This is stupid marketing thinking. making it free and available to all Antelope users would increase hardware sales and Antelope system adaptation across more users.
Exactly, if I have afx2daw for free, I would be willing to spend some money on more plugins to take advantage of it. But when the price of entry is $199, not only am I not going to pay for that, I'm also not going to pay for additional plugins any time soon.
I would have to buy a Thunderbolt computer and then spend another $199... I didn't pick up on the fact that a Mac with Thunderbolt was needed to use the plugins in your daw when I bought the zentour two years ago, because it wasn't made clear in the advertising, which mentions multiple times that it works in any DAW, but only mentions, as an aside, that it works on any DAW running on a Thunderbolt Mac!. Im on a Windows 10 PC with USB-C.. 😏
I just upgraded my windows pc with a thunderbolt card and adapter (about $300 altogether) under the impression afx2daw came with it since that's what the webpage says, but no... 😠
Aw man....I thought this update would finally give me access to AFX2DAW....guess not. Love the gear, but that's my biggest complaint about this company
Galaxy 64 owner here. Love the hardware, but it's f'ing BS Antelope killed afx2daw support for the Galaxy units after they had a promo video on RUclips for a year showing afx2daw being used in the studio as part of the Galaxy 64. I posted a screenshot of this on the Facebook group. My post was deleted and the RUclips video was pulled. Antelope claims it's coming back but it's not part of this significant update and they won't give any indication when the 'defect' will be addressed. Terrible.
@@225maine I learned all of this after I purchased it. The whole premise of Antelope’s Galaxy 64 video was using it in the studio and afx2daw was being used to insert plugins throughout the tracks. I even took a screenshot and sent to Antelope. That’s when they pulled the video and told me it’s not supported anymore and they are working on ‘fixing it’ but cannot say when.

@@225maine What I can tell you is the hardware is excellent. Higher quality than UAD Apollo x16 in my opinion. Antelope drivers have been solid and reliable for me. For as much as some people complain about Antelope software I have been fortunate with the exception of afx2daw. I was an original Orion 32 owner for years. My Zen Tour Synergy Core I use on MacBook Pro is rock solid and the quality is incredible. Aside from afx2daw the Galaxy 64 is top class. I just wish Antelope would address this one defect.
So only with thunderbolt in windows? It is quite rare that a Windows machine comes with thuderbolt ... And how many vsts instances can you run after all? Only 2 stereo or 4 mono?

Considering what Pro Tools Carbon and HDX Hybrid Engine is bringing to the table, Antelope could develop a Hybrid AFX2DAW that switches between real-time DSP/FPGA processing and Native CPU processing. With Native processing available faster than real-time bounces would be possible.
3:40 is the answer why it is not working - if i knew this, i would not go for Antelope. adding another 249eur to a 499eur already purchased audio interface just for this? no thanks. i can definitely live without AFX2DAW and good luck!
Someone just posted a video that they are not reporting their latency to the DAW properly, this is a recent version, and causing all sorts of phasing/flanging/comb filtering. Just a heads up.
Why afx2daw is expensive? And why it is not coming for free like one of the plugins? Do you understand guys a lot of user by antelope disappointed and sold their Audio interfaces and moved to Universal Audio. I don't think you guys really wish you it for you marketing. I mean if it is low budget soundcard why after all adding it coast the same as AUD? BUT just more difficult.
Ho james, plz share video how to connect zen go + cubase + obs setting for stream or youtube using zen go, i am really struggling with routing. Obs does not catch any signal from zen go even trying with loopback routing
The plugin is still very poor on MacOS - it's unreliable, unstable and more often than not won't validate or load in Logic Pro. Antelope really need to get their shit together - the soiftware is shit.

Come on guys, you don´t have to be so mad at Antelope, after we spent thousands on one of their interfaces and having a very cumbersome way to use their plugins for years, now they give us a chance to spend some extra $199 so the interface can do what their competitors such as UAD and Avid do with no extra cost

On my zengo i can open it in Cubase and Reaper but there is a conflict in FL Studio. The plugin is detected as a virtual instrument so i can't add it in the mixer's FX racks. I will share this on FL studio forum. maybe they can fix that. Anyway ty for this add

Can you clarify that very last point. As the processing happens externally, do you need to effectively record your project rather than just bouncing it in order to capture the Antelope effects in real-time?
Antelope has no marketing skills. I still find it irrational how the previous Orion Studio are still priced at original price after the new and improved specs Orion Studio Senergy is now on the market. Pathetic.
dont even get the daw plugin when you buy a $2000 interface, what an utterly ridiculous way to shoot your company in the foot. Sold it and bought an apollo instead. No wonder they are too scared to show their face here on their own YT channel except to click like on the few comments which arent showing them how much money they will end up losing on this plugin because of lost future sales. Losing the type of customers who buy $2k interfaces over a plugin seems bizarre.
in my almost 40 years on the pro audio world and I have never run across such an incredibly convoluted and horrible software setup. Yes the interface converters sound great, every thing about the software side is buggy, incomplete and just plain horribly executed. I regret giving them initial thumbs up and thinking the issues were down to mostly user based problems. My over three months with the Orion 32+Gen3 has been nothing short of a nightmare. I'll just chalk it up to throwing away 3 grand and what really is the poorest software execution since the first win95 os.
afx2daw for Windows USB please!!! why just zen go??? I bought my zenQ a couple of days ago, and saving to buy the whole plugin package and I just found out that I won't be able to use it on my daw. that's so frustrating

Two questions, First: When exporting in any Daw with a VST plugin, does it have to be in real time? Second: why doesn't it work with usb driver in windows? TB interfaces are not very stable there.
I have an Orion 32+ gen 3 and a Zen Go, the both use Antelope ASIO drivers and they are rock solid, AFX2DAW is another story though, If I even think about using AFX2DAW my DAW will just crash
I have a new Antelope discrete 8 Pro.I have been surprised that I have to buy additional afx2daw if I want to use Antelope effects in ProTools. I did it, But effects still dont work and Antelope support dont help me....
Like buying a car without wheels 😊. How can they NOT include full DAW functionality at once? A real downside compared with for example UAD who even bring their own DAW included. Otherwise, seems like a great unit.
It works in Logic but when I save the project and open it up again, the AFX2DAW is there but none of the effects I added saved inside it? Does anyone know how to get around this? Do I have to save the settings for each channel seprately within the AFX2DAW?
Hello AFX2DAW usually always saves the settings automatically; if it doesn't, please try reinstalling AFX2DAW from the Plug-ins tab in the launcher. You can first try to turn off any antivirus/VPN software, but preferably uninstall it. Antelope Team

Does not work with my ZenGo, clicks and pops like crazy and for some unknown reason bouncing tracks out with afx on distorts and glitches my bounces to no extent. I was super excited with this update but now I'm just plain dissapointed

Hello Francisco, Afx2daw is compatible with Discrete over macOS and Windows. The plugin will work only over Thunderbolt for devices with Thunderbolt ports. We remain available!

Hi James. I have a serious question. Does the company antelope audio still exist. I have been calling customer service literally for four months with absolutely no answer from technical support. They used to always respond. I have questions about the gear the Orion synergy core interface. I bought the bridge of fax which would’ve loud me to use my antelope plug-ins with their logic that never work so that was money wasted. What’s going On with this company antelope audio? just doing online videos is a Ineffective way to conduct business with your customer base in my opinion
I gave up with Antelope a long time ago they said they were going to bring out the afx2daw for Orion 32+ which is thunderbolt then the plans were changed. So no afx2daw plugin and the way the plugins work from the unit is just not practical. Advise always buy the audio card for the hardware it offers and the support not for the add-ons as manny times you will be disappointed in some form.

Yes that's ridiculous, the same goes for edge mics, you have to buy an ilook in order to have the emulations working in your DAW

Check afx2daw page under FAQ, they have a table showing exactly how many per all antelope models
USB-C would be nice. It's just as fast with a lot of bandwidth..
It's actually much slower. Thunderbolt runs at 40GB, USB-C is only 20GB.

Like buying a car without wheels 😊. How can they NOT include full DAW functionality at once?
A real downside compared with for example UAD who even bring their own DAW included. Otherwise, seems like a great unit.
The biggest issue of FX2DAW, you can't record with with plugins it without having a huge latency. UAD handles this better!

so if my intarface is connected through USB cable I wont be able to use the AFX2DAW? I just got my Discrete 4 pro so I am wondering.
AF2DAW doesn't work, it makes every Daw I use crashing at Insertion.... Ableton Live, Cubase, Bitwig, MPC software. All crashes !!!
It works in Logic but when I save the project and open it up again, the AFX2DAW is there but none of the effects I added saved inside it? Does anyone know how to get around this? Do I have to save the settings for each channel seprately within the AFX2DAW?

AFX2DAW usually always saves the settings automatically; if it doesn't, please try reinstalling AFX2DAW from the Plug-ins tab in the launcher. You can first try to turn off any antivirus/VPN software, but preferably uninstall it.

I have installed afx2daw with all the drives .. When my logic 10.7.3 tries to load this plugin I get this message " incompatible audio unit found"...Has anyone had this problem? How can I solve it? I have macbook pro intel and OSX Monterey ..Thanks

My afx2daw stopped working today it wont load on my computer. I just used it yesterday but now today it isn’t playing. What can I do to help fix this. It came with my edge go so now this makes the Edgo go useless as well

Does not work with my ZenGo, clicks and pops like crazy and for some unknown reason bouncing tracks out with afx on distorts and glitches my bounces to no extent. I was super excited with this update but now I'm just plain dissapointed

Does this update also make it work with M1 Apple Silicon. I was very excited to get my Zen Q but had to return it because the AFX2DAW doesn't work with M1 Apple Silicon Yet

Probably never due to latency concern. Even on thunderbolt it's still malfunctioning for me.
@@kenny6105 Considering supposedly inferior ZenGo gets it, I would say Antelope having a plan for and might have been working on it.

Afx2daw is compatible with Discrete over macOS and Windows. The plugin will work only over Thunderbolt for devices with Thunderbolt ports. We remain available!

Not at this time. AFX2DAW can currently be used over USB only with the Zen Go Synergy Core, on macOS and Windows. For all other supported interfaces the plugin works only over Thunderbolt, on both macOS and Windows.

Hi James. I have a serious question. Does the company antelope audio still exist. I have been calling customer service literally for four months with absolutely no answer from technical support. They used to always respond. I have questions about the gear the Orion synergy core interface. I bought the bridge of fax which would’ve loud me to use my antelope plug-ins with their logic that never work so that was money wasted. What’s going On with this company antelope audio? just doing online videos is a Ineffective way to conduct business with your customer base in my opinion

I gave up with Antelope a long time ago they said they were going to bring out the afx2daw for Orion 32+ which is thunderbolt then the plans were changed. So no afx2daw plugin and the way the plugins work from the unit is just not practical.
Advise always buy the audio card for the hardware it offers and the support not for the add-ons as manny times you will be disappointed in some form.

I see you have listened and currently afx2faw is free with all three bundles for €50. This is a great gateway to you stuff and inclines me to buying a device of yours.
