Hey paul it’s Rene we met at the TST big event. I wanna thank you again for helping me keep my house… so I can give my kid a great place to grow up. Starting with your teachings, I was able to capitalize on becoming a diagnostician in my area. And give my family a better life.
I have learnt a lot watching your videos. The things I learnt from your videos helped me get the job I have right now. I know you don't know me but I feel like we are family. Thank you very much Sir Paul Danner.
Hey Paul geetings man i just learn last week that to test if the 5v is a bias voltage just hook up an incandescent test light to ground and touch that wire if it drops is a bias just using the test light as a buffer. OUTSTANDING VIDEO MAN GOD BLESS
Bias voltage tug test is perfect. Used this technique on a very similar situation on 16 Dodge Dart. Funny that the butt connector outlasted the soldered repair. I think it’s sometimes very hard to get a perfect solder on very small gauge wires like abs wires but I still believe a perfect solder repair should last longer than a butt connector. To each their own! Great learning as usual!
Caleb is really doing a great job at filming and editing! I have been following for about four years and I can really see the improvements in film quality, overlay shots, audio quality etc. I also like the thumbnails. Sometimes he makes the pics of you and your brother look so funny and interesting.
@@ScannerDanner You are blessed! Making money and getting to work with your son. It looks like you guys have a great relationship as well. I used to work on cars with my son too. Some of the best memories of my life…Also want to add that I work for the US Navy as a civilian employee in Okinawa Japan from the Pittsburgh area. I love hearing that Pittsburgh accent. It makes me miss home. Watching your videos has helped me so much. The first ten years I worked in cars I didn’t even own a fuel pressure gauge, didn’t care about diagnostic testing much, I did almost everything by guessing. Looking back I’m actually amazed how often it worked. Now I always no for sure what parts I need. I don’t have to be scared I made the wrong call when I order a part on your tax dollars.
@@mattmiles9779 best commemt ever! I'm saving the American tax payer money with my training 🤣 And of course, enabled by you as one of the 10% that want it and have successfully applied it. Awesome, thanks for sharing my friend. And thank you for your service
@@ScannerDanner Thank you for the kind words. I just want to say thanks for your appreciation, but I am not a service member. I am a civilian employee of the Navy and get paid well for what I do. The real thanks goes to the Active Duty military members who I am privileged to work alongside of everyday.
Perfect timing for this video... Wife's Jeep Wrangler has a front right wheel sensor fault... Was gonna get under there and look at the wiring, Now I will look for a bias voltage to help troubleshoot!!! Thank you!
Depending on the year, your speed sensor is different. It is a magneto resistive type and they use a 12v supply to it. Here is how you test those.. ruclips.net/video/LKJWkAGMOfQ/видео.html
Nice find as usual Paul! These GM's are bad at the ABS harness flex points going to the front suspension, fixed so many I can't count. They sell the harness for $28 or so last time I did one. Not even worth fixing unless it's past the connector, which is rare. Bias voltage is a great tool that often gets overlooked!
Great video Paul! It was nice to finally be able to meet you at ASTE. Hopefully I was able to show you a trick or two when dealing with hybrid vehicles... the world knows that you've taught me enough over the years and I probably wouldn't have been there if it weren't for videos just like this.
100% PJ! And I definitely pulled some nuggets from you 1. I learned how to recognize an engine running from an engine cranking on a hybrid. 2. I learned why a single cylinder misfire on a hybrid can sound like a bad engine lol crazy 3. I learned how to ID a shorted M2? (one of the phases of the main electric motor) 4. I learned more about regenerative braking and that it has nothing to do with the brakes There was more and that was just from you! Great to meet you too my friend. Sorry we didn't get to talk much outside of the class, but great class indeed PJ. Thanks again!
James is the very good man, the best man . Thanks for this video paul .all good for you and your famaly.( gott sei mit euch für gute gesundheit eurer ganzen familie, immer.) lg.
Great test and always my go to for sensor reporting issues! Thanks for this quick gem Paul!! I missed you guys this year at ASTE but as soon as I’m caught up on work I definitely plan on getting back out to another training event!
I have a 1993 cadillac deville 4.9l, My anti-lock light is on after I changed all abs sensor on the car and I drove it and the light is still on. My opinion is that it's a bad abs relay switch not the hydraulic unit. I don't know kno where's the abs relay switch is located at...can you please give me some information.
Hey I thought I'd reach out for some possible help. 2010 peugeot 3008 2.0 hdi I'm suspecting it's got a dickie ecu. Throttle goes dead but comes back after a few seconds. Replacement pedal didn't help. Reset the ecu and it was OK for a day or two. I'm suspecting the drivers in ecu are faulty. What is your thoughts
Movement and flex of a wire over time breaks off the individual strands of wires while leaving the wiring insulation untouched. It is crazy the first time you see it.
I believe I was using the Snap-on Verus Edge in this video. There are certainly less expensive tools out there that can do the same thing for you. Thank you and welcome to the channel!
I'm fighting a WSS sensor problem on a GM right now, both sides have the ability to send a signal with OEM known good, but every replacement I've gotten is a dud. Mind boggling, maybe I'm missing something..
I will pay you to come out and fix my 1999 Ford F350 6.8l I live in Hooper Utah I have a power to ground short coming out of coolant sensor wire from cluster 11 volts its cut just about 6 feet from cluster and pcm coolant sensor wire is not connected to that wire replaced cluster twice and same ordeal .
wow look at this guy poke holes in the weatherpack seal several times, a great way to allow water intrusion and corrosion, i dont care what anyone says, that method is a hack!
GM antilock systems are garbage. I've got a 13 Silverado that has low speed abs engagement. Cleaned all the rust off the mounting surfaces, made sure the signals look clean and aren't dropping out, and still it low speed engages.
It's funny how you're telling people to get the course and you'll teach them how to do this--- but you literally just taught us how to do it in the video. lol..

I can't wait to get one of those phils probes. Money's tight, lucks been bad but it will come around.
If it ain't got an oil pan leak, then it's not a Northstar V8. Lol. Great vid Paul 👌
Great content and a noticeable tip of the hat to Eric O.

Good one Paul, thanks !👍

Thanks for sharing this lesson! Knowing your circuit is key to testing for faults.
Nice diagnostic again team Danner

This video was about Bias Voltage, do wiring diagrams show bias voltage? I don't ever remember seeing it on any wiring diagrams.
No and manufacturer service information doesn't share that either!

Hey Boss, I’ve seen many broken wires without insulation damage on RUclips. How do those wires get damaged? Respect.
Movement and flex of a wire over time breaks off the individual strands of wires while leaving the wiring insulation untouched. It is crazy the first time you see it.
@@ScannerDanner Thanks.
New to your channel and lovin it! Please pardon my ignorance but what is the diagnostic software you are using to watch the sensor voltages?

Funny how easy it is to forget about the bias voltage…!!
Replaced my 02 Jeep WJ RR sensor (failure code), once replaced I got a (Continuity Failure). Trying to find the issue now.
check the wiring real close, especially right at the connector
@@ScannerDanner Thanks for your prompt reply. I love the proactivity of your channel.

Hopefully the new wiring repairs look better than the old ones. Yikes

He looking for a tech, yes. But not an "A" tech. He needs a good B or even C tech that we can groom
Paul is biased where bias voltage is concerned 🙏🏼
Cool but nobody talks about the symptoms that are caused by driving with a bad ABS or bad wheel speed sensor.
Triple D
