Seems like that smoke detector decided to “play dead” for a bit lol! Never knew about that little dip switch setting thing, probably because I never had to mess with it when I got mine. Those ESL detectors are able to be magnet tested, just hold one up to where it’s says “test” and it will activate after the LED blinks a few times.
Good to know! I thought I read somewhere that they only had a sensitivity test, but I could be mistaking it for another detector. Thanks for the tip! And yes, the voltage select dip switch is definitely an interesting feature.
Thanks! This is an issue the panel has had since I got it. (A local fire alarm inspection company replaced it for this reason) Zone 4 is shorted so it is always is in alarm. Of course this means the panel can never reset and the notification appliances will always be sounding and flashing. My method to get around this problem is by setting that zone to be a supervisory zone. Supervisory’s do not cause a fire alarm but do cause the panel to beep which I’d rather have than a constant alarm. Thanks for your question!
With eBay, you aren’t guaranteed to find what you are looking for. It seems currently no one is selling any 3 zone FireShields. You’ll just have to keep your eye out and periodically search to see if anyone is selling them. I’ve done this same thing for specific alarms I wanted to add to my collection.
Nice! Love it when a new system test comes out!

Giod test today! Even at mid volume, it was incredibly loud! These devices pack such a punch.
Very nice! I'm actually a tech for Per Mar. It's kinda cool to see one of their old pull stations. Most of those im sure have been replaced years ago.
Nice test! Extremely loud system. But why did the bigger fire sheild go into a supervisory when you reset it?

I’ve never seen that per mar pull station aren’t those normally in Canada?
Yes this style of pull station is more common in Canada but you could find some in older systems in the USA.
Very interesting setups!
Cool system as always
@exitsign250 how much was that 3-zone panel and where did you get it? always wanted one!
I found it brand new on eBay around 2018. I think it was $100? A really good deal for any panel like that.
@@ExitSign250 huh cant find any today guess they are on their way out
@@ExitSign250 do you know the name of it
