The 4 main stages to eliminating health anxiety for good
Frantic (physical symptoms, the body is all, fear of letting go). Key: Use your imagination to see your franticness from the outside.
Exploration (introduction to new perceptions, root causes, new actions, new direction). Key: Connect long term pain to living in this anxious state.
Becoming (the process and implementation of mindsets and skill sets forming habits that bring us out of the ego and onto the higher self). Key: Seperate an inner child led idea from one from your higher self.
Arrival (a whole hearted arrival into a new identity and all that comes with it, a feeling of living through an after life, seeing through childhood and present fear centered beliefs and systems). Key: live it out in all you do.
“Health anxiety makes us believe that we are fragile and small, when in reality we are strong and limitless.”

The most powerful statement from this video was hearing you say to listen to our higher self by trusting in the ability to leave things alone. There shouldn’t be a frantic search looking for an answer to the symptom.
I can’t tell you how many times I have done this only to be left disappointed. It truly is a trap.
Thank you Dennis for shedding light on this! Wow!

Thank you for making this very important video that can help so many. I was born with a heart condition that required 2 open heart surgeries. fortunately I’m doing well . Needless to say, tons of anxiety followed. With covid and isolation my focus was Always on my body and what I was feeling. Googling symptoms opened Pandora’s box to even more anxiety with catastrophic thoughts on my self diagnosis. It was months of pains moving all through out body. Every part of my body hurt. I just wanted to sleep my days away an hope the pain would go away. Through videos like yours an others I was desperate to find piece. My breakthrough came when I accepted that my pain was manifested through my brain. My panicked state was a ses pool for any and every fight or flight reactionary symptom.. … dizziness , pain in forearms, tight calves, thighs, chest pain, numb face messed up gut and so much more . The biggest revelations I had were 2 things. 1. My mind is responsible for these pains. And 2, movement is essential.. I would cower down an let my symptoms keep me in bed all day. I stopped googling I started moving and my life changed .. hope anyone struggling finds piece

What spoke to me is that non doing and the things I fight against the most fight so hard to remove like people and things that trigger me are teachers , teaching moments of letting go non doing stop fighting against. I would say I’m stage 1,2 . I’ve bounced up to 3,4 a couple times but you pointing out that looking at self or inner self like on a security camera is profound. They way I learn is so visual so thinking this way in visual vs just words is easier something i can take to a visual practice.

Hi, Dennis. Excellent message, and at a much needed time. I've recently dropped back into Stage One from stage THREE, after so much great work, revelation and evolution!😖🤦‍♂️ It's frustrating and humbling to be reminded that it's possible for this to happen.
On the UPSIDE, I do have a very good idea of what led me back here. Essentially, I fell for a few old traps, after having ALLOWED myself to become more susceptible to them. I reverted back to my old stand-bys for dealing with things. Anger, thoughts of revenge, aggression...the things that worked SOOOO well for me many years ago. Now, that approach gives me a temporary boost, but always leaves me CHEWED UP and spit out. Often back to Stage One, with a new terminal illness, etc.
"New perspective. A perspective yiu are GETTING TO KNOW better." I guess I forgot to keep faith in that process and ran to the 'refuge' of the old "I."

Thanks for this video! I think I go from stage 3/1 back and forth. This video is like I’ve found someone who understands me. I’ve had many frustrations with trying to explain to people what’s going on and they look at me like I’m crazy. I listen to your meditations and I journal my feelings but it’s a long road to recovery. It’s nice reading the comments and seeing others who feel how I feel. I want to be someone who doesn’t have to worry about a symptom the way I think anymore, the Googling and constantly seeking reassurance drains myself and probably others. I have a HA book and going to get counselling soon also but I do love your meditation videos they keep me the most relaxed sometimes I’ll listen to them during the day when I’m doing the dishes and anything just because I find your voice and words are the most comforting

I have to remind myself to trust the path that I’m currently on to healing my health anxiety. The most powerful moment for me was when you said that we can learn to “leave things alone”. Now, I'm paying so much attention to my mental health. Before, I don't use to have enough sleep. I overthink everything, I think negatively of anything I see. Now, I tell myself, I don't need to be this much afraid, I believe there are more good people in the world, than the bad one.. So, any time I have this nagativing thinking in me, I say to myself, I know my anxiety is lying to me, so no need to pay attention on the things you tell me no more.. Your videos help me a lot sir.... The most important side, is to understand, that it's normal and nothing magically is attached to it.......

I've just come out the frantic stage (I feel I'm still lurking around at the door though) and entering stage two. I can see stage 3 and I feel it's a realistic accomplishment but I also feel that I can roll back into stage 1 very easily if I'm not careful. This video was a big help and a great guide to keep me going forward. Connecting long term pain to our previous state really helps and I've actually done something similar to this 2.5 years back when I decided to quit smoking. To prevent me from smoking I reminded myself why I wanted to stop in the first place, remembered my bad stamina, coughing, etc, so connecting pain to our previous state definitely helps us going forward. For stage 3, separating, or maybe assigning stressful thoughts to your inner child doings, I believe is also a great way to dissociate our true selves from catastrophic thoughts. Great video. Much appreciated.

I'm in stage 1 right now. The biggest epiphany (moment of clarity) for me from this video was when you said to use my imagination to see my franticness from the outside. Once I did that, I kind of felt silly since I'm going through so much pain and suffering, constantly ruminating over the silliest things (the tiniest bodily sensations, past mistakes/regrets, fears about my future). Hopefully as I practice this more I will be onto my journey from healing health anxiety. Thanks for the video

I am between 2 and 3 I believe. I have been so good at “letting it go” but today I ate triggering foods and had a powerful esophagus reaction. It scared me and I had an old familiar reaction. Hot zaps to my head, arms and legs felt heavy. Old me would’ve escalated this into needing to run outside or call my husband to come home bc “I’m dying”.
I slowed myself down. I confirmed my pulse was steady ( I hadn’t needed to do that in almost a month that’s unheard of for me) and told myself not to catastrophize this in my mind. I had this checked out in the past. All the tests. I’m fine. Yes it’s uncomfortable but I’m ok.
    Thank you Dennis.

    Great advice! Takeaways:
    1. Stage 1: Frantic stage. Obsessed, Fear, letting go.
Key: close your eyes, see your reactions through the lense of a security camera. Notice behaviors and reactions.
    2. Stage 2: Exploration Stage.
Introduction into new perceptions. Root causes. New actions. Face and expose yourself. Do not lose Faith in your direction. Key is to connect long term pain in being in the frantic place.
    3. Stage 3: Becoming Stage. Mindset and skill sets forming habits.

I’d say that I’m mostly in Stage 2 but occasionally moving into stage 3 in that certain lifestyle habits are becoming automatic rather than forced ; I’m also more able to separate my inner child/ego from my higher self. I still feel triggered though in certain situations ( seeing seriously ill people in real life or on TV/ adverts to do with cancer charities etc) but my biggest epiphany is that I’m more aware that these situations are triggering my inner child and I can look at it from a different ( higher-self) perspective in order to process what’s actually happening… this can help me to develop more of an inner calm.

My health anxiety has come and gone over the last ten years or so. I do not stress with what I can see, I.E. a bad cut, that doesn't bother me at all. What gets me frantic is what I am going thru now, weird abdominal pains and mild pain in the right side. I am truly manifesting a lot of gas, that's real. Your video helped me to see that in the frantic and exploring stage that I am dumping a ton of energy and time into this "problem" and actually manifesting these symptoms. I am going to let myself journey to stage 3 realizing that my negative energy manifests these symptoms and use that same energy for that journey. I am also scheduled for CBT therapy, I would like your take on that, Thanks for the video and revelations!

    • @TheAnxietyGuy1
      @TheAnxietyGuy1  Год назад

Thank you for sharing. My input on CBT specifically for health anxiety is that it has the potential to create the kind of clarity that can lead us to emotionally investing into new perceptions. Meaning, when done regularly with the expectation that healing this level of sensitivity is on its way, CBT can completely eliminate the health anxiety and bring us to a more clear place in mind and safe place in body.

Hi Dennis...my "ahh hah" moment was when you said those who trigger our into anxiety reactions, causing us to fall back to being the victim of suffering once again are GIFTS FROM GOD! Saying it's what I need to heal rocked my ego-inner child to her core. And realizing I am totally addicted to suffering, well now I know why I kept falling back over and over. You rock! Guess I am faltering in stage 2. So what can I do if I see my spouse dealing with the same anxiety issues I am, not health ones, but doesn't want to do anything about it? I guess I just keep working toward my ARRIVAL and stay there. Thanks for your amazing help.

I’ve had severe health anxiety these past few months, which have led to me experiencing IBS and stomach pain. I ALWAYS google my symptoms, always. Even when I tell myself to STOP. it never has a good outcome, I just get more depressed and think that I’m severely ill, and it doesn’t help that I still experience symptoms. but I’m beginning to think it’s all physical because I have little to no symptoms when I’m focused at a task or not thinking about it. My symptoms comes out of the blue sometimes, which is what leads me to believe that I somehow have something and I’m gonna die from it. I’ve recently had my blood drawn to rule out sickness, and it has come back fine, but somehow I still get the feeling of them missing something and still being sick. I’m tired os this and how it’s controlling my life.

It's fascinating to reach clarity after so many years of following the SAME patterns - patterns that trap you on the " hamster wheel of anxiety"- feeling that you can't possibly get through whatever stage you are in- that you are incapable of letting go of what has made you miserable- because your fear of the "unknown" feels greater than the familiarity of Health Anxiety. We fear the unknown- because it causes us to feel even greater insecurity. But it can be done- you change your feeling of insecurity to CURIOUSITY- getting curious about a NEW LIFE- and what you can accomplish - :)

The 'ego mind' will come up with a host of catastrophic ideas in the hopes of pulling us into irrational fear and the ego centered prison. It is the ability to become aware that this voice is not our true voice, and to slowly allow the rational voice of the higher self to guide us instead.

Not for fear of the actual act of driving but the farther I get from home, the more my anxiety kicks in. I'm afraid of getting a panic attack alone. Or having a health emergency far from home or people I know that can save me. What one of your programs would you recommend? I've been through a lot and had a lot of tragic deaths. Especially recently. I want my life back. I used to be the person people called when they wanted an adventure. I also constantly worry I'll have allergic reactions to food and big bites.

    • @TheAnxietyGuy1
      @TheAnxietyGuy1  Год назад

Anxiety affirmations are a lifestyle, not a means to an end and as long as you see it this way it becomes a powerful habit in your daily life. Listen once per day same time each day, any more would attach you right back to the addiction to suffering and forcing change.

We must get to a point where we can trust the body to heal what the body is screaming. We are overly sensitive as anxiety sufferers so we must take into consideration that our perceptions are false many times and continue to re-direct our perceptions to a neutral viewpoint. Less focus and energy given, the faster we can move on and trust.

Hey guys I have a question.
Since 2.5Years I have a generalized anxiety disorder, everywhere where I go, I get dizzy, shortness of breath and really ‘pannicky’
Now the last 7 months or something, I have this constant feeling of extreme thirst, even if I drink a lot of water, and extreem exhausted feeling. Like I woke up in the middle of the hot dessert. Can anyone relate? I don’t really hear anything of this.
Hope you guys are on the healing path🙏🏼

Yes! The dizziness shortness or breath, sweating, funny head feeling every single day I leave the house! I always take a bottle of drink out with me too Becasue I freak out if I haven’t got one! I think this is just Becasue if we get thirsty or dehydrated we may feel crappy and so having that drink there to have helps! It’s strange! But it’s not a bad thing! I wish I drunk more water! Anxiety causes excessive thirst FACT x

I keep bouncing between stage one and two. I was doing better until my significant other was diagnosed with multiple myeloma. He has just completed a stem cell transplant and we are waiting for his blood counts to begin to recover. My blood pressure is high, my anxiety level is extreme. I realize my inner child is scared of being abandoned. I am afraid of not being a good enough support person and causing him harm. I am afraid of having a heart attack or stroke and not being able to be there for him.
I can’t meditate or even relax. There are moments of realizing I can trust the doctors and if I died someone would take over my support position. So why can’t I let go and relax?

Habit, and over-valuing this state of chronic worry that a part of you believes is of benefit for the future Joyce. Deeper reflection will lead to associating more pain to this worry habit, to the point where you will begin distancing yourself from anxiety.

Im in stage 2 I think. Sometimes I still think that doctors etc might be wrong or something bad will happen but I have admitted that I suffer from health anxiety and suffer from hypochondria. I start to realize though that my symptoms are because of anxiety and not illness (heart failure etc). I try not to visit doctors often anymore or google syptoms. I'm trying to accept and explore what works. @theanxietyguy I just bought your book. Looking forward to read it. Does this sound like stage 2 to you? I can still panic however I try just to accept it and realize it's anxiety and I'm not going to die even tho it can FEEL like it.

I had the same problem a year ago thinking I had heart failure and the way I started getting to stage 3 was anxiety meds but even after I got off of them for short term I started to realize that for the amount of time I was telling myself I had heart failure I may have been even more terminally ill or even being dead eventually and once I started thinking like that symptoms started to go away.

Naturally support your nervous system any way you can, your symptoms will worsen when under stress. Time heals. Control the stimuli.
