Rewatching the original movie, Godzilla's first rampage was absolutely terrifying. The original really is a serious horror movie, there's no fucking levity.
The original was scary for a good reason: It was meant to remind the Japanese of the horrible nature of nuclear war, which Godzilla was a personification of.
@@KirkCliff2 Godzilla is the symbol of nuclear weapons and a nuclear holocaust. He will always be the symbol of a nuclear holocaust. The atomic bomb caused the Age of Anxiety.
I'm not a true Godzilla fan, in fact i've never seen this movie. But recently, based on several sources and people's comments, I finally able to feel the creepyness and the real horror elements of the first movie. Imagine you're in the middle of a striving country trying so hard to rebuild but than a giant, demonic creature with large eyes, thunderous footsteps and roar just came out of the sea laying waste in your already battered nation. I know it's a premise of every kaiju movie, but back then i'm sure it gave an eerie feeling
+abie pratama considering this movie only had to compete against the likes of King Kong, this definitely is a near original idea and it worked perfectly
A real monster fighting game, like if it were street fighter , tekken or naruto shippuden. Have king Kong , clover field, Godzilla, and many other monsters.
Beautiful. Dark. Stunning. Morbid. Its perfect. I really wish they would do the EXACT same song but record it today with the more updated sound to get an even deeper feel of this beautifully dark masterpiece.
jim tyro nice remake but not nearly as scary as the original. You have to realize that this was 1954, this scared everybody when it came out cause it was different than previous monster movies. It’s very surreal for its time. Shin is definitely a scary Godzilla but its impact on the audience just isn’t the same. Better than most remakes may I add but not scarier than the original
@@caanannethken1659 it's kinda hard to recreate the old, black and white, eerie sillhouette of Godzilla back from 1954. Shin Godzilla was weird, creepy and cool, but none of the Godzillas can compare to the OG.
I love this one so much, this is Godzillas true theme song, the upbeat one we are used to was the JDF (Japan Defense Force) theme, not Godzillas theme, this is, kinda wish this stood as Godzillas theme, imagine if this played in Godzilla King of the Monsters 2019 and/or Godzilla Minus One, that would've been badass, we honestly need to give this song back to Godzilla and give the upbeat one we are used to back to the military, I edited both Godzilla KOTM and Godzilla -1 so that this plays instead of the upbeat iconic one, I wish my edited versions were the real versions as they were badass, unfortunately I cant and wont upload them as im scared of getting copyrighted, if Toho and copyright laws werent so strict I would've uploaded them by now and I would've with no hesitation
The damage had been severe, but fortunately confined to the dock section of the city. Godzilla was still in Tokyo bay and there was every reason to believe he would return, unless some means was found to stop him.
They sorta did. Godzilla’s theme in -1 was a rescore of his march suite from Mothra vs Godzilla, which fun fact, is this theme but with a faster tempo.

And so the sea flashed as white flames rose from its depths and with it, the one man would tremble in the presence of its mere shadow, the one who would be known and remembered as THE DESTROYER
My thoughts on this theme are hard to put into words, but some do come to mind: morbid, terrifying, bleak, hopelessness, and an ultimate sense of utter doom and despair.

If there is one hope I have for Godzilla 2014, it's that the composer will include some of the classic music cues in their score.
Chilling music. The original Gorjia is a masterpiece.

It means "Gorilla-Whale" so if that's true I would certainly like to see that person.
Thats an old rumor some ramdom book started

It’s a good theory, but it’s not true
it just a rumor. the original name of godzilla, gojira came form the word gorilla and whale in japanese which become gorira and kujira
