The clear tarpauline has really helped me so far. In winter I will put the cover across the front again but tonight pond is at 17! It's mad.

Great video mate! Had 3 fish from Jack, (Balding Reefer) delivered today! Out of this world! People just need a little patience (and be kind!!), as his new business side has just exploded at a rate he wasn't expecting and he's working flat out to try and keep up with it all. If you have to wait a bit, it's well worth the wait! Looking forward to seeing what you're getting from him 😉

Well, it was under £20 for you to see what it's like. I really think it's great....but if it doesn't stand up then, if you like it you can spend a bit more.

The plants look great in those showers! When I made a make shift bakki, I put water cress seed in them and it made a huge difference to the water but then again, my water wasn't as regulated as yours either though 🤣. Pond looks brilliant 👍🏻.

Have you thought of the bamboo type roll up blinds. Wouldn't block all the wind but think it would accent your design and colors nicely

We have been covering our ponds with tarpaulin for a few years, we find it works really well.👍

You have got the pond looking lovely, I thought you couldn't improve on perfection but adding a bit colour has made it look amazing.
As with the Nessie, I personally wouldn't put her through the stress of getting her out again, from what I could see the skin has healed so what you can see is mainly bruising and that will heal itself.
As for your Chagoi, I would keep a close eye on that mark because you could end up with a dead scale which will need removing but again that is further down the road.

I love those showers , but have you ever thought about retro fitting them with strips of LEDs ? Don’t even know if it’s possible but if you think of these things you will never know

Ey up James , the PSb Bacto is bloody good stuff , I’ve had a nightmare when my filter crashed due to Chlorine or maybe chloromine, wiped it out , I’ve been battling for weeks to get it going again , got some PSB bacto and it’s worked brilliantly ammonia spike went fast and nitrite is nearly there in 5 days , use as a regular weekly usage , keep it in the natural light and when using it give it a really good shake 😊
I bought a real heavy duty clear tarpaulin a few years ago to do exactly the same as you and I noticed a big difference in my winter temps. I ordered mine with eyelets every 14 inches and bought a load of small bungee cords with a ball on the end to enable it to flex a bit. Lasted 2 years before I changed my pond. Just wish I could remember where I got it from as it never split or tore. Typed this as I was watching. 😂 Where have you found this heavy duty one on line?

Hi James , regarding teeing off before the tap to feed your trickle in , I think you will need to fit a double check valve to stop any chance of back feed should the water ever go off , the outside tap that you have in the filter house already has one fitted hence the loud fart when the air escaped. Looking fantastic , you’ve certainly given me pond envy, take care and keep it up

I have put a tarpaulin sheets around my pond makes a lot of difference my pond is holding 12 degrees
I’m heating to 18 degrees and no covers… to much hassle covering personally… been there done all that temporary covering nonsense for no reason 🤷🏼♂️👍🏻

I would treath again if an experience one tells me. I understand u and i would have the same. But experience with medicine is like 60% of a good effect. But dont listen to me Those fish are much to expencive
If you do decide to go with the bespoke tarp idea, i wouldn't go with anyone offering this for ponds, the prices will be artificially inflated. As you know yourself James anything that has pond or Koi attached to its description is always more expensive. I would look at Specialised Canvas Services (no connection to the company other than several friends being happy with their products and customer service) They are based in Derbyshire but i'm sure they'll ship if asked.
They won't be cheap but their products are built like tanks.

As stupid as it sounds but if u where to get a gazebo with the sides to the size of the canopy of the pond and drape it down over the whole pond and basically hotbox the pond
