterproofing for the seams but I've never needed it.
I tend to put stuff between it and the tailgate. Plenty of room, on my truck at least, for cases of water, soda, DEF, gas cans (sideways), etc. It stretches a bit so heavy stuff may slide. I wouldn't put cases of water in it as it's not wide enough. I keep moving blankets, a toolbag with tie downs, and funnels within the fold of the net itself. Anything larger, like I said, between it and the tailgate or behind it and in the bed.

Good idea. I like using the ratcheting cargo bar from Harbor freight with some collapsible utility crates.
I just used the trusty 2X6 across the back. It was on hand. I added a couple of D rings to it for tie down.

I have a crew cab and I keep the tailgate up. Folks who ride around with the tailgate down are asking to lose something.
I appreciate the updates on the carabiners. I've seen those plastic ones before and wondered.

Those two vertical ridges behind the net are for any size lumber to slide down in as a stopper also
Yes, I was going to say that, any 2x would work. 2x10 should be sufficient. But the net is cool too and you don't have to have the wood in the bed.

I replaced the cap clamp bolts with eyebolts
They came in handy more than once
Great idea. I might need some help getting those things you first put on the bed walls. Thanks!!

I keep a Broom handle with a metal hook that I made in the back od my truck.
For what the trucks cost should already have imo 😂😂😂
For what trucks cost today, they should come with someone to load your lumber and groceries and help you with a run to the dump.
1000% 😤😤😤😤
I use a boat hook instead of a broom :)
Soft toppers ?
Soft topper is the company that makes the canvas top. It's awesome.
4:35. What’s that round hole punch out for?

What's that topper you have, and is it waterproof?

I was looking for a net or barrier for groceries and came upon this. Do you think it'd be able to hold a few cases of water bottles?
