    Im assuming they installed that red board to support the weight of the kenwood head unit, it was probably heavier than OEM and was maybe sagging or not sliding in straight.

    does the bezel come with the radio when ordering from ebay?

    Great Video. I have the panel and my car is LHD. The panel says RHD. They both look the same online. Can you maybe help me out? Will the RHD panel fit my LHD car? I literally cannot tell the difference.

      Thank you for the compliment mate. Definitely get the LHD one as I'd imagine the angle might be slightly off. On the pinned comment in the video you'll find an ebay link for LHD. Hope this helps!

      hey mate, the EK Civic is the 6th gen Civic? So it should be the same. Or is G6 a model overseas that I am not aware of?

    Unless you have access to a JDM/EDM stereo fascia with intact A/C vents; DON'T DO THIS. USDM vents DO NOT FIT. You will wind up with 2 ugly, gaping holes in your dash, that is going to cost you a minimum of $150 USD to fill them with the proper sized and imported AC Vents. I just UNDID my 9 inch headunit and ac relocation for a stock set up with a true single din android stereo, and it looks 1,000 times better.

      @GoneAsGoneCanBe surprised to hear that but I wouldn't know given I'm in Australia

      @@forcarssake I LOVED the big screen, but not having anything in the vent holes made the overall install look atrocious. I was also surprised when I actually popped out my original vents to glue them in and they did not fit. Leaving me with a useless stock bezel and an ugly aftermarket one. Which is why I went to the wreckers and got a "new" one.
      THIS ONLY APPLIES TO USDM CIVICS, as I know there are some differences in the wiring in the Aussie market compared to every where else when it comes to 96-98 and 99-00 eks. With that being said there are some work arounds that people have found for usdm civics with out having to convert the entire dash over to a 99-00. Like cutting the bezel with vents out of the oem one, and doing the same to the 9 inch fascia and gluing/plastic wleding/body working the front until it looks good again. Or cutting a section out of the stock vents and gluing them back together. All 3 of these options sound like more time/effort/money than it is worth it to me. I now rock a 5.8 inch screen, it looks perfectly at home in my stock dash, has all the same features as the 9inch stereo I had installed, with the bonus of having a volume knob.

    So much rust inside?

    • @forcarssake
      @forcarssake  Год назад +1

      Those are very common surface rust and it doesn't really impact structural rigidity.

      @@forcarssake okay, the question is that here in Brazil I couldn't find the grids for this frame and I wanted to know if you know any website where I can buy it, the ones I have are a little bigger than the space in the frame

      @Edson Paulo do Nascimento you can buy what I have in my pinned comment. It will bring you to ebay, LHD for left hand drive, or Australia for Right hand drive.

      @slackerzsincity8822 I agree, this definitely wasn't my best job. Next time I do it, I'll have to use cardboard/paper template etc to help get a better cut. And hopefully even get to a point where I can 3d scan and print the facia covering the piece with OEM like finish
