Sorry to hear that you as an Italo-americano may never come to visit the country of your origin. You should make the effort to, Italy is worth a visit, at least once in one's lifetime. But if you ever have a chance,, don't choose the big city like Milan, Venice or Florence. Choose small towns

I know Alessia won’t like the comparison, but many of these points (especially those related to food, family/community, art, and walking/moving naturally) are equally true of the French. I haven’t made it to Italy yet (it is high on my list), but I’ve been to France many times, and these are just some of the reasons that I love France - the focus on balance in life and appreciating the small things, rather than the US attitude of live to work, eat to survive, buy the newest most expensive things to keep up with or outdo your friends and neighbors.
It’s true but the Mediterraneans (inc Spain Greece n Portugal) aren’t as snobby and uptight as the French in general.
It’s true! Despite what Alessio wishes, there are many similarities between the Italians and the French 😉 that’s why they bicker like siblings haha
That's absolutely true: that's why we consider them our (inferior) cousins from "oltralpe" (from beyond the Alps). And that's why we like to tease or pick on each other and are constantly challenging each other (best wine, best food, best car, best luxury apparel etc.).

Yep we’re in Pgh pa and food is always a big discussion in our house. My husband loves my cooking. He’s Italian and I’m German. I’ve cooked everything. He’s enjoyed everything. We absolutely love watching you guys. My mother in law would have enjoyed your videos. Her parents grew up in Italy. They Then came to the us to have their family. My mother in law was one out of seven. Her youngest brother is the only one left. He traveled to Italy with his family and everything was centered around food. They had a blast. When we visit them in Florida we’re surrounded by food and especially dessert. My husband and I will be married for 30 years 2024. Our daughter will be married oct 2024. Her venue looks exactly like a villa in Tuscany. We are so excited for everyone to enjoy the food and cookie table at her wedding. We had 3,000 cookies at one wedding. We will always center our selves around food. Family and food matters most.of courses less salt and moderation.munga 😀😀😀💙💕🌸🌹

I have to admit you made a very good and entertaining video, but you depicted a romancized version of the Italian lifestyle. Of course there are people in Italy who live la dolce vita as you so beautifully described, in small town or enchanting villages, but for most Italians life is not that leisure or slow

Totally agree with everything you've noted here. I've just returned from 5 weeks in Italy (as a solo traveller) and I felt so connected in every way. I loved the slower pace, and although I was travelling solo, I still managed to connect with locals who were so amazing. I've visited Italy for short trips over the last 20 years, but I know I love the longer trips... already planning another 5 week trip for next year.

i think Italians and Greeks are really really similar in many ways, especially the food. I’m italian and my dad comes from Puglia, and being part of the Magna Grecia, the architecture and meals are so similar! If you see Ostuni (a city in Puglia) looks so much like Greece
@@chiaratundo8336 I believe it, the Greeks moved. Throughout the Mediterranean all the way back to the Minoans and Mycenaeans. The plus is the delicious food for both. I would love to get back to Italy and see and eat more. 🤌🤌🤌
Let's say that you are not "cursed" but very lucky given the poor level or the lack of refinement and value of the primary food products they eat, while in the worst case, anti other peoples and often not only have the "luck" of eating they don't do it at all.

Its so true about preservatives in food. My husband has a little high blood sugar. We did a test. He ate the Same amount of oz boxed pasta vs my homeade pasta same weight. His blood sugar on a monitor he was wearing rose about 50 points less with the fresh pasta i made!

Italy is my hearts second home (I dont have a home there). I try to go at least once a year. I spend all year saving to go. I get withdrawal symptoms if I don't go. The feeling I get as soon as I smell the air getting off the plane! ❤ I would love to move to Italy one day. 🇮🇹 ❤
