I actually use the original sidebar from a Vista install lmao. It's said to be unstable but I haven't experienced anything that would break it, and you can even add additional gadgets to the sidebar directory.

That is a nice idea and no offense but who on earth exactly would actually want to make their pc look like Windows 8.x? Windows 8 and 8.1 were some of the worst products Microsoft made in history not to mention they also both very negatively changed Windows forever from what people like me see so those are two reasons those OSes don't really want to be remembered.

Great video! I'm considering trying WindowBlinds to apply the Windows Vista glass borders but I already have DWMBlurGlass installed, which gives a similar glass look on Win11's default window borders. Do I need to disable/uninstall DWMBlurGlass in order for the 3rd party Aero theme to work?
Update: I've downloaded and installed WindowBlinds and also installed the Vista theme shown in this video but I'm getting a dark frame around the explorer windows, instead of the black fade, is this normal?
Mid Tutorial At best, You forgot to uninstall all of the applications that weren't in vista, such as windows defender paint and all others, forgot to replace windows media player 12 with 11, forgot to replace the paint and notes, and wordpad with vista versions, need to use 8gadget pack for desktop gagdets, use 2013windows 8.1's vista Icon pack, use the Vista like skin for openshell form classic shell's forum, forgot to change the file explorer icons, and adjust and disable man system settings. Lastly, customizer god for the other tray icons, and all of the games and other classic taskbar flyouts, do that form winaero tweaker.

The taskbar is really small. It doesn't look right. How do you make it bigger?
if you go to the advanced tab in the Retrobar settings there's a slider that lets you change the size.
